Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 22

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 22. Happy New Year! Coming thick and fast these game-weeks aren’t they? And this one is our first DGW of the season with Spurs and West Ham having two matches each. It is their rearranged derby that concludes our GW on Thursday, but before then we have three days of action. Today sees five matches – the lunchtime fun sees a south coast battle as Brighton host Bournemouth. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy then at 3pm we have the Liverpool attack vs the Burnley defence, Leicester welcoming Huddersfield and Newcastle travelling to Stoke. The evening fun takes us to Goodison with Rooney inviting his old United mates over for a drink. And extras.

Tuesday sees four further matches in the evening – Palace go to Southampton, Swansea host Spurs, West Ham and West Brom meet and Man City pound Watford.

The best is yet to come. Wednesday sees just one match, but what a match as Arsenal meet Chelsea at the Emirates.

Our New Year extravaganza then comes to a conclusion with Spurs’ and West Ham’s double date at Wembley.

  1. Just leave KDB in your team and the points roll in. If he misses a game or 2 your bench fodder should provide 2 points until KDB comes back. He now has the most assists in the European leagues.

    • Thus spake a KDB owner! He’s difficult to fit in alongside Sterling and Salah unless you have a weakness elsewhere, either in the 2nd striker spot or just a crap defence. Who else have you got Kruz?

      • Salah,Son,Lingard & Richarlison who will become Ramsey when he is fit. Kane Firmino and Quaner. Ederson,Otamendi,Jones,Christensen,Kenny and Ogbonna with 1.3 in the bank to tweak it. Won’t sell Salah as I bought him at 9.0.

  2. Hi folks. 34(-4) with alli Kane masuaku arnie and maybe Christensen to play. Doing some forward planning – is Aguero more essential than KDB now that Jesus is out? Lots of people transferring out Salah!?!?

    • I’d take Kun in now if I could. Wouldn’t say he’s essential though. Salah is! They’re still transferring him out are they? I’m planning on transferring him back in smile

      • I think that’s my problem – I can stretch to KDB back in but not to aguero for firmino. Happy for people to transfer Salah out to be honest!

        • Just do that then. Unless you’re on a WC. Which you really shouldn’t be!

    • Same if he doesn’t score some goals next game I’m considering giving up this season

      • There’s been a lot of fantasy football lately. It was weird worrying about what to do with Kane whilst getting ready for New Year’s Eve. I am personally looking forward to the fa cup break I could do with a breather. Perhaps you will look at fpl differently in ten days time. Good rank by the way..

  5. Off topic! Not sure how to go about this but i thought i would put it in here first! I lived in Malaysia for 3 years and whilst there in 2015/6 i was #1 in Malaysia, 19th overall in the world and possibly top 3 in ff247 league, any way i still play in leagues and tournaments in Malaysia and have been set a challenge to get a team of 15 from the UK to compete against a team from Malaysia, they are no mugs, they will have 30 or 40 in the top 50000 to choose from if they so wish! If anybody would like to join me or give good advice, it would be greatly appreciated!

    • Is this for a league? So 15 teams from here against 15 from there?
      I’m in the doldrums at present but I’ll take part if you’re looking for volunteers!

      • Haha! you are more than worthy to join Rosco! They play this format as a league but this is classed as an international friendly, The admin will choose a squad from all teams who play in the league, yes 15 teams each!

        • This what i just got from their admin…Actually..The extended format very simple.

          U got 15 players, 4 player to be at the bench.

          Total 15 players will be
          2 goal keeper
          5 defender
          5 midfielder
          3 forward

          Before the game start, u can choose any formation to play… say 4-4-2.

          That means in the bench there are
          1 gk
          1 def
          1 mid
          and 1 forward.

          After all GW matches finish..

          Say ur forward point not enough to win the head to head… u can use point forward player at the bench (if higher than Opponents point). If subs player win the head to head.. ur team earn 1 point…

    • Good stuff Padster – I’m not from the UK but we did have an alliance with England back in the XIV century (Windsor Treaty). If that doenst qualify than good luck to … team Malaysia !! Ehehe

        • Vasco was a nice guy. The invasor was Afonso de Albuquerque (had to look that up tbh). Those were the days in Malaysia, though. After our tenure, it all faded away with the Dutch (Raz), first, and the English (Cookie), after them.

    • Cheeky i know, but I’m after the big cheeses of the site for approval of using their very nice logo! I want to post this on our opponents closed fb page Tridos tournament (1800 members) to stir things up a bit, in a nice way! If you don’t want me to use it i fully understand and will delete all my missus’s hard work straight away, thank you! Hehe!

      • Trial run! So just out of interest i decided to look at what the ff247 Lions were up against in their international friendly with the Malaysian Tigers! It looks like our goalie Init has found a match in the tigers only female representative Dynda, who scored an impressive 91pts this GW, The Lions defence lead by Matt’s 88pts all won their legs, The midfield with Rosco leading the way with a top score of 94pts was a mixed bag, Cookie (Hamstring) would have been replaced by super sub the Kop Warriors impressive 89 after -4 deduction to salvage a point, The point was soon to be lost again as their midfield sub of 88pts beat igy4’s 71pts, It seems their attacking duo is also handy with scores of 82 and 83, which could not be matched by the Lions impressively ranked Horse, The Gallant Pioneer or Silvers! Roll on GW 25 😉

          I’ll be honest, when you announced the competition I had no idea how it would work!
          It’s all so clear now!! Nice write up too! I look forward to this kicking off In GW25, hopefully Cookie’s hammy is just a bit tight!

      • Great work Padster! Appreciate you posting this here and getting us involved. So it looks like 2 points for a straight up win and 1 point if you use a sub to win. Also it looks like you can only replace one starter, correct? Perhaps you should come on here and post before the GW, just in case any of us are on a WC or using a chip so you can be sure to get them in the starting XI. Unless they all rotate every week which in that case it wouldn’t matter then.

        • Thank you, enjoy doing it, Yes it’s 2 points for a starter win and 1 for a sub win, you can only change same position when subbing and if there score is higher than the opponents, i will ask their admin, but i think we will be sticking with the line ups the way they are, it gives every body a chance to scout their oppositions team and hopefully have some fun doing it,

      • Final trial before the main event GW25! After her impressive 91pts last GW, Dynda could only tie with the safe hands of Init 46-46, this tie was decided on captains in which Init’s Kane outscored Dynda’s Salah, our sub GK Joanne with 55pts would have came in to rescue a point if needed any way! After a perfect start GW 23 our defence was breached quite heavily, DMC, who initially beat his opponent 57- 52 had victory snatched from his hand by an Aguero captainer sub with 70pts! Mito (Aguero) was unfortunate to meet their only other Aguero captainer losing 68-79, Matt who was struggling with an injury, 44pts, was replaced by Padster 75pts for 1 point. The midfield of Cookie, Rosco, Banjomaker and igy won 3 out of 4, but super sub last GW Kop 45pts could not help out in Rosco’s defeat 47-56, Our impressively ranked front two of GP and Horse struggled this Gw in which Silvers came on to outscore their sub 58-43 for 1pt, Final score a win 12-7! Game on GW 25 😉

        • As long as we’re winning I’m fine, but I do have a few doubts here:
          1 – How are the pairs decided, is it all random?
          2 – Why didn’t Paddy (75pts) sub me? He would have outscored my initial (Benjamin, 52) opponent’s sub (Izzat, 70) and thus would have gave us one more win. I know Paddy went on to win anyway, by subbing Matt, who otherwise would have lost vs Ahmad, so it would be the same in the end in terms of total wins so I’m just trying to understand it really.
          3 – These were trials I reckon and the real thing starts on gw25, yes?

          Just to answer your questions, 1, i asked a few people who play this format and they said they put their 3 best players as goalie and 2 forwards, so i just did this based on overall rank in gw 22! And our subs at the time, who are still very well ranked i must add, where the 4 lowest from the 15, the defence and mids i just mixed it up a bit! 2, you get 2pts for a starting player win, and 1pt for a sub win, if i had used my 75pts to outscore their subbed 70pts, we would of got 1pt for that tie, but they would have got 2pts for Matt’s tie as a starting player win. 3, yes GW 25, We won both trials with this line up, so i see no reason to make any changes and let the fantasy god’s do their work ! 😉

        • Evening people! 11.20 pm this side of the world, Here is some useless information regarding the last 3 GW’s averages for the FF247 Lions and our Malaysian opponents the Tridos tigers! Obviously most players averages will be higher or lower over the full season, but i thought i would see what the current form is like, it looks closer than i thought and with a lot of people captaining the same player this week (my opinion), differentials could play a big part in deciding ties and maybe the match! The standout player during this period is Banjomaker with 72.3 ppgw, which has seen him move nicely from 40,605 up to an impressive 13,698 overall position Not sure where I’m going with this so i will stop now and let you take a glimpse at your opponents! Need to sleep as the midweek games here ko at 3.45am, so an early rise to my next few days! Enjoy and goodnight! 😉

  6. I went to Malaysia many moons ago and on the cars there were a blue crescent and star badge similar to the Pompey badge and my gravitar. Is it still the case now?
