Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23. We’re back for a quick ‘two dayer’ before being rudely interrupted again by the FA Cup next weekend. Wolves and Leicester kick us off on Saturday in the early game before we get going properly with no less than six 3pm games. Mid-table obscurity leads the way as Bournemouth welcome West Ham, Saints play Everton and Watford host Burnley. Further down the table there is at least some interest as Newcastle and Cardiff have a potential six pointer. Man United will be hoping that mid-table is but a distant nightmare when they play Brighton and then the big one, in terms of title importance anyway, is Liverpool hosting Palace.

The battle for 3rd, 4th or 5th heats up on Saturday evening as Arsenal and Chelsea clash.

Sunday begins with Huddersfield, and their ‘score-keeper’ checking that he has the numbers 8 & 9 in his bag, as Man City come to town. The Fulham bloke may as well be diligent too, ahead of Spurs visiting at 4pm. Stranger things have happened…

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 23 from all at FF247!

Anyone still in the FPL Cup?
My opponent is a dead team and he’s winning ffs. He’s on 43 and Kamara left. I’m on 25* and Sane(c) left. Looks unlikely unless City go mad tomorrowsad

Miraculously I’m still in. I had a thrilling 49-48 victory in the last first round.

This week my opponent very unwisely took a -8, so I’m looking good. A couple of Sane goals will see you through. Just get on the blower to him tonight and explain. And order him to assist Sterling a couple of times while he’s at it.

Well what a day! It’s weird, when I’m at the match I can’t get any internet where I sit, went across to the Next stand at half time where it’s intermittent and was shocked to see palace winning 0-1. Came out of the match ( very happy at 3-0) but expecting an FPL horror show but find I’ve done pretty decent, Salah just keeps performing and despite a few blanks did decent enough! All in all a good day, glad I went Kun over Auba as it means I still have interest tomorrow! Righto back on the beers!!

You make St James’ sound like an old Rugby League ground where you could just wonder around willy nilly! Does remind me of watching Widnes in the 80’s (don’t ask, I’m actually a Saints fan) and we would literally swap ends at half time with the entire crowd at each end walking the length of the pitch, on the pitch, and reorganising ready for the 2nd half. Apropos nothing.

Anyway, good win, congrats, how did my old mate Niasse look?

      • Brookyboy says:

Used to do something similar at the old Leeds Rd Ground.Watch the first half in the cowshed, then wander round to the terrace for the second half (or vice versa, depending which way Town were attacking) Even remember being let in to the away end for one evening game (Wrexham i think it was) as the visiting team had only brought about 10 fans !!
        Halcyon days !!

        • inittowinit says:

Can’t say I’ve ever done it at a football match. That’s unless you do mean a RL game? I know they used to play both there.

Segregation seems to be the answer in football, but at RL they’ve always trusted the fans to be more civil and less parochial, which is more than slightly ironic, given the more brutal nature of the game itself.

        • What is it they say Init

Rugby is a thugs game played by gentlemen and football the opposite.

      Rosco says:

Yeah we can’t access the whole ground but I sit on the corner of one side so have full access right over the length of the Gallowgate where I have a couple of pals sitting.

Init, I’ll be honest I didn’t even realise that was Niasse playing for them!! Needless to say he wasn’t up to much!!

Hi All. haven’t been on the site much lately. fairly satisfied with 65 points mainly due to captain salah. Just have sterling tomorrow to round up the gameweek.

Does the premier league announce the rescheduled fixtures of GW27 the day after the league cup semi-final 2nd round?

    • 63.1
      inittowinit says:

Very little chance of that happening. They’ll scratch the relevant ones from the pad with immediate effect but the rescheduling will take a bit of time to sort out. Agreements need to be reached with all 4 clubs and the 2 local police forces. And possibly also UEFA if they intend to go for a midweek date which clashes with the CL.

    I’m chasing those Jota points!
Admittedly, as someone pointed out earlier, he won’t score a hat-trick every week. But this should build up his confidence – and he did score 17 goals last season. So I reckon he should be good for perhaps another 4 or 5 this season, which is all I expect at this point from a 5.9m midfielder. He seems a good replacement for Pereyra, who’s been looking short of energy and has a tougher run of fixtures coming up. Hopefully Aguero will finally overtake Pereyra’s total score tomorrow…

Best def for 5.2??? Doherty? Shaw??

      Doherty.

      Check out Wolves’ forthcoming attractions.

      eresh12 says:

he was benched today, doherty. reckon it has anything to do with boly being suspended or whether doherty put in a worse performance against city?

      • Kralin says:

I rather dozily hadn’t picked up on the benching issue, just saw he’d got one point.

Wolves’ fixtures in the next 5/6 GW are pretty good. Which is the span I always look at when bringing a player in. Assuming he plays / doesn’t make a shock loan move to Heart of Midlothian in the window.

I haven’t the foggiest idea of the other defenders owned by whoever asked the question.

      • inittowinit says:

Apparently his wife / partner gave birth overnight (we’d have to ask Mito about that though, he’s our FPL birth guru), although there are also some wild speculations about transfer / contract negotiations. I rather suspect it’s simply the former and that the lad was knackered. So to speak.

      • roccerfeller says:

Wife gave birth so he was with her, or so Twitter in the knows are saying

    • 65.3
      inittowinit says:

Either of those is ok given their fixtures for the next 3. Shaw probably has more chance of clean sheets. I’d chuck TAA into that too, assuming he’s back and fit which he may well be. You may already own him though.

      elcfc says:

      Shaw for me

Would not be in the run to make the change though as there is a while until the next game

Give it a good think, but trust United a lot more than Wolves.

Wolves could concede a couple against anyone, whilst I think united are not pretty strong defensively

Half decent score due to Salah cap, Pogba and Rashford. Wasn’t expecting a lot from my defence but didn’t expect to report that I left my best scoring defender (Peltier) on my bench laugh
