Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23. We’re back for a quick ‘two dayer’ before being rudely interrupted again by the FA Cup next weekend. Wolves and Leicester kick us off on Saturday in the early game before we get going properly with no less than six 3pm games. Mid-table obscurity leads the way as Bournemouth welcome West Ham, Saints play Everton and Watford host Burnley. Further down the table there is at least some interest as Newcastle and Cardiff have a potential six pointer. Man United will be hoping that mid-table is but a distant nightmare when they play Brighton and then the big one, in terms of title importance anyway, is Liverpool hosting Palace.

The battle for 3rd, 4th or 5th heats up on Saturday evening as Arsenal and Chelsea clash.

Sunday begins with Huddersfield, and their ‘score-keeper’ checking that he has the numbers 8 & 9 in his bag, as Man City come to town. The Fulham bloke may as well be diligent too, ahead of Spurs visiting at 4pm. Stranger things have happened…

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 23 from all at FF247!

I took a -8 but Salah cap alone paid it off Vs who I had (Hazard)

I should probably write a book on “how not to play FPL”. F**k. 550k now. From 17k. That’s how bad Salah has struck me. Not taking hits was not a good idea this time

I’m around 450k. Any chance I can still salvage me season and be in TOP 100k? I’m just trying to find reasons to continue this season …

You answered your own question with a target and therefore a reason Isd.

I’m having by far my worst season so far ever, at this point, but I’m determied to make good of it by ensuring it isn’t my worst overall ranked one now.

Set yourself a realistic target and work towards it. That will be more fruitful than simply quitting.

      • Log out and take a day or two. I’m not that far ahead of you in truth lsd. I’m 381,572 just now but two weeks ago, 671,865. A couple of decent weeks can have you looking just fine.

I haven’t taken a hit in two weeks so there’s a lesson in there for me too I think smile

Thanks init! You are absolutely right! I got to remember that everything else is Better than being a quitter! Thanks !

Thanks Gp! U r right! A few good weeks and I would be regretting my quitting talks lol!

So thankful for this community !

If you use the mighty gargatron you’ll see you’re not that far off: https://www.gargatron.com/

You’ll be fine. You just need a mega-week to push up the rankings. Play it safe for now and captain Salah, make sure you’ve the in-form players with fixtures – basic stuff – and I wouldn’t panic on risky captain choices. Hold the chips back. The mega-week may well be a DGW.

Isd – in short, yes. And even further up if Dgws go your way. A few seasons back I was #300k-ish if memory serves me right around gw26 and ended on #13k. You just need to be lurking around those figures and hope for a good run in. Things need to go your way of course but it’s doable.

Here’s my WC team guys. No thoughts for now. Just wanted to take some injured / unwanted players out and Salah in. Please look into it and suggest. Need to close the gap in my ML. What shall be the essentials? My thoughts are – 03 Pool, 02/03 city, 02/03 Utd, 02 Spurs players and rest cheap playing fillers.

      Constantine,

Keep in mind that unless Burton ( 😉 ) and Chelsea overturn their first leg deficits in the League Cup this week, then Manchester City and Tottenham will have a blank GW27. In any case I would be keeping a close eye on Tottenham today and on Wednesday to see how they navigate without Kane and if they look a worthwhile investment still.

I think three Liverpool players would be justified and would consider a frontline with Firmino in it just now. Could you take him instead of Aguero and try to get Sterling fitted in (if not, Sane would be investible).

I think Fabianski instead of Etheridge seeing as you have spare cash. Defense looks to have some nice options in it so that’s OK.

      Decent start.

Don’t like the button option. I think if you wildcard now you need to with DGWs/blanks/bench boosts in mind. Othwerwise you’ll be wasting transfers further down the line to get a keeper in that plays, rather than using them on outfield players

    lsd1980s says:

Hmm Aguero? I was thinking of Auba to Aguero but worried about game time considering Jesus is in a rich vein of form

    Morning all,
Time for a hit to get Salah in …?
Hazard needs to go and I need to find 2.5m!
0.3 short to do Auba to Firm too.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    CC

      Kralin says:

It may not be a bad idea to keep Auba.

Hazard and Eriksen to Salah + Richarlison (who I know hasn’t been bringing it back home recently) or someone like Pereyra. I suppose in ditching Hazard and Eriksen you remove one BGW player from your side.

      • chelseachick_uk says:

Thanks Kralin. So you think def worth a -4?
After looking at recent comments and having watched the match yesterday, what do you think about a punt on Jota?
        CC

        • Kralin says:

I’d get him in at all costs, yes. His high ownership (and form) means youll be chasing shadows if you don’t have him.

Wolves have nice fixtures but I haven’t really researched Jota to know if he’s worth it. For what it’s worth, Jiminez is embedded in my side and no real intention to extract him yet.

        • gkw says:

Jota is a goalscoring midfielder – scored 17 last season in the Championship, but also scored 8 goals the season before for Porto despite not being a regular starter. Only 22, blanked in his first 14 appearances this season but scored 2 in early December, then suspended (5 yellow cards), now a hattrick. Nice upcoming fixtures so worth a punt IMO.
