Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23. We’re back for a quick ‘two dayer’ before being rudely interrupted again by the FA Cup next weekend. Wolves and Leicester kick us off on Saturday in the early game before we get going properly with no less than six 3pm games. Mid-table obscurity leads the way as Bournemouth welcome West Ham, Saints play Everton and Watford host Burnley. Further down the table there is at least some interest as Newcastle and Cardiff have a potential six pointer. Man United will be hoping that mid-table is but a distant nightmare when they play Brighton and then the big one, in terms of title importance anyway, is Liverpool hosting Palace.
The battle for 3rd, 4th or 5th heats up on Saturday evening as Arsenal and Chelsea clash.
Sunday begins with Huddersfield, and their ‘score-keeper’ checking that he has the numbers 8 & 9 in his bag, as Man City come to town. The Fulham bloke may as well be diligent too, ahead of Spurs visiting at 4pm. Stranger things have happened…
The games in full…

Morning guys currently ranked 309k which is my worst season so far. Wise words from GP and inittowinit, sometimes the games a bitch there’s always going to be a element of luck but for me personally, I’ve leaned I need to jump on the form bus a lot earlier!
Just wondered if you guys could help asses my team, I dont think it’s in too bad shape, defence may need a bit of investment soon and having Martial over Pogba is killing me. I have 0.6m in the bank and one free transfer.
I’m thinking of rolling the transfer this week and doing Martial to Pogba but would need to lose someone else to fund it. Any help much appreciated
Would Ederson to Leno be enough? Failing that, I think it’d have to be Hazard, as much as he does have two favourable games, to someone like Sane or KDB -though the former could be a rotation risk once Mendy comes back. Obviously see how they get on today.
Cheers swirly, do you think it’s worth doing before the next gw for a -4?
2 weeks you wait, then 1 Saturday of FPL and your entire 11 have played and none left for a Sunday. So again 10 days of agonising wait.
Just look at it as delayed gratification.
Morning
How did you get on? I’m on 66 (-4) with Alli to go.
Thoughts on hazard; keeping or selling?
I don’t own him but I think I’d be conflicted if I did.
However fixtures, or immediate fixtures, look good. In the negative column Chelsea picked up a lot of stick for their performance yesterday.
62 for me with Sterling and Mitrovic (off the bench, for Shaw) to play.
64 (-4, so 60 in reality) with Aguero to hopefully play. I’m keeping Hazard, he’s scored at least one goal on all appearances at the Vitality and then has Huddersfield at home next.
67 with Sane ahead.
I’ll keep for the next two fixtures if nothing else.
70 with Sane to play. My issue is I am well behind in my ML (100 points) with a lot of similar players. Prob keep for the moment. City may change my mind today. Aguero or Sterling running riot could lead to a change in that thinking
Morning, probably reluctantly keeping for next 2 then dumping.
Keeping for the next two fixtures, i have other players that needs to go first (Richarlison)
54(-4) with Aguero to play. Or, if Aguero doesn’t feature at all, Brooks will score me 6 from the bench.
58 all out. Was a bit disappointed but it’s ok
68 (-4) I have Alderweireld and laporte left so hoping to break the 70 mark after the minus.
Arsenal are a hard side and didn’t see the game. Did he play bad or just unlucky? With sane coming in cheaper hard one too call.
Morning I’m a bit hungover. Early thoughts on this lot. Martial and Richarlison seem to be a problem. 1.1 in the bank. Guessing Doherty will come back in. One free transfer
For Richarlison price and where he plays hr is still good, 3 ok fixtures too.
Who are you looking at for mart? You could to him to someone like Nasri and if haz let’s you down next week get sterling in with the funds
So, when you said last night “Someone is on the lash”, you actually meant yourself!
Smash, I’ll be selling Richarlison this week. I just don’t know who I’m buying!
How about Jota ? Wolves have some great fixtures and he has scored 43 points in the last 5 games he has played including 5 goals and 2 assists ? Looks to be playing in an advanced role too.
I would probably try to get a City and a Spurs player in…
Sane & Alli come to mind (you ll need to wait for the Spurs game to see how they line up & cope w/out Son&Kane first)…
Thanks yep Jota is an option. Think I’ll roll the transfer and give Them both another chance and then reassess
My defense : Fab+Luiz+Digne+Keane=2+0+(-1)+1=2pts !!
My 1st sub (Bennett)=6pts…
49(-4)=45pts
Sane & (fingers crossed) Kun still to play & hopefully save my GW.
Morning everyone :coffee:
Hey HL. I dont have kun but home hes back today, hes on my wildcard list
Let’s hope so Gavy …
Brought him in last week, he didn’t perform…
Think he is due a start today…
That’s extremely unlucky mate but maybe Kun will pull a sickie and you can get Bennett
I’m actually hoping for the opposite 😉 …
Kun to start and score a brace…
#WishfullThinking
Also nice! Haha
Morning everyone, I see a lot of ranking here and reading how everyone is having their worst season ever so I don’t feel as bad now with my 386k rank, 60 points with Sane left. I want to get your honest opinions on how unlikely it will be that I make up 198 points to win my ML for the 3rd year in a row. I think it may be too much of an ask so I’m realistically setting my sights on at least grabbing 2nd or 3rd which I’m 112 and 98 points off respectively.
Is that too far off as well? What do you all think?
Being realistic 198 feels like a stretch Matt! 100 is eminently doable. Depends on yours, and their, chip situation really. We know that a very well executed blank and double GW plan can bring in massive scores, with a bit of luck too, certainly relative to a poor / none planned one anyway.
Yeah I think so too mate but I won’t give up and I’ll still go for it to see what happens. Chips are all the same top 3 and myself all have our chips and WC left. I’m hoping those three won’t have a plan and don’t realise the blanks or dgws coming up but the top 2 are a father/son situation so I’m really fighting against two who will help each other and remind each other
True…
If I was you, I would start planning for the BGW’s & DGW’s well in advance…
Also, I would start playing the game in a more relaxed fashion (trust me it works->I ll elaborate a bit later) and start focusing on differentials…
A few GW’s with the correct Capo choice + throw in a differential or two in there -> can get you back on track…
You might not in your ML (as cca 200pts is a lot tbh), but at least you ll put in a good fight.
Nothing is lost. Not yet!
A single DGW can do a lot of damage (remember last year)…
So, stop “chasing” and start playing the game as you normally would.
And see where it takes you…
p.s. my 1st team has an OR of 60k, while my wife’s team(aka my 2nd team has an OR of 27K)…
While I take my 1st team more seriously, it is actually my 2nd team that is doing better…the one which I’m playing for fun with…
