Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 23. It’s a compact GW, beginning on Saturday and finishing on Sunday, for once, but that’s also for a good reason as we come back again on Tuesday for a midweek feast. Which is our main message this week; snooze or lose, basically.
Saturday sees the majority of games, with 8 in total. Watford and Spurs get us going in the early one, Newcastle and Chelsea see us out later on, with six others at 3pm, we won’t bore you with the actual details; they are all in the pic below.
The remaining two games are on Sunday with Burnley hosting Leicester before Man Utd haul their carcass to Anfield to try and recall what a proper football team looks like.
The games in full…
Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Oh dear I’m considering bringing in Haller for Abraham for next two game weeks with view to switch to Jimenez. Is this madness?
Gazanigga is going to need to be replaced very soon
I think he’ll get atleast 4 points. He’s always been in my options list. I am planning to do Jimenez to him, given Wolves’ tough fixtures ahead. Then, he can become DCL after GW24
Haller was one of the few WHU players I thought of a couple of weeks ago before I looked at their fixtures and took fright. If any of my standard forwards get injured before the next GW I may have a think.
Jiminez isn’t the worst player to have. The odd frustrating week but bad fixtures don’t seem to matter with Wolves and Jiminez. I like players where you don’t have to spend hours agonizing over whether or not their long-term fixtures merit selection, etc.
I’m letting fate decide whether or not I get a WHU player in – and even then I don’t think I’ll rush the decision.
Given their fixtures, the only Hammer I’d consider is Noble, purely for the fact that he is their penalty taker and cheap (and nasty!)
……. you say that now 😉
Two games this week then Brighton at home and then granted it loooks horrible
Not seeing it Smash.
I’m not sure just putting it out there
just one return in the last 5 and rough fixtures
Morning chaps. Early I know for DGW24 but this is where I am. £2.8mln in the bank and 1ft to get my 3rd Liverpool nob.
My choices are:
1) Robertson in for Kelly (Ward back) and defensive double up looks decent going forward;
2) Salah in for KdB;
3) Firmino in for Tammy.
Thoughts please if you can be arsed!
No 1 for me there Cookie
Honestly pal, I like them all.
Hope this helps. :slaphead:
3 I think
I’ll expand. I’m not convinced by losing KDB. By having Robbo in defence that leaves you too much money there with your set up. Firmino has decent away stats
I like 3 too, bobby Is been over looked a loves the odd goal and creates a lot of changes
Ud prob want it to be a long term move though Gavy wudnt u?
Not necessarily Dreamers. Me for example, I have him but may look to trade him to Salah longer term. I brought him in this weekend because he has great away numbers and it solved a potential Rashford problem.
See no reason you wouldn’t keep him until the next dgw is listed. 32 or so
3 for me cookie as that is who I am bringing in as my third liverpool player.
Jamie
Thanks all, I think between us we have ruled out KdB to Salah. Will see what happens this afternoon and hopefully get some pointers (ie let’s hope Firmino and Salah get sent off
)
Spot on Cookie :haha:
It might sound evil but I bet many secretly are hoping something to happen either to Firmino or Salah. That will reduce the pressure for having all of them :wink2:
I’m openly hoping something happens to Mane!
DMC, that will put the cat amongst the pigeons :laugh2:
There is hardly a team without him, it will be riots all around.
Cookie – I like the defensive double up but I agree with Smash in that it would leave you with too much money in defense going forward. Kelly is not a problem given the rest. I wouldn’t mind the KDB one IF you then want / will consider keeping both Salah and Mané and no City coverage for the foreseeable. If not, if it’s just hockey-cockey for the double I’m not sure I’d do it (especially not if you have relevant money invested in KDB). I suppose you don’t want to take hits here so the third option gives you a 3rd Liverpool man, with good away form and that keeps the team structure balanced.
The only caveat being my gut feeling that Salah is going to be the dgw hero as opposed to Mane but I may be bias because I have the former and not the later.
I’m sure this helped
Cheers DMC, my feeling for Liverpool is that they may not necessarily smash it in the the DGW, its the fixtures after that look ripe for the picking. And I see Salah as a player who destroys the lesser teams and doesn’t perform great in the bigger matches (flat track bully).
Going round in circles really lol!
Once United win today you’ll sell all those Liverpool assets in a fit of giddiness anyway Cookie.
Well that won’t happen GP
I hope it does happen. GGMU
Cookie – I would dispute that Salah is a flat track bully. This season alone he is yet to blank vs any of the current top 6 (he didn’t play vs Utd). He may have not destroyed those teams but that is something very rare (big teams getting destroyed by a player) if at all. In a way I hope people go hard on Mane because if that fails and Salah ticks I’m laughing. If it’s the other way round It’ll just add salt to what is already a big wound.
No. 3
Bobby has a decent record away from home and both his DGW games are away.
Any thoughts on what to do with Sidibe? Game time risk?
I think he’s always a slight game time risk with Coleman. However there are loads of decent fodders if he don’t play
He seems to be playing wb or right midfield so not really in competition with him in one sense.
Considering James despite the fixtures – just Sidibe has done well enough for me
Think I’d be fine keeping him and letting whatever back up you have coming in when he don’t play
Any thoughts here? One free transfer and nothing in the bank. Thinking of saving as I expect Gazanigga is going to need replacing
Abraham to Haller for a punt is all I really see there mate. Unless you do Traore to Snodgrass and play 343 for the week.
Either way, both are swaps and straight swap-backs I think.
Haller is under consideration because they play Brighton at home after and then can swap to Jimenez after that. Mainly because it’s easy swap though he’s far from in form and the double is tough
Wouldn’t touch it Smash in all honesty, your 4 at the back look good and, in my opinion, have a better than even chance of out scoring any Hammers players you maybe considering.
West Ham are a trap in my view and not a very subtle one.
Yeah thanks cookie think that’s what I’m leaning towards to. Also as I know Gazanigga is going to have to go maybe not this week or next as Lloris is back training
Lloris won’t be back till February so you have time.
Yeah prob needs to go after the Norwich game
Morning all, thought I’d throw this one open. I kind of blew up my GW24 plans by getting Aguero in which thankfully worked. Now I have to ditch him which was always the plan. Do I keep it simple and bring in Bobby or take a -4 to get Salah or Robbo? 1FT and £0.1
What does getting Salah involve?
Aguero to Greenwood and fleck to Salah and switching to 352
Like so
I am thinking this could be the move, with Ings looking very likely to be rested and Rashford looking to be out I could start Greenwood against Burnley over Ings
Actually if the news about Rashford is true I really like that
Or get a defender in by downgrading Martial?
I could but I like Martials fixture and I don’t think going down to say Doucoure is worth it for a defender
ya I her you – just if I had a player that scored 5 in 2 games, I’d be slow to lose him
Keep it simple and go for Awayday Bobby :good:
Risco – are you really going to sell someone that has just scored 5 goals in 2 matches?
*Rosco!!
Risco would be cool too though. Reminds me of that board game which goal is to conquer the world.
Sure am! It’s a double GW man!! Unless you can see a better move!
I could do this? Martial and Dunk out ! Who knows!
