Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 24. Time to get the show on the road once again and we start down at the south coast for the lunchtime fare as Chelsea visit Brighton. Six 3pm matches follow as top-6 stragglers Arsenal host the slowly improving Crystal Palace, Man Utd take the short trip to Burnley, Everton welcome West Brom, Leicester entertain Watford, Stoke clash with Huddersfield and in what should be a more entertaining affair, Bournemouth go to West Ham.

The evening match sees Newcastle entering the lion’s den as they look to stop Kun, KdB et al at the Etihad. Sunday sees just one fixture and it’s another London team travelling south as Spurs go to Southampton.

Our game-week concludes on Monday with Swansea hosting free-scoring Liverpool.

  1. Welcome to a fresh new page!

  2. Now this may not catch on but let’s see …

We’ve all had our avatars for a while … I for one haven’t changed mine since joining about 7/8? maybe more years ago

Mainly I end up chatting to either Football teams, players, non avatar enthusiasts and a plethora of primates!

    Time to mix it up?

    A) Actual photo’s of the user?
    B) A legend of the team they support?
    C) Other ideas?
    D) Do one Mad Hatter and leave the JD alone for a while, it’s nearly midnight and we’ve already been discussing some kind of intervention?
    E) Is this the queue for the ice creams?

    • D!

It’s fine as it is. I recognise users from their gravs. I reckon if you showed me a 100 now I’d get 95 correct, at least. In fact, thinking about it I reckon I’d get 100!

We do still have some people though who have been regulars on here for years who still don’t have one! I find that strange. Joanne springs to mind. Not to single her out, although I just did smile

      • If you have an avatar, does it not appear on other sites (not FPL) that you use?

        • Just this one and Ann Summers apparently

        • It can do, yes. I’ve seen mine appear on sites on which I haven’t actually registered to, officially. I think it picks up your email address if you ever subscribe to anything. Mine appears on FPL Discovery. I’m not a registered member as such but I get their email notifications.

        • You’re a Joanne too!

        • I’ll take that as a compliment Init smile

          I still can’t find a suitable Leprechaun

        • ?

        • ??

        • Are you handing out complements Init 😉

      • N) a pic of their favourite sandwich filler …

      • What about al of the ones (like myself) with Liverpool badges?

    • Yay I have one now too! I am always curious as to what people look like, I have a made up image of you all smile

      • To be fair it took me 4 years to comment so maybe in another 2 I may even be confident enough to have an opinion :p

      • Beautiful!!
        Maybe we should all
Post a picture to satisfy your curiosity!

      • Bloody hell, take a break for a day and the place has turned into Facebook smile

Nice one on the grav Joanne.

And on a serious note Facebook / Twitter is probably your answer for that. I know what most of these ugly b@stards look like from one of those outlets laugh Go find me on FB (page in pic below) and you’ll probably find a fair few of the members, or at least certainly the writers in my friends list.

Just a warning on Mito though, don’t stare directly at his picture, use a mirror or something, he’s hideous :hippo:

  3. Hello all, soem advise…

    1FT 0ITB

    Pickford
    Jones Alonso Otamendi Clark
    Son Arnatovic Salah Sterling
    Kane Firmino

    Elliot Carroll Ayew Chilwell

    Do I

    A. Kane -> Aguero
    B. Son -> Martial
    C. Save

    • A for me

    • 3 is very good for the next 3 games. I’d wait til after city play tomorrow. But douth aguero will start city been 1 up

  4. Calvert-Lewin seems to have lost his place in Everton so it’s time to get rid of him.

Ayew seems to be the best option to replace him since he always plays and swansea has pretty ok fixtures comming up after next weekend.

The only other option is Niasse, but will he play?

Are there any other options? Who’s to choose? 5,2 itb…

    • Ayew is probably the best bet or Crouch

    • Ayew is the only real option at that price unless Quaner starts playing for Huddersfield. Wilson is a good option but you’ll need an extra 0.6 for him

  5. 2 FT and 0.7 in the bank .
So yealy i know but what do you think?
    1. Eriksen and Lingard to Silva and Pogba
2 Eriksen and Kane to Kun and Mahrez (would leave me with 2.1 mill left´to upgrade defence and get Kane back later)
3 Eriksen and Massauku/Kenny to Silva and Jones
    Or any other options

    • wafflez

I’m considering Kane to Aguero myself for short-term gain so I must admit I love the sound of your option 2 there.

    • Wafflez. I think I would hold if I were you until Wednesday night and we know who gets through to the EFL final and the resultant blanks.

      • +1
Agree with both Horse & GP.
        Wait until Wed.
        Otherwise,option 2.

      • For the cup final, ideally it would be Manchester City v Arsenal in the final for FPL terms as they are scheduled to meet inn the league that weekend anyway. Even if it’s City v Chelsea in the final, then only Arsenal v City and United v Chelsea would be postponed.

    • Thanks for the replys I will wait until Friday to do any moves smile

      • Wafflez, don’t do owt on Friday, its FA cup weekend. Next gw starts on Tuesday 30th Jan.

  6. Hi guys, I’m keen to see more green arrows but I feel my team could do with tweaking so any suggestions would be welcome.

    • Aguero in for Kane and you are sorted as you still have Son for Spurs cover and he generally does well at home . I would love to have both Kane and Aguero but it looks a bit tough here.
