Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 25

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 25. Lovely jubbly, another midweek game-week. There’s always something special about these. Whether it’s games under the lights or just that it breaks up the mundane working week we don’t know but either way they always feel special.

We begin with 3 games on Tuesday with Swansea unashamedly prepping London busses for Arsenal, Moyes spitting feathers in an attempt to find 11 available players to face Palace and Huddersfield fearing the worst against Klopp’s juggernaut.

And then we have a bumper Wednesday with 7 games, all done and dusted within a short few hours. Maybe it’s that finality that is so attractive, but then that may depend on on how it pans out for you. Either way, enjoy!

Wednesday itself sees Chelsea host Bournemouth with many simply waiting to see what Christensen’s latest comical way of lasting 59 minutes is, and screwing us all over in the process. Big Sam’s lumbering Everton host a newly invigorated Leicester, Newcastle and Burnley will probably play out an inevitable stalemate, Saints and Brighton have a derby (as such, just the small matter of 66 miles separating them!) and Spurs vs Man United could potentially be the game of the round. It could also very well be 0-0! And finally Watford’s fancy new Spanish manager Javi Gracia will no doubt fulfil a life long ambition of seeing whether he can indeed cut it on a cold Wednesday night in Stoke.

  1. Hi Guys,
Just wondering what peoples thoughts on Nick Pope are? I have Pope/Elliott combo and 1.1m ITB , I was thinking of changing Elliott to Begovic, But will Pope hang on to his place. I also have RLC and Masuaku to sort. Any replies would be appreciated. Thanks.

    • I don’t think Pope will hang on to his place and once Heaton is fit, Pope will revert to back up. Heaton is due to play in Under-23 games soon so his return is maybe only a few weeks away. As you also have Elliot, I would upgrade a goalkeeper but long term lay offs for the other two mean they probably need dealing with soon as well.

      • Thanks Gp. Pope probably dropped after the weekend so. Appreciate the reply.

  2. Not sure if anyone mentioned about Lucas Moura to Spurs. 23-25mil? What a steal!

    • One to monitor Coys. Quality player, no doubt.

      • Quite surprised that Spurs seemed to have a free run on him.

  3. More FPL players

    • Thanks DMC.

Not much there I would say you need to jump on from the off.

      • Laporte seems good value but yeah Pep rotates more than a carousel so he can’t be seen as nailed on yet I guess. Strait in the XI with lots of manager praise but I see Stones is ill meaning he may have been forced to play Laporte rather than it being a genius move. He did say something about him being left foot though so if he starts the next couple of games he could be a gem.
Ndong could be good value as a 5th mid enabler if he secures a spot. I believe he had a couple of goals on him when at sunderland had he not?

        • On Laporte – I have Otamendi so I don’t see any need to jump.

N’Dong scored once in 36 at Sunderland. Think he is more likely to see red than the scoresheet. (back to 2011 he has scored 5 goals and collected three reds/31 yellows).

        • Yeah – I meant for those like me that don’t have city defensive cover

  4. Morning all ! Any thoughts on this shambles ? Obviously Christensen has to go.0.1m short to do a straight switch to Jones so was thinking of getting rid of dead wood Kenny to Chillwell which will give me the .1m to get Jones.Wasnt expecting much from the United boys this week but was disappointed with Sanchez ! If he cant get anything against our woefull lot then there is some thing wrong !

    • Not sure you want to go all 3 Utd here. Fixtures are ok I guess but suddenly Jones doesn’t seem so appealing for me. Perhaps Maguire? 3 easy home games in his next 4 and just the City away in there. If you can bench him on that one happy days. Unless you do want to take the Chilwell route you mentioned. Yeah, that also gives you the CS potential for those games and saves you a penny or to. Which then would allow you to reassess Chirstensen’s replacement in two weeks. Yeah, I’d do that, possibly. You just know the risks there though with Fuchs wandering around.

      • Cheers Dmc yeah 3 United not ideal but am probably looking at cutting Lingard loose going forward.A few tricky fixtures ahead but, barring last night they can keep a clean, sheet against anyone.Could just go Christensen to Chigwell and sort Kenny out later which would free up some cash to potentially do Lingard to Walcott though it would leave me a little light in defence !

    • Are your planned defensive moves for free or do they cost you -4 brooky?

  5. Hi all!
Who’s the most interesting new player or an old player in a new team in PL after deadline day?
From a FPL point of view of course….

Personaly I just sold Arnautovic for Walcott….

    • Walcott is definitely up there but one person I’m going to keep an eye in is Sturridge. If he can stay fit (it’s a big if!) then he could be a brilliant choice up to as he would not get benched at all.

    • I think it may be Walcott actually.

  6. I’m into the final of my works last man standing and I’m not sure who to pick this weekend haha, i can’t choose United, Liverpool or Leicester.

    Any tips? ?
