Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26. No double games to contend with this week, just a straight forward set of 10. The last lot before we get rudely interrupted by the FA Cup again, but pay attention this time as what occurs in that may well impact hugely on what occurs in FPL later on with blank and double game-week ramifications all over the shop.
Saturday begins with two teams enjoying contrasting fortunes since they recently changed their managers as Fulham host Man United.
Saturday afternoon’s highlight, from a purely footballing perspective, will be watching Liverpool try not to choke completely against Bournemouth. Fail this test and we may as well just hand the title to City at 5pm. Elsewhere Palace and West Ham contest a derby, Huddersfield will continue their descent to the Championship against Arsenal, Saints and Cardiff have an almost literal six pointer and Watford will go all out to hang ex-boss Silva out to dry.
The final game of the day is Brighton vs Burnley, we guess there is some mild relegation interest at stake but beyond that we are struggling to either see the attraction or indeed why this is on TV. Even Brighton and Burnley fans will be hard pressed to avert their gaze if they have spent the afternoon painting walls…
Sunday should hold more interest though, Spurs Lite and Leicester kick us off nicely at 1.30pm before the main attraction at 4pm as Sarri takes his Chelsea balls to Man City for a lesson in motivation.
We continue into Monday this week as Wolves look to continue where they left off against Everton as Newcastle come to town, perhaps with a shiny new signing on show in the shape of Almiron.
The games in full…

The League Codes for FF247 for the 2018/19 season are as follows –
Hey – just remind me that City aren’t really playing in GW 27, please? Just saw that Mr Consecutive Hat Tricks is leading the list of players transferred in! Are they insane? Do they really want to bump up Sergio’s price for people like me, who would like to get rid of him for just one week, and….oh yeah, what a good idea – I’ll play the blinking Free Hit chip!!!! ‘Oh yeah, it was like lightning, everybody was frightening, and they all started moving…..then the man at the back said ‘everyone attack…’ (that is roughly paraphrased from Ballroom Blitz, Innit, by The Sweet, 1974 or 1975 I think!)… good idea!
The smile says it all GP. Wholehearted Caledonian support in an emoji! Hope weather’s okay up north there! Maybe I should have quoted from The Proclaimers??? I heard ‘500 miles’ being played at Murrayfield a couple of years ago when the Scots scored a try. It must have been magic to have been there! I think maybe ‘I’m on my way from misery to happiness’, fits in with my current rather optimistic outlook!
You have to smile mate, especially at yourself.
Love a day out at Murrayfield (except yesterday).
Weatherwise, we’re wet here just now unsurprisingly!
Laporte on the rise as well…bizarre
Can Pool manage to win the league? The way City has picked up, they look in absolute momentum.
Yep. They just have to win all their games.
+ 1
+2
No!
Well City did make that monumental Xmas break stumble, by losing against 3 pretty ordinary teams (sorry you supporters of those 3 supposed ordinary teams!) – too much Xmas turkey I suppose! They’ve certainly coming back with a vengeance, haven’t they? Should be an interesting last 1/3 of the season! With Spurs beckoning as well…
Sane not a happy man
😆
He’s got that ‘I’m about to spit the dummy’ look on his face! Still a wonderful player though!
After all these suddenly in next match PEP will bench Aguero and Sterling….and play Sane. Next 3 matches are Newport, Schalke and Chelsea. God knows what will happen in Gw28 vs WHU.
That’s the reason why I think I’ll keep him on my bench and monitor his gametime between now and the deadline after next.
Aguero will start against Schalke & Chelsea.
Got to agree with this.
Want rid of Sane, problem is I can’t see a clear replacement and the one I want (Sterling) I just cannot afford!! Might have to just keep him and hope him and pep kiss and make up!!
That won’t happen Rosco. He’s way down the pecking order atm and given the form he was before that it must be something other than tactics/team management. Get rid or save FT and buy Sterling if you can.
I just can’t afford sterling, the only one who you could justify (and that’s at a push) is Robertson but he’s a differential im my ML so seems counter productive, thing is who else would I get for him!? Not sold on anyone!
KDB?
Bin Rashford Rosco, get a cheapie in.
Mane.
But you already have 3 Liverpool. Oh well.
He can’t bin Rashford!!!
@Rosco -> Sane+Kun to Laca+Sterling should get you there 😉
£0.1 shy of KDB and as you say I’ve hit 3 pool! Tricky isn’t it!
Feel like this decision could make or break my season, if I could just get somebody who my ML don’t have, Sterling would be ideal as I have more money than them but it’s just not looking possible!
I thought you broke your season last week?
HL that was my plan prior to the city game but I don’t want to lose Kun, I may bin Fabianski to get the £0.1m to get KDB in, although I’m not convinced he’s doing enough to warrant his price. Eriksen is an option but they have tough fixtures coming up.
I may drop down to a cheaper player and invest in my defence, basically no idea!
Well, given that you have Aguero, Sterling is less needed. You can’t get him without downgrading Pogba or Son and that’s just not smart. So, the single Sane to someone is the logical move here. Whether you do it now or save to reassess is up to you (you can feature a decent XI in bgw27), but if you end up in the Anderson camp than now is the time, at home to Fulham.
Agree with DMC. And not having Auba may be more painful next GW than it has been this.
