Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26. And we are back already! We hope the midweek games treated you kindly but if not, don’t worry, we are straight into another GW so it can all be forgotten. And then probably all repeated again, just in case you forgot already!
We begin with Burnley hoping that their bus is big enough to contain Man City’s juggernaut. It won’t be.
We then have five 3pm games and all are much a muchness in terms of calling a winner with perhaps the exception of Man Utd hosting Huddersfield but try calling the others and you’ll be lucky to get 1 right.
Saturday evening will surely see Theo stick one up Arsene as the Gunners pay tribute to one of their most prolific players of recent times in terms of goals and assists but whom of Wenger decided it was better to play the likes of Iwobi and Xhaka instead of. More fool him, as per usual these days.
And then onto Super Sunday…. Crystal Palace vs Newcastle. Hmmmm. Ok. The less said the better!
It should all liven up a bit later on though as Liverpool play host to Spurs.
Our game-week then concludes on Monday with Watford at home to Chelsea. Watford are on a horrible run of form and Chelsea have just been spanked at home by… Bournemouth. As you do. Second guess this one at your peril.

I knew I should have listened to my head and not my gut and brought in Mkhi. Although my gut did tell me to bring in Joao Mario so it’s not all bad. Which of these options would you guys prefer?
A. Sterling -> Mkhi
Firmino -> Kane
Keep Kun
B. Firmino -> PEA
Kun -> Kane
Keep Sterling
C. Sterling -> Mkhi
Kun -> Kane
Keep Firmino but no city cover

I can get that trio easily money wise but it’s who do I drop in midfield.

Are you taking into consideration that spurs v arsenal will be a highscoring game?

No I’m just going on future fixtures and both Arsenal and Spurs have decent fixtures coming up. A bit worried about no City though.

Also prefer C with City’s fixtures and subsequent rotation worries. Would consider Pogba going rather than Sterling though.
Planning to use the Free Hit in GW31 then?

Yeah I’m thinking Pogba out now tbh. I haven’t even thought about the Free hit actually but I might do.

Got Kun & Bobby and working on a plan to get Aubameyang in GW29. Looking for Ramsey but maybe unaffordable

If arsenal doesnt have a blank GW in 31, i would be bringing in PEA in GW29. For that to happen, leicester needs to lose their fa cup game against Sheffield united which seems possible.

This week Firmino and Kun to Kane and PEA for a -4 then next week do Pogba to Mkhi. Let’s me have Utd cover for the Newcastle game and no -8.

As a fellow Liverpudlian, I feel firmino will be effective against southampton next GW.

Given that you are binning healthy top team players that can score two digit hauls any time and that have better fixtures than the other top team players that you are buying have worse fixtures I would avoid any hits here.

Then Firmino to PEA over 3 weeks?

Yeah I’d do it over 3 weeks. Not sure one of those is the next one given Kun’s better fixture than Kane’s. Perhaps hold fire on 27, buy Kane for Kun on 28 and then the Arsenal duo on 29. Given Arsenal’s two next I don’t think you need to rush those moves, also bearing in mind that Firmino has 3 good fixtures between 27and 29.

I do not have my 2nd WC intact but plan to use my free hit chip in GW 35. For GW31, what do you guys suggest the max starting players i should have? I may be using a formation of 3 – 3 -1 with no goalie for GW31

the is my current squad.
I am planning to have walcott and zaha replace kdb and lingard.
Vardy upgraded to firmino and mcburnie upgraded to wilson.
happy for you to give a different viewpoint or suggestions to prep for 31.

So you have 4/5 likely BGW players at the moment (Salah, Gomez, Hegazi, Schindler and Kenny).
You have 5 transfers from now which could give you 10 without any hits, and 1 or 2 upsets in the cup could mean you have a starting 11 anyway so I think you’re in quite a good position.
The transfers you’ve suggested all make reasonable sense, wouldn’t rush to drop Vardy or KDB too soon though until you know they’re blanking.

Was planning to do Vardy to Firmino next week as i think he will blank against man city. Although if leicester loses their fa cup game, it will be leicester v arsenal in gw31 in which I could either bring in Mikhi, ramsey or PEA.

To be totally fair I haven’t looked at 31 yet. There are too many games and points to be accrued between now and then. Also, there are cup games to be played that will determine how many blanks, if any, in 31, so yeah, too early for me.

You have a good point DMC. Once cup games are done, I plan to use GW28-31 to bring in players who I think will be good for 31 and also for 32.
I assume you have your WC active so your in a better position than me in some way.

Yeah I do have but I’m not, when discussing 31, as I’m surely not using it for that one.

If you don’t plan on using your Free Hit in GW31, you kind of have to think about GW31 now.
Even if we don’t know exactly who will blank and who won’t, there are 2 guaranteed fixtures (Liverpool Watford and Stoke Everton) and a few very likely blanks (with the 5th round fixtures), and with only 5 free transfers between now and then, you can’t leave it to the week before to think about (unless you get really lucky with 5th round results).
