Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 26. And we are back already! We hope the midweek games treated you kindly but if not, don’t worry, we are straight into another GW so it can all be forgotten. And then probably all repeated again, just in case you forgot already!

We begin with Burnley hoping that their bus is big enough to contain Man City’s juggernaut. It won’t be.

We then have five 3pm games and all are much a muchness in terms of calling a winner with perhaps the exception of Man Utd hosting Huddersfield but try calling the others and you’ll be lucky to get 1 right.

Saturday evening will surely see Theo stick one up Arsene as the Gunners pay tribute to one of their most prolific players of recent times in terms of goals and assists but whom of Wenger decided it was better to play the likes of Iwobi and Xhaka instead of. More fool him, as per usual these days.

And then onto Super Sunday…. Crystal Palace vs Newcastle. Hmmmm. Ok. The less said the better!

It should all liven up a bit later on though as Liverpool play host to Spurs.

Our game-week then concludes on Monday with Watford at home to Chelsea. Watford are on a horrible run of form and Chelsea have just been spanked at home by… Bournemouth. As you do. Second guess this one at your peril.

  1. I thk it’s a low scoring wk all round 17 for me 5 to go 😉

  2. Palace v Newcastle

  3. Afternoon strangers.
I’m back from my Lord Lucan episode; hope everyone is okay.
Had an awful FF week with only 14 points *sigh* some things never change ha.

    • Milbs! Great to see you mate. Where’ve you been?! You’ve been missed anyway, which is always nice. If it helps then 14 is decent compared to some we’ve heard from smile

      • Combination of a new job and hibernating over the winter period.
Well you’re very kind, appreciate that. Saying that I’d probably appreciate 3 points today even more. It’s getting rather tight in the bottom in half.

    • Welcome back my friend! I too have 14 points, we can be shit geordies together!!

    • No idea if either of you ever listen to the Ramble but this episode may be right up your street. Defo worth a listen.

      • I’m not but I’ll give it a listen for sure!

      • The Mike Ashley years… that sounds depressing.
Can’t say I have but I’ve downloaded it there; it’ll entertain me driving down to smoggy land tomorrow.

      • Worth listening to it weekly, they’re very funny, but that one is particularly relevant for you two. It’s a bit of a one off, they explain why, the twice weekly ones are different, they simply discuss the fixtures gone on a Monday and then the fixtures ahead on a Friday. Probably my favourite podcast that.

  4. Well doesn’t this game week just suck! I’m on 14 from 7! I’m heading for my worst ever GW score! Nothing can save me!!

    • The 4 remaining players can…. 😉

      • I’m not sure they can save me! Maybe make it less shit! So shit but not as shit as it could be! Think 26 is my worst score ever, so you never know!

  5. Geordie people. Thoughts on Kenedy?

    • Just watching him for the first time, looks our best player (not saying much I know!) could be a great 5th mid at his price.

      • That’s the spot I’m looking at. Heard good things about him last week. Not actually watching right now (on DIY duty!), how many set pieces is he on?

        • He’s so far only took a left sided corner ( Shelvey took one from the right) no FKs yet but I’ll keep you posted. Perez is getting the assist but that was harsh IMO. Def on my agenda as I still have RLC!

        • Thanks

        • What’s the verdict now that he was early subbed?

  6. What are people’s thouhts regarding the blanks and transfers? In my opinion 35 is the best time to use the FH if you plan on using your WC in preparation for the doubles, but that means all transfers from now till BGW31 should really be prioritized on players with a game that week. I can’t decide if it’s better to focus on that or think ‘it’s just one week’ and not forgo form players I.e. Mkhitaryan, as it’s better to have 4 Games with better players, than focus on getting players solely for 1 game and potentially missing out in the preceding weeks.

    • Of course. As you said. I feel plans should be made prior to just like 1GW.

    • Hi Rosco. I never got to hear your explanation for why GW35 is best. Flew to Cyprus early on Saturday so haven’t been online. Brooky gave me good ideas about it all. I would love to hear your thinking too.
For myself I don’t know which GW is best. So I am hedging my bets. I have Salah Firmino Theo Shak and potentially Quaner to play in GW31. I hope to hold my next transfer until after 5th round of FA Cup. So I will know if Man City and Arsenal blank in GW 28, who will blank in GW 31 and who is likely to blank in GW35 too.

      • Hey Horse, I’ll give you my thinking and hopefully it’s not too confusing!
So The first DGW is in 34, it’s likely to be the best one to use your BB so you’re best using your second WC to set up for that in 32/33. However most of the teams that have a double in 34 will them have a blank in 35. So for me you’re better to Build a team towards 31 and get in as many players with a game. The WC in 32/33, bench boost in DGW34, use free hit in 35 and then get your team back in GW36, a lot of the teams that double in 34 will do so in 37 so you’ll be set for that, pocket a transfer and head into DGW37 with 2FTs. Hope this makes sense!

        • Yes actually that does. Do you plan to TC in GW 37 too?

        • Yeah that’s the plan, obviously if the teams players dictate it then it could be TC in 34 and B.B. in 37 but I’ll decide that nearer the time!

        • I love the whole DGW and BGW madness. It’s good to have a plan for it all but keep a bit of flexibility too. Hopefully we will rise a few places in the process.

    • What about free hit in 38. A lot of league positions will already be decided. Those teams with nowt to play for could be subject to massive rotation. Get the team news and FH accordingly.

      • Could be a great alternative depending on who gets the doubles and when they play. Obviously if 35 is a bust then I’ll save it, but essentially I think at the minute 35 over 31 seems to better use!

      • That’s not a bad idea either Elle

      • Rosco, don’t get tag teamed by old logic. Horse and Elle like to prey on the young.

        • We have to respect our elders though! 😉

        • Us old heads know a thing or two smile #backintheday

        • Just out of interest how old/ young ARE people on this forum? I am a mere 51 years old.

        • *In a nice way.

Legal team sent me to say that Mito. Don’t want us going all 70’s TV personalities now smile

        • @Init – maybe you can make a poll re:Horse’s question about everyone’s age ?
          smile

      • 57.

        • 36.

        • 64 living the life in Spain waiting for Spring to arrive.Get all the 3pm kick offs on Tv from USA ,Canada and Asia and if LFC aren’t on its a difficult choice but can flick the channels and bob in and out. All the goals at half time and full time but MOTD is better on Sunday morning catchup!

        • @Kruzkampo – 64 is this your age or pts in this gw smile ?
We were discussing age and is hard to believe you are 64 )))))

        • 64 is it!
