Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 27. This is the first of the so called ‘blank weeks’ when a few teams miss out on fixtures. This particular one is because Man City and Chelsea face off in the Milk Cup Final and subsequently both Everton and Brighton get to sit it out too. If this comes as a surprise to you (Hi Raz!) then don’t say we didn’t mention it once or twice in our articles this week. Right after giving yourself a good old slap in the face.

What it does mean is that we have just eight games this week, and rather unusually we begin with two on Friday night. In fact, we think this is the first time this has ever happened. Cardiff face Watford and Fulham play West Ham, so let’s just hope it wasn’t some sort of deliberate marketing tool to draw in viewing numbers…

Burnley and Spurs get us going in the early one on Saturday prior to a paltry two games in the traditional 3pm slot as Bournemouth host Wolves (fantasy relevant) and Newcastle host Huddersfield (not!). Leicester and Palace play in the late one.

Sunday does look a bit more enticing as Arsenal play Southampton mid afternoon before the tie of the weekend sees the GW out on Sunday with Liverpool going to Man Utd to try and make the most of their game in hand. No idea who Man Utd fans actually prefer to win this one!

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 27 from all at FF247!

Just watched the final minutes of B’mouth vs Wolves and boy what an odd sequence of events in the last 10m.
First, the ref gives wolves a penalty that absolutely wasn’t a foul; he then gives on to B’mouth for an outside of the box foul – which King misses; and then the water system entered the fray in the last seconds!

Wasn’t sure on the Wolves one, I take it he didn’t actually touch him then? I’ve not seen MOTD yet and there’s only one angle on the Sky App. Doherty went down clutching his leg but it did all look a little like ‘boy who cried wolf’ with his furtive glances at the ref in the midst of his ‘agony’!

Fraser one was outside, no doubt, justice was served there.

      • DMC says:

Doherty took the shot and then fell over the B’mouth player that was sliding beside him. There was contact, at the end of it, after the shot, and it was caused by Doherty. One could say he was smart to go down like that and that the ref fell for it.

Didn’t see it but blimey I’m grateful to Wolves and their players this season for the points they’ve brought in. The gift that keeps giving.

I keep worrying, unnecessarily, that they’re going to start chilling out.

      • Frenchie says:

Same here. Makes me wonder if I should keep them even for GW31, just in case they manage to score points while not playing somehow.

        • Kralin says:

          I’d put nothing beyond them.

I’ll probably bench Doherty and Jiminez and move out the goalie.

Jiminez isn’t a bad captain choice at all for 28, other than everyone will captain either Kun or Salah (if they have any sense).
