Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 28.
And then there were 8…
If you’re arriving here wondering what on earth the above title is about then you either haven’t been paying attention or you are in for a big shock; basically Arsenal, Aston Villa, Man City and Sheffield United aren’t with us this week due to the Milk Cup final on Sunday.
We do still have a relatively full GW which spans 3 days though and it begins on Friday evening with Leicester licking their lips at the prospect of facing a now notoriously leaky Norwich.
We have the usual Saturday structure beginning with a lunchtime KO between Brighton and Palace before Bournemouth welcome Chelsea, Burnley go to Newcastle and West Ham host the Saints, all at 3pm. Watford and Liverpool see us out in the late game.
Sunday has just the 2 games, both at 2pm due to the aforementioned, and now traditional, trouncing of insert any team name (Villa) by City at Wembley. For the record the games are Everton hosting Man United and Wolves visting Spurs.
The games in full…

I feel almost ashamed to post my ‘amazing’ score of 27.. Things will balance themselves tonight no doubt so unless you’ve got no one left to play there’s probably no need for ALL THAT doom n gloom, as amusing as it might be to read. And remember, it can always be worse Pep talk over.
That is astonishingly good, the equivalent of a ton in a normal week (in the sense on an easy pitch we’d have all cashed in but it turned out to be a sticky dog yesterday).
And yes, many here went for Bruno this week who could well be munching his cornflakes as I write, preparing himself for a rescue mission.
Bruno is my captain this week so I hope you’re right!
28 points with jimenez, Saiss and Bruno (C) to go. Should be a green arrow for once….
Could be a masterstroke, AllanBrallan. Best of luck and I hope it works out.
(I am looking more at United a game or two in the future as they have a very nice final set of fixtures.)
Kralin, if ever it so happens that I understand the ENTIRETY of your posts I’ll eat my hat or cast MOTD in Watford yellow undies or perform some other culturally (English of course) acceptable silliness. Having said that it is of course entirely my lacking so do continue to ‘come as you are’ with your usual fearlessness 😉
I need two high scoring games today. Currently on 18 (-4) (+6 Lascelles for Vardy) but my ML opponent on 25pts has two MU defenders and I have Jimi DCL Bruno Rich plus Traore if he turns up.
Alonso has got 4 goals, 3 assists and 4 CS in the 10 games he’s featured in. One of those was for 1 minute so basically 9 games.
Is he worth a punt? Acknowledging his game time could drop to 0 at any point…
If he gets the minutes he’s probably a ”must have” with those fixtures.
I’m a still a bit worried about those minutes, but I’ll bring him in anyway…
Chelsea have lacked goals so he’s almost certainly played himself into that team for the foresseable. He’s also out of the CL which helps with rotation. Then again Chelsea are almost out it anyway so that’s good for one game in GW30 as they almost certainly won’t have a GW31 fixture as both them and City would have to get knocked out of the FA Cup which won’t happen.
Worth a punt, but there might be more pressing things for most and raising the funds as well. So would likely be a real differential. If I was on a wildcard I would go for it, but can’t see it happening easily otherwise.
I’m staying out, his last two goals where on rebounds as far as I know and Chelsea have conceded in their last 8 games (and more often than not two goals conceded), or last six if you only care about PL. As such even if he is nailed on you more or less rely on assist and goals output and that seems a bit of a stretch. Feel free to mock me when he bangs one in yet again…
20 (-4) with Fernandez, DCL & Jimenez to come, top point scorer for me is Ben Foster! :biggun:
Any special articles planned for later this week when we know the GW31 fixtures? To free hit or not to free hit? In the past a free hit on a short week can be a bit of a disappointment, a bit like this GW, but on a double it can be explosive. It just depends if you can limp through the short week with enough. It probably depends if Pool play or not.
Start writing Stone Frog! Might help you work out the answer yourself.
And when you’re done and have reached a conclusion – do the exact opposite, that seems fitting for this season
Indeed perhaps something entitled ‘Don’t eat all your chips!’ And then to insanely gorge myself on WC in 29 and FH in 31.
7 players (13-4=)9 points, looks like I should retire, this way will not even get 15 this week. Trying to forget this GW…
It’s a widespread bad one I think GM. Don’t get too annoyed.
Nothing to be overly concerned by!
What are the chances that Wolves will smash Spurs? I have Jiménez, Saïss and Traoré, the latter I don’t expect to play.
I found out Vardy was injured at 1 minute to deadline and tried to bring in Jimenez, but ran out of time, so expect he will score well now.
