Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 28
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 28
Look, it’s a regular gameweek with no blanks or no doubles and to be honest some of us are so thankful for that.
This super normal GW kicks off on Friday when Toon play host to Emi “Lord of the Clean Sheet” Martinez, for non-owners he is known as “that bastard that kills me every week, but I am too stubborn to buy”.
Saturday gives us four more fixtures. Leeds tries to slow down a surging Chelsea side in the early game. Palace then takes on West Brom which is followed by Everton welcoming in Burnley and the day is capped off with Fulham taking on Pep’s XI, whatever that might be that day.
Sunday also gives us four encounters. Saints tangle with Brighton, Leicester dismantle Sheffield, Arsenal and Spurs square off in the North London Derby and 2nd place Manchester United face off vs the 5th place Hammers in the late one.
Monday sees a close to the gameweek when Wolves takes on the 3 points out of their last 21 Liverpool. Geez!
The games in full…

Should have been the way round but we’ll take it

Agree…what to do.
Btw, when do you plan to WC? I was hoping to do that in gw 30 or 31…but I just looked at BGW 33 and that makes things rather difficult.
Loud Atlas
That order is fine by me
!

Would it be worth selling City player’s soon?, League is Basically done, if they progress further in the champions League alot of the main starters won’t be playing in the league I wouldn’t have thought
Kralin
Their players will need to be kept in trim though, one would have thought.
Aarron13
Currently in the hunt for 4 trophies here, alot of Pep roulette will happen
Kralin
Stack that subs’ bench high, A13.
But do keep us posted if you cut the cord.
Smash
Yeah just more reason to get playing bench players. I was considering dropping down to two but it’s not pressing.
Aarron13
Think I should get rid of Sterling go down to two City players
Kralin
Personally I will stick with the two defenders, plus Gundogan, strategy for now.
If it ain’t broke then etc.
I can imagine the frustration of owning Sterling – especially if he’s fallen out with Pep – and can see the temptation of a rapid switch.
Zed Leppelin
I have Ederson and will keep him as defensive cover I think… Will most likely sell Cancelo as he’ll get rotated a lot… Gundogan I’m not so sure about yet, he’s so cheap…
Kralin
Seldom have City players been so enabling.
Zed Leppelin
Indeed!
ODT
Man I hope VC Kane will play.
Aarron13
If Kane don’t play I’ve got no subs Left, already had Gundogan and Captain Sterling that didn’t play
Gear
Hi all,
Appreciate its well in advance, but for those free hitting this week, what have you come up with?
Looks like budget isn’t an issue. It’s almost a struggle to spend it all
Ive landed on the below as a first draft. Thinking Brighton have a better chance of a clean sheet than villa, hence Sanchez. Targett is in there for potential attacking returns.
inittowinit
Be honest now… how many times was Targett a 3rd Brighton defender?
Kralin
I’m genuinely sorry you didn’t get your Raphinhahahaha headline.
Gear
Can’t lie, the triple was there until pretty much the end of the tinkering! It’s very tempting
banjomaker
It’s impossible to splosh the dosh isn’t it, gear. He’s my first stab. I must say, a more aggressive punt on Brighton defense is very tempting.
Kralin
Looks fine though you could have a punt on Lookman over Raphinha.
I would start Dunk – I think on paper the Brighton defenders are the ones to prioritise for 29.
OddDane
+1
Brighton will not be widely owned by non-FHs (doubt it at least), so there’s little downside to this punt too.
Smash
Yeah think I’ll double up on Brighton defence. I’m not brave enough to go triple but if Bamford is out I might punt on Maupay. I’d be playing Raphinha the guy just looks awesome every time he plays
Gear
Looks good there Banjo. Tierney is interesting, I like him as a player, just got a feeling Arsenal are going to concede. Much like villa really!
Smash
Think I had him but on bench
Kralin
I think that side is fine, though if FH I’d be more inclined to play Bamford (over one of your defenders).
Hard to know which of those defenders to drop – I’d keep Dunk in there and start chewing from that point.
But maybe the Bamford decision will be taken out of your hands.
OddDane
Looks good to me, though I don’t think I’d play Targett ahead of Bammy/Raphinhahaha
Stone Frog
As a general rule I’m not a fan of 4 at the back. I feel an extra attacker gives a higher ceiling.
Stone Frog
Need to move a defender on for GW29. Who would you ditch out of Stones and Alonso? Both are being rotated. Stones will need to go by GW33 anyway. Or I could ditch both now, but struggle to see a second option beyond Cresswell. 2FT, 4.0ITB, no WC, no chips.
Code 23-19
If Bamford is out a Fulham defender could be a good option
Stone Frog
Fulham also blank in GW33.
Code 23-19
In four game weeks you should be able to transfer players in that play to make it 11 in gw33
Smash
Yeah that put me off a Saints and Fulham defender which is partly why I ended up with Konsa
Stone Frog
I suspect with the doubles and the desire to ditch some Leeds players and navigating GW33, I will be stuck with who I bring in for some time. GW30 is fine with Dallas covering. Beyond that is tricky. Bri have Shu away in GW33, so Dunk did cross my mind.
Gear
I think that might be a good call
Stone Frog
Dallas actually has a good run from GW34. It may come down to the best option to cover GW29 and GW31-GW33.
Kralin
Dallas’ out-of-positioness – which I think is still the case – plus his still reasonable price – make him an almost perfect bench choice, as far as I can see. Not someone to fret over starting but a more than reasonable option when one of your City players is rested. Every now and again he’ll click and give you a decentish return – or as decent as you can expect for that price.
Leeds may go all deck-chairy in a bit, however.
Maybe there are better options but I don’t feel in massive need to move him on just yet.
Stone Frog
How nailed is Tierney?
Smash
Nailed. His issue is staying fit
