Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 29

Just the four games to trouble yourselves with this week, albeit they are spread over three days.

We begin on Friday with Fulaham welcoming Leeds. A contrast of styles if ever there was one, certainly on the touchline at least. Lady and the Tramp springs to mind. The Jacket vs The Bucket.

Saturday really just belongs to the FA Cup and as such we don’t get an actual FPL game until 8pm when Newcastle go to Brighton.

Sunday sees our final two games with West Ham vs Arsenal at 3pm and then Villa & Spurs finish our very short GW off at 7.30pm.

We then get a couple of weeks off as the International Break kicks in. We shall however no doubt have a few articles along the way to keep you entertained / informed.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for Gameweek 29 from all at FF247!

Thanks for reading Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 29.

    Hello everyone!
And thanks a lot for your work on the website. Like so many, I am mostly silent, but I pick lots of ideas from your articles and discussions!
Currently about 100K, and my plan was to bend my team towards GW29 (10 players actually playing), and then to WC.
So here is my first draft. 3.3 ITB.
I’d love to hear what you think about it!

I’m not sure if I am reading/interpreting this correctly, but if you’re planning for blank-gameweek29 the deadline was yesterday evening unfortunately

I mostly like this. Like the defence. I’m not sure on Iheanacho up top as read Barnes isn’t that long but still could be great. I’m not sure I’d bother with KDB personally. I think we will see him less and less in the league now as they go for the other competitions and he’s really expensive. But he could be a good placeholder for Salah this week. I still kind of think Salah has to come good looking at the fixtures.

      • Smash says:

Might as well go Forster as back up keeper too

      • Vinci says:

        Thanks a lot Smash!
I would prefer Vardy to Iheanacho, but I miss 1M for that. I could get it by downgrading Azpi to a 4.5, for instance.
As for Salah, I have been holding to him until recently, but since Xmas he has brought me nothing. He will wake up some day, but I prefer using the 12.5M somewhere else for now.
Excellent point for KdB. The eternal problem is who is more or less nailed for CIty, and it will only get worse…
And if my team stayed more or less like that with 3M or so ITB, I would indeed get a real second keeper.

        • Smash says:

I totally get that on Salah he’s been a disaster and yeah I should have sold him ages ago. However this run coming up is against all the sides that get hammered so I really think he comes good and I’d double up with Jota

        • Vinci says:

          Excellent point.
For now, I’d tend to hope that Jota would cover for that, and that worst case KdB would go for Salah… But I’ll definitely rework this team during the international break!

      • Smash, I knew that will never part with Salah.
You are the leader of the die hard Salah club pardon

      OddDane says:

Interesting, quite different from a similar plan on my end – many good options either way I suppose smile

My concern with the citeh boys is just rotation, they’re likely to perform if they play.

      • Smash says:

Yeah I love that. . I’d prob squeeze Dias in there instead of Stones. Which might mean Sanchez down to Forster and Targett down but think it’s worth it

        • OddDane says:

Hmm yes, fair point – I don’t have my BB left so my bench can soften a bit, this also gives me Semedo or Boly over Coady

      • Vinci says:

Yes, funny how different the teams are!
A reason for the difference is that you seem to look a lot at the fixtures, while I didn’t care too much.

I understand your choices. I particularly like that you do not overlook the Wolves like I do.
Personnaly, I would find TAA too expensive given his recent production, even with the great fixtures ahead. And you might like to have some Chelsea defense in there?
So I think that I’d do TAA+Stones->Rudiger+Dias in your case!

      • TheDreamers says:

Odd – you could still have Dias and Stones (over prob Coady) by sacrificing one of Neto or Adams. They will prob either play or not and your bench is sufficient to cover

        I like the TAA pick

        • OddDane says:

Thanks Dreamers, I think I’d want a full playing side on the front eight because of the crazy value and amount of options there, so any sacrifices will have to in the defense smile

      TheDreamers says:

Hi Vinci. I can see lots doubling up with Chelsea assets but with Mendy/Rudiger/Alonso as opposed to Azpi.

Two Villa seems a bit much with their fixtures. I’ve never liked the pick 7 from 8 attackers but thats just me

Lots of decent picks in there

      • Vinci says:

        Thanks TheDreamlers!
Azpi semt more nailed to me than Alonso… With less attacking returns, probably. As far as Mendy is concerned, I am fearing the headacke with Martinez. Martinez could get out of the visit to Stanford Bridge with 12 points if he doesn’t conceide, and even 4 if he does!
Great point for the double Villa defense. I liked Fulham+West Brom in the next 2, and a possible DGW if I am correct. But I indeed overlooked the Pool+City in-between!
Thanks, 2 weeks of tinkeing are only starting 😉

      • Vinci says:

And I am with you for the 7 from 8 pick. A ma afraid that Pep will solve the issue many times, though! smile

In the coming weeks is it worth getting rid of City players?, League is already over I can see pep resting alot in the league soon to go all out for the champions League

Is Forster the starting GK for Sou? or, still McCarthy will get some game?

Seriously considering switching McCarthy for Forster and playing BB this week. Can anyone think of a better upcoming week to play it?

Grealish out for this weekend. Link (https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/truth-jack-grealishs-injury-england-20217948) in the tweet also indiciates he “remains touch and go for the home match against Fulham on Saturday April 3”.

      OddDane says:

He could play or be out for the season. Dean Smith has admitted to holding back information, so I’d hold off before other sources indicate something new. The man cannot be trusted.

      • Smash says:

Think there’s to big a deal being made about him withholding info. He’s been back on training field. Prob training on his own. Prob not a straightforward injury and just not ready

        • OddDane says:

I mean he lied, and admitted to doing this purposely, then ranted about the fpl community and had the team guidelines restrict(/ban) the use of it. smile

I don’t mind it really, if he believes this is the best way to manage the team that’s fine.

For the purposes of fpl, I would not trust himgamer
