Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3.
Well looky here, we start on a Friday again. This time it is Aston Villa playing host to barely scoring Everton, but not to worry Toffee fans, nothing can fix an attack faster than a game vs the Villains.

Saturday brings us six fixtures. They kick-off with a lunch time meeting between Pukki mania and a team that gave Hazard’s number 10 to Willian. After that there is four 3pm games. Brighton vs Southampton is accompanied by Man United against Palace, the surprising Sheffield, match-up versus the Ayoze Perez led Leicester and Watford tangle with West Ham. The day is capped with the best game on paper when first place Liverpool plays first place Arsenal.

Sunday has three more fixtures in store for us. The early game sees Bournemouth get pummeled by City in a game that could see The Cherries 25th choice keeper Aaron Ramsdale get rammed up the…. The latter two games has Spurs take apart Toon and Wolves fight it out with Burnley.

The games in full…

  1. Morning all,
This is my team for next week. Just taken this screenshot and as you can see Ndombele is not highlighted as injured. However of I go into player details he is.
Is this a glitch or is everyone else having this issue too? I often check my team for injuries last minute at a glance so this is a problem
That aside who should I replace him with……… Or any others?
    Cheers
    Matt

  2. This is my team! Forgot to attach above

    • Don’t know whether you can afford Ndombele to Mount but that move really pops up… Otherwise it’s a good team!

    • Nice team Magic. I’d consider playing Cantwell ahead of Ceballos for this next game.

And yeah, I had the same ‘bug’ with Deulofeu in gw1 no the injury not being flagged.

    • Magic
      Yea I’ve noticed that.
      Ref your team,
      Looks really good tbh
I’d maybe try and get mount if Ndombelle is still injured?
Also do you need double Eve at the back?
Could downgrade Pickford and use the funds elsewhere?
      Good luck

  3. Despite many starting 4 at the back, defenders look tricky so far. For CS only Man City and may be Eve look good, everyone else has been leaky. Of course there is a attacking potential with some players, but only Digne and TAA have looked good so far.

    • Frog
      Good point
I think a lot are moving away from 4 premiums at the back with more value elsewhere..
Your right about TAA & Digne tho
I think you need at least one of those, both would be ideal.

      • The idea of players like Digne or TAA or Robertson is they haul big time occasionally, and it’s those hauls that make ’em the greatest value players in the game (or at least have made for the last few years, this season is obviously still a questionmark), so you gotta keep them long-term, it’s only been 3 games now, the idea is not to keep them for 3 games, the idea is to keep them for 15-20 games (or 38 if you like), then you’ll get those big hauls, keeping them for 3 weeks was always, from the start, a very bad idea, not good idea to try get lucky in this game, good idea is to play the statistics and likehoods imo!

      • Yeah from what I’ve seen so far I’m happy enough with Digne and TAA as they have returned. Robbo has been frustrating as he’s been really close but has nothing. All three maybe overkill which is the problem I have currently

  4. Morning all
Been taking this piss out of my son who’s a Man U fan :big-lol:
Didn’t watch them, Are they really that bad?
Why didn’t we see this coming?
Lots of teams (mine included) have Utd cover,
Why are they so shit atm?
    Martial /,Rashford /Pogba ?
Plus wan B seems a little card happy?
Should I swap him for Maguire or drop Utd cover all together?
    Discuss.

    • United have been like this for ages now, what has changed? 😉

      • That’s true
I thing the new defence signings, a younger attacking looking side and the Chelsea result kinda gave the impression they meant business… obviously not lol

    • ManU have not been great since Sir Alex retired….lots of optimism about Solskjaer but tbh he is unproven at this level.
Many great players under Sir Alex have failed to make it as great managers.
Actually pop-quiz question – Of the ex-Sir Alex players, who actually has a brilliant record as a manager?

      • Phil Neville got his team to a wc semi.?

        • Indeed he did. He inherited some very good women players. Is that the best that can be said?
Hughes, Bruce, Robson, Giggs, G. Neville, Strachan etc. Some good moments but difficult to put any of them at the top of a tree.

    • I think everyone just got carried away over the Chelsea game which really did flatter United. Saying that they are decent enough value but I certainly would not have three of their players

      • They’re a perfect hunting ground for value players as far as I can see. Someone like Martial, playing out of position, being a case in point.

I still can’t make my mind up about Chelsea and may dither until after the Liverpool game – after which they have a good run of fixtures. Though I suspect they’ll put in a good shift v Liverpool, if the Super Cup is anything to go by. Having said that Mount, in terms of value and potential points, looks a good one, but how nailed he is I’m not sure. I will be tempted by him if Martial is crocked.

        • Yeah I think both Martial (not sure on his injury) and Mount offer great value. CHO as well when he returns soon.

  5. Morning all, quite a disappointing first day of the gameweek so I’m hoping for miracles today, that being no Kane goals as I don’t own him! Ceballos let me down and I have Mane instead of Salah mainly due to price! I could get Salah in a couple of ways but wondering whether it’s worth it? Ceballos to Cantwell or similar price point and Mane to Salah or Robertson to 6m defender or Pieters and Ryan to 4m players. Thoughts?

    • No perfect advice, but it is often a fool’s errand to cause last week’s points

    • Ceballos was at Anfield was unlikely to do much. Saying that Cantwell has looked good I might bring him in just not sure who for

      • That’s my dilemma Smash! Wondering whether Ceballos just had an off game and longer term him and Mane will outscore Salah and Cantwell.

        • Think he just had an off game. Liverpool just dominated in midfield. Can’t really judge on that in isolation we know Arsenal will score goals. I do think Cantwell is a decent option. I’m always a bit bias on Salah over Mane as I always side with Salah even with the price difference there was last season let alone this season. Ultimately I just prefer Salah a lot more

        • Salah will outscore Mane and Sterling will outscore Salah.
