Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3.
Manchester ‘the new Arsenal’ United try and do better this weekend in the first fixture of the gameweek when they face Brighton, that 4th place won’t win itself you know.
That is followed by Palace taking on Everton. A match up of two low to mid table two teams tied for top of the league on points.
West Brom will be looking to get their first point of the season when they play host to Chelsea. The Baggies forwards will be on high alert in case the Chelsea keeper is looking for his second assist of the season.
In the last game of the day Burnley will take on Southampton and their revolutionary tactics.
Sunday sees four more fixtures all nicely spread out. The early game pits a team headed back to the Championship in Sheffield United versus a team who just came from the Championship in Leeds, should be a fun watch. Leeds will do their best to make it a 4-3 game while The Blades do their best to make it a -4 to -3 game.
Spurs versus Toon is next on the Sunday menu where the on, off, back on Son train will look to reward his fickle owners and the loyalists who were with him from day one.
Man City then takes on first place Leicester in what should be an intriguing game.
The last of the bunch on this second day of action pits the mighty Hammers (heehee) vs Jimi and the Wolves.
Monday arrives with a two game meal and once again they’re conveniently spread out for us. The first is the bad appetizer in Fulham going up against Villa. But it’s ok, you went to the restaurant for the steak not the appetizer. And that steak will taste delicious as Liverpool sends Arsenal fans back to the cave where they belong as chants of ‘Arteta is not your saviour’ can be heard from the Kloppites.
The games in full…

It will be a miracle if Chelski can comeback on that
3-4 thanks to Werner or he’s out tonight….
His out of my team even for Mitrovic :buba:
Lamps needs to take off Tammy.
for Giroud
They need 4 goals from second half. Not one.
No doubt he will drop down like a hot brick tonight.
Can’t decide a replacement, Jimenez or DCL
You were saying…
Chelsea is seriously missing a proper natural winger who can dictate the attacks. Werner is always standing in a crowd. Not at all effective. The team is lacking a style and sense of attack.
They’ve got one in CHO. But unfortunately shiny new toys sometimes mean people overlook what’s already on the table, barely used but just as good.
True initt.
Lamps under estimated WBA…why will you start Tim-Tam up front and not Barkley.
+1 (yes, lazy comment)
This will be the condition when you are heavy at top..
I read that Reece James attempted 9 crosses in the first half. Insane!
he is getting forward a lot. I wudnt say many looked that dangerous. Chelsea look a beaten team. An interesting second half awaits
Out of those 9, only 1-2 were good, the rest are all rubbish (either blocked or intercepted).
I am not English so someone needs to explain to me the concept of this latest ruling in this beautiful English game vis-a-vis the penalty awarded for United after the final whistle was blown? What is the meaning of the FINAL WHISTLE then? Is this the new normal? Can retrospective decisions that affect the outcome and points of a game be taken after the game has been effectively ended by the only man who can do so – the referee? If so, how long after a game does such a ruling period apply for? 1 mjnute, 1 hour, 1 day? If something is amiss in a game and detected by VAR, do the entire teams reassemble once more and re-do everything? I always thought the FINAL WHISTLE meant that no further actions or decisions can be taken no matter what. It may seem unfair, unjust, right or wrong but what happened up to that 90th or 95th minute stands and no actions thereafter affects the beautiful game? I am thoroughly confused and absolutely bewildered. Just in case people think I have an agenda against United, I don’t. I’d write the same thing if it happened to City, Arsenal, Liverpool or Chelsea. It just seems to be such a stain on the beautiful game that decisions after a game affects the outcome and points in a game. Something to think about. Cheers and good luck fellow fantasy leaguers.
This should be an article. Maybe people will read it then.
Maybe :big-lol:
PunkDragon,
The incident happened before the final whistle.
https://www.skysports.com/football/news/11667/12082485/manchester-united-penalty-drama-why-bruno-fernandes-goal-after-final-whistle-stood
The incident occurred before. However the referee ended the game. If he had detected something amiss, he should not have blown the whistle, checked VAR and then awarded the penalty. His blowing of the final whistle can be understood as his understanding that nothing is amiss and that everything should end as is. However, to go back and award a decision that affects the outcome of the game is totally baffling. For me I understand the final whistle like “death” in real life. Nothing that is done afterwards affects the fact that you’re dead or can affect you positively or negatively thereafter. The ultimate ruling if you will. This argument is for better philosophers, technicians and footballing experts perhaps.
That might have been the case before VAR but we living in a different era.
A different era should not change fundamental principals and rules of the game. The FINAL WHISTLE is the final whistle. Otherwise why have it at all?
I need to read about it more, but I truly feel the same.
Did Brighton put a reclamation in? To my knowledge it’s against the rules of the game, but of course I may be wrong.
Brighton should be given the draw (it’s not only because I don’t own Fernandes :))
I’m really shocked by this.
Frenchie, the ref went to check VAR regarding Maupay’s handball. The decision was right.
IFAB Law 2 also states: “If at the end of the half, the referee leaves the field of play to go to the referee review area (RRA) or to instruct the players to return to the field of play, this does not prevent a decision being changed for an incident which occurred before the end of the half.”

Mainz v Freiburg were in the changing rooms at half time and were called back out to have a penalty taken.
I’ve got no issue with it. It was just an unusual coincidence that it happened within the same passage of play as the final whistle. What happened (the incident) was within normal playing time. Seems logical to me that they still review it and act accordingly.
Chelsea are really missing the creativity of Ziyech. Pretty sure Werner would be on 2 goals for sure now with him. He gives perfect assists.
Anyone take a punt on Mount?
Well he could also just hit inside the bar when he gets the chance
I dont think you can say they are missing him when he hasnt played for them yet
People said the same about Kai.
You’ll see.
Chelsea are really missing lampard and drogba
