Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3.

Manchester ‘the new Arsenal’ United try and do better this weekend in the first fixture of the gameweek when they face Brighton, that 4th place won’t win itself you know.

That is followed by Palace taking on Everton. A match up of two low to mid table two teams tied for top of the league on points.

West Brom will be looking to get their first point of the season when they play host to Chelsea. The Baggies forwards will be on high alert in case the Chelsea keeper is looking for his second assist of the season.

In the last game of the day Burnley will take on Southampton and their revolutionary tactics.

Sunday sees four more fixtures all nicely spread out. The early game pits a team headed back to the Championship in Sheffield United versus a team who just came from the Championship in Leeds, should be a fun watch. Leeds will do their best to make it a 4-3 game while The Blades do their best to make it a -4 to -3 game.

Spurs versus Toon is next on the Sunday menu where the on, off, back on Son train will look to reward his fickle owners and the loyalists who were with him from day one.

Man City then takes on first place Leicester in what should be an intriguing game.

The last of the bunch on this second day of action pits the mighty Hammers (heehee) vs Jimi and the Wolves.

Monday arrives with a two game meal and once again they’re conveniently spread out for us. The first is the bad appetizer in Fulham going up against Villa. But it’s ok, you went to the restaurant for the steak not the appetizer. And that steak will taste delicious as Liverpool sends Arsenal fans back to the cave where they belong as chants of ‘Arteta is not your saviour’ can be heard from the Kloppites.

The games in full…

Again, if that is the rule, I don’t understand the rules of football anymore.
    This penalty is ridiculous.
We should have players hitting the ball towards defenders’ arms intentionally very soon.
    I really don’t understand it.

I understand the rules Frenchie but I totally disagree with this one.

This needs stripped back to deliberate handball for me. The referee decides (via VAR if necessary) if it’s deliberate.

It’s IFAB who decide and publish the rules so calling out the referees or VAR is totally misdirected. They’re working correctly.

      • Leprechaun says:

Returning to deliberate handball makes a lot of sense GP. Maybe next season it will happen but unlikely to change at this stage.

      • Frenchie says:

I agree GP but it seems the rules are completely ignoring the deliberate part now, and I don’t like the way the game is heading to.
I also agree it’s wrong to shout at referees if that’s the rule.
About the VAR though, I’m not that indulgent. To me it’s part of the problem of the game going in a way I don’t like, I’m strongly against it, but I guess that just makes an old grumpy man and we won’t come back from here.

        • The laws are ignoring it because the dubiety of it was the reason the laws were rewritten.

Deliberate is no longer a consideration at all to the point that I believe the word isn’t even mentioned in the laws of the game at all now.

They’ve taken a small problem and made it 100 times more complicated and worse for the referees.

I support VAR because I think the wrongs ‘righted’ is more important than disruption to the game and/or micro-refereeing but I understand that that’s another debate and totally respect the other argument against it.

      • Frenchie says:

And by the way I read some of you guys (not you specifically GP) replies to my comment on the Man U penalty, and while I understand where you’re coming from, I still fully disagree with you about it.
If the final whistle is blown, it’s blown. How far can you go back with VAR? How are you able to retroactively change the outcome of the game like that? That still feels completely wrong to me. Just my opinion of course.

    Mahrez goal, no assist.

Sounds like Son’s injured, the -4 I took has failed miserably.

Good job I didn’t do any early moves after all..

    Bad news on Son
“It’s an injury. We’ll have him out for a while. It’s his hamstring.”

    I’m doing extremely poor… on wildcard…lol.

      Frenchie says:

I think all of us wildcarders are in the same boat. My gameweek is awful. If Son is injured that’s another bad news. Let’s just hope the luck turns up at some point.

      • Neilos says:

All in the same boat Raz.
It will be all good soon.

        • Kushan Samararatne says:

I am not on a WC and I thought I was happy with my team… Only to see I’m on 21 miserable points this week and the armband on………..Oh yes, you know where this is going………………..”SON”………..well at least Vardy scored so now on 25 points… Need something big from Salah, TAA, Auba & Mitro to have a decent week at least…
