Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 3. “It’s time to play the music, It’s time to light the lights…”. With game-weeks 1&2 done & dusted it’s time to sit down and hopefully enjoy GW3, our final game-week before the international break. Our game-week kicks off at lunchtime on Saturday as a pointless Bournemouth take on a City side who have yet to sparkle. This is followed by four 3pm kick-offs, all of which appear to be rather uninspiring. Saturday concludes with free scoring United hosting a Leicester City side who look somewhat rejuvenated this season.

At 1:30pm on Sunday Chelsea will look to build upon their win over Spurs as they face Spurs. At the same time West Brom host Stoke in what is likely to be an enthralling game!! 4pm sees Liverpool host Arsenal in a game that has a history of goals. Also at 4pm those that have sold and those have held onto Harry Kane will be biting their nails as he seeks to break his August duck as Burnley visit Wembley.

  1. Any betting men on here with some tips for the fight? Not tips of who will win as that’s obvious but maybe which round or whether it will go all the way? At the moment I’m thinking Mayweather to take it in round 2 but not being a betting man I’m not sure if I can do an ‘each way’ type bet say betting on it being round 1, 2 or 3 without having to put 3 seperated bets on?

    • Hate the word obvious, can’t believe I just said that. I meant foregone conclusion laugh

    • I’ll give you a tip. Just go to bed and ignore all the nonsense & hype!! 😉

      • Can’t imagine you’re your countryman’s greatest fan, Kop.

        • GP, I can’t stand the man and that’s putting it politely. I’m no fan of his Mickey Mouse sport either.
In saying that I’ve never been a fan of Mayweather either.

        • If it was possible for them both to lose, i’d take that as an ideal outcome. Both an absolute pair of see you next tuesdays.

        • You’ve always had a way with words Chins smile

        • He is.

This is just an affront to a noble art.

        • Watching the fight should at least be fun. Probably be about 20+ guys watching it on an outside TV at a neighbors house. 80 degrees at 10pm with a few beers. Lovely stuff. You guys getting up early or not bothering. (Guessing Kop is the latter)

        • I’m not getting up for it chins no. Not even if someone was offering to pay for it for me.

        • Spot on Chins. I’ve 0 interest in it

        • I’d be interested in it in that scenario Chins, should be a good night / spectacle for you all. Without that, no, not bothered at all! Have a good night though, slightly jealous!

      • Yep completely agree both a couple of proper plonkas. But I am a boxing fan and am aware of what will happen to the sport over the next couple of years should McGregor get lucky! Therefore I do want Late father to take him out in the 1st round not only to save the sport from going into decline and being ridiculed but also to put a stop to this sort of nonsense. I am getting up at 5 and as an incentive to drag myself out of bed I put the wager on laugh

        • Mayweather isn’t dead nor is he my father! Promise.

        • I took a ridiculous punt (80/1) in Mayweather putting him down in rounds 7 and 8 and then winning in rounds 9-11

        • Late Father… brilliant! Gotta love predictive!

        • It’s all gone a bit Star Wars there db!

        • I reckon rounds 1-3 and put a tenner on it but had £17 left over in the account from the grand national so did a £7 cover more bases bet for rounds 4-6 so i do hope your wrong but at 80-1 I’ll be rooting for you if it goes past round 8.

        • Might be a prediction there! If McGregor kills Mayweather then I might get a knock on the door from the inheritance guys. I actually do tan very quickly when on holiday!

  2. My starting-XI score: 22 points.

    My benched score: 25 points.

I’ve never had a bench quite so consistently good before. I bought Mbemba for Francis for no good reason!

I’m basically relying on Spurs and WBA to flip this around. Please, somebody, just end me… laugh

    • Now, in seriousness, my team’s faltering. The individual players are still, on the whole, ones I’m happy with. I picked them all very recently! They’re just not cutting it, though, and I think I need to act before I fall too far behind in the transfer market. My midfield is dead! J Rod is also dead.

KDB is going tonight, regardless of what I choose to do, but a WC is very tempting. I had it in mind to activate it over the international break anyway. Alonso, Mane, etc. are all rising tonight.

      What do you guys think?

      • How many transfers James ? I’d say that team doesn’t need a wc at this stage.

        • I have 1 FT and 0.5m in the bank. I actually agree that it doesn’t *need* a WC but I can see it setting me up much better for the long-term haul.

      • Well, if you are certain that you will in deed WC then yeah, do it now and try to take advantage of price raises/drops.
If not, I’d hold any moves James. The gw is yet to finish, there’s an IB up next and when they get back they have CL in the midweek after gw4.

        • DMC, you’re right, holding onto my FT would be wise. That’s what I think is the final push I need to press the WC button! Activating it will give me control over all injuries during the break.

  3. How about a rage WC? Does that count?
Still in the Indian jungle and haven’t a solid tom tit for two weeks now. After a few beers and a bottle of scotch during which time I spent several hours crouching over a hole in the ground I lost my temper and played the wild card in order to give me something else to think about…..

  4. Naughton has as many points as Lukaku – let that sink in

  5. Morning all! My first decent result – 29 points with 6 (including arguably my best 5) to go. Got two clean sheets on my bench, but 2/2 on the pitch anyway. Should be flying if Kane repays my faith in him against Burnley!

    • On 47 points but only 3 players left Foster, Mane and Kane(c)

    • Some good scores there Snookie DMC won’t mention yours Cookie 21 for with 5 to go including Cap Kane just hope Kane scores 1 😉

      • Well in fairness cookie has 8 in 2 but one is Romelu so while an average of 4 pts per player isn’t great the fact is everyone and his dog has Luk so it’s more 7 in 1 in a ten man roster with capo Kane to play. Great score Cookie! Stats are flexible!! smile

      • Great scores (even cookie!). I’m on 4pts (-4pts) but 8 left to play today! I still have hope smile
