You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone…

After days upon days, weeks upon weeks, months upon months of seemingly endless football we were all either exhausted or just simply indocrinated. To the point that the odd day sans a meaningful game seemed… well, just odd. Back to reality perhaps? Don’t bet on it, certainly short term you can’t as we have GW’s already being spread out to suit the TV audience and do not think for a second that this new phenom will stop after this season.

As for this weekend itself it is spread over just 3 days, but as is the norm now the games are handily spread out so that not one overlaps another. Funny that, isn’t it…

In theory you can sit down on Saturday at 12.30pm and watch Chelsea vs West Brom and stay there until Monday night at about 10pm when Wolves and West Ham conclude. You’ll have seen 10 games, about 960 minutes of football all told, done for 3 packs of beer and 20 bags of chips and probably have alienated your entire family. Enjoy! The games inbetween are below:

The games in full…

I was using FFF to double check on FPL price rises. Site does not seem to work anymore, cannot logon.
Anyone else use them and have these issues?

    Any suggestions?

What’s your team Leprechaun? Still a lot of choices until we know whether GW36 is rescheduled

      Otieno,

A few questions. In what way(s) might GW36 be rescheduled-would it create any DGWs? And what of the two(?) remaining unscheduled games (I think Everton-Aston Villa and Crystal Palace-Southampton). Thanks for tracking this stuff so assiduously.

      • Otieno says:

Firstly the easy one. If SOT beat LEI in the cup then SOT v CPL goes to GW34 (poss 33). There’s no other space for it. Assuming they don’t and there are no fixture changes, the rescheduled games (RGs) go to 37.

The fixtures could change in 3 ways to allow spectators. One is GW37 gets pushed back to midweek and the RGs go to 15/16 May (GW37). This is unlikely as television will have a quiet weekend.

Or GW37 is pushed to midweek AND GW36 goes to that weekend. This means that the cup finalists and their opponents blank in what is now GW36 and there are 4RGs in DGW35. It might only be 3RGs if LEI CHE make the final since they play each other in the league

The third and most likely option is that GW36 is moved by a full week to 18/19 May which is the same as option 2 except from a fantasy point of view GW36 & 37 are renumbered.

So in summary most likely is :
DGW35 (7-13 May) – Doubles for MCI BHA LEI CHE AVL EVE SOT CPL
BGW36 (14-17 May) – Original GW37 fixtures minus MCI BHA CHE LEI
        GW37 (18-20 May) – Original GW36 fixtures
        GW38 (23 May) – Unchanged

Note that we don’t know how many games the FA cup final will cause to be rearranged It should be two but it might be only the LEI v CHE match if both reach the final

          Otieno,

Thanks very much. This could be a very interesting finish for the season. Would you save a BB, which I have, for DGW35?

        • Smash says:

The spectators thing I’ll be surprised if that happens especially looking how complicated it would be. Would also be short notice. Just seems like someone Ben Crellin got a bit carried away with potential double game weeks.

        • Otieno says:

Can’t really give advice on that unt after GW32 when we know which teams are in FA final. I doubt if you will want 15 DGW players in GW35 because a number of those then blank in GW36. Maybe build toward 35 with FT and BB then WC36 to dump the players with blanks and pile up on e.g. WHM who have. Excellent last three fixtures while some teams will be enjoying the sun and sand.

        • KI says:

Great discussion. Thanks guys. I’d like to come back after GW32 with 3 FTs (1 saved) and perhaps a hit to start maneuvering.
