Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 31

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 31. Blink and you’ll miss it, is probably the best way to describe GW31. Or blank GW31 as it is more commonly known. Just four fixtures survive the week due to the FA Cup quarter finals which are also taking place this week.

Three of our games take place at 3pm on Saturday as Bournemouth are the next to have shooting practice vs West Brom, Huddersfield welcome Crystal Palace and Everton get a chance to improve their away record as they go to Stoke.

Of more interest to most will be the evening kick off and the end of our game-week as Liverpool host Watford at Anfield. And that’s it!

  1. Ideal WC team focusing on the 2 DGWs?

    • Well if Chelsea and Soton get through today, then the only teams likely to play in both are Chelsea, United, Spurs and Leicester. A defender from the first three perhaps. Son if Kane is still out. Kane if he’s not. Another Spurs mid. Maybe Lukaku. Willian if he’s nailed on gametime. Bring a BOU mid in for 37.

In short, I wish City and Liverpool had 2 doubles 😆

  2. Is there a post or comment anywhere that details the probable DGW teams / fixtures? I’m tempted to hit the WC button today (to avoid price changes), but I’ve been a little distant recently and have no idea what the deal is with the upcoming DGWs. Thanks.

      • Awesome. Thanks Init.

Do I remember reading ages ago that GW35 could be a BGW?

Sorry for asking questions that have probably been answered a hundred times already. I’m just trying to figure out the best use of my WC, BB and FH chips.

        • It will be. Current state of play on that –

        • Thanks again Init.

So it seems the big decision is whether to FH on BGW35 or DGW37.

That’s assuming the WC gets used for DGW34.

      • thanks init, very much appreciated. i think i hit the WC button today also

  3. I hope people had a better outcome then me yesterday, forgot to save changes on making salah my captain meaning my captain and vice didnt play and fell 100pts behind my ml leader

    • Ouch that’s rough! I always set my team the instant the new GW starts… just Incase I get hit by a bus!!
Think your team is linking to someone else’s by the way!

      • Yeah it is, it’s flicking between mine and someone else’s every other click. I’ll look into sorting it thanks for spotting it.

  4. WC button pressed.Feels good to clear dross like Choupo Moting and Pickford out of my team !! Thoughts on this initial draft ? Not sure on Willian and defence probably needs a tweak ? Silva will become Stanislas and Aubameyang will become Kane for Gw 37.

    • like the first sight Brooky, lot to go until the next deadline so i expect some more changes, but seems decent now

    • Looks a a great first stab. Is Smalling nailed on now? From what I’ve seen Willian has been on fire, so can’t see him losing his spot.

Where are you at with your chips? And what’s your plans for using them?

    • Looks good Brooky I like it

    • Cheers lads.
Banjo, Smalling has started the last 8 games on the trot so seems nailed for now.Willian just seems to blow so hot and cold and Chelsea arent really on great form so hence a little unsure on him.Ive got all my chips left so plan on BB gw34 FH in gw35 and TC in gw37 all being well.

  5. Ok.
I see everyone is around (though it’s Sun and everyone should be with their families :p ),
so I guess it’s a good momment to ask for some help!
I saw a lot of scenarios on “how to use your chips” but none of them was meant for people who have already used their 2nd WC.
I know this category is being labeled as “douchebags” , but nevertheless 😉 …

    Ok…
    Team is below…
    BB,FH,TC left…

RMT + suggestions on how to plan (next transfers) +best timing for using the chips (BB; FH; TC) …

You can offer a “personalized/custom-made” advice that would suit my team, or a general one for people w/out a WC.

    TIA

    • You told us all to go away and be with our families! smile

And besides you now have a terrible reputation as someone who digs out old advice and throws it in people’s faces laugh 😉

      Seriously though…

This is a tough one mate! Making the best use of the BB here is key, which means having 15 at some point come a DGW. Or 14 + Salah anyway! Without checking off exact numbers vs amount of transfers needed I’d assume that getting to that number for 34 is out of reach without a lot of hits?

If so then I think I’d go about it like this –

Concentrate all transfers (within reason) on hitting the number for 37 and BB’ing on that one. I’d use the TC in 34 and FH in 35 so that you can effectively forget about having to plan specifically for that particular blank week.

Just my initial thoughts. And for future reference you should know the drill around here by now, if it all goes tits up – blame Mitro :hippo:

  6. So why are people thinking of holding the WC until GW33?
Apart from Chelsea vs Spurs the fixtures look good in GW32.
    My team looks shocking now.
I have 4 chips with 7 GWs to go.
    Probably going to WC tonight.

    • +1

    • Hey Horse. I’m leaning towards that mindset too. Seems we can prepare for DGW34, whilst improving our teams for GW33, and avoid some price changes as well!

What’s your plans for the FH? I can’t see what’s best between using it in BGW35 or DGW37.

      • I am looking to play FH in GW35 and TC in GW37.
Things will become clearer by the end of the day.
Pompey vs Scum next season moved a step closer yesterday. If only we could get some consistancy.
We still got to play Plymouth Charlton and Peterborough.

        • I’ll be amazed if we sneak up again this year. But then I was saying the same in March last year! Scummers really looking like they could drop though. I’m well happy with the Hughes appointment! Fingers crossed Cookie can do us a favour today.

    • I think I’m going to press the button later. Don’t see major advantage in holding it. I need the better team now

    • Yeah I’m thinking the same, if I roll my transfer in 33 I’ll have 2 to address any injuries in 34. Just need to work out who I want for both doubles. I’ll be doing some ref charts for the doubles fixtures as I did last season ( if you can remember that far back!) so look out for them in my fixtures article next week!
