I wouldn’t be tempted to do it, myself. Anything could happen against Man U and then they’re away at Arsenal in the next match (who I don’t think will be such a push over).

I know, but look at City’s fixtures the remaining season:
Soton (H)
Sunderland (H)
West Brom (H)
Palace (A)
Aston Villa (H)
West Ham (H)
Six potential clean sheets, thus I want a nailed on City defender. If he rises by 0.1 I won’t be able to afford him, so it’s now or never (assuming he doesn’t get red carded or injured against United of course).

Ah, fair enough – especially with their DGW games coming up too, actually. I’ll probably hold off on doing it until after Arsenal, however if it’s the case that you need to do it before price rises (and so whilst you can still afford to do it), then go for it.
