Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 33
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 33. From 15 games we go straight to the other end of the spectrum with just 6. And boy is this one dragged out! We begin on Friday evening with Liverpool going to Southampton, for a game for once, not just a scouting mission. Saturday then sees just three games and all are at 3pm. Bournemouth entertain Burnley, newly relegated Huddersfield host newly invigorated Leicester and Palace take a trip up north to Newcastle
Just the one game on Sunday as Everton welcome Arsenal before Chelsea ‘welcome’ West Ham on Monday to see us out for the final BGW of the season.
The games in full…

The League Codes for FF247 for the 2018/19 season are as follows –
Initial WC thoughts….
Ignore United – honeymoon seems over for Ole, fixtures not great, Pogba deep, back to being moody/distracted by Madrid talk.
Brighton – ultimate trap. Ryan & Duffy appeal but little else. Fixtures good for DGW33 but poor for DGW34.
Cardiff – avoid.
Spurs – Fixtures good, starting with Huddersfield next week. Kane a definite for me and would like Son or Erik too if poss.
Saints – some cheap defensive / keeper options make for ideal BB fillers. Hojberg or JWP could work in midfield. Be aware of investing too much into them though – their Fixtures are not wow until meeting Huddersfield in GW38.
Arsenal – careful of getting sucked in. 5 of their last 7 are away and I expect them to concede in at least four of those. Home fixtures vs Palace & Brighton appeal but is this enough to justify outlay on Laca or Auba? I’m not convinced. Midfield remains a minefield. At this stage i’ll happily go without.
Wolves – fixtures are good up until GW38. Jimenez comes straight back in and am considering a Jota double up.
Watford – fixture are mixed but their DGW35 sees a trip to Huddersfield and a home tie vs Southampton so BB coverage could work for the DGW.
Deeney, Doucoure, Foster on my watchlist but doubt i’ll have all 3.
City – very tempted to just go with Sterling. Fixtures are mixed and the threat of rotation remains in the ‘easier’ fixtures.
Liverpool – ignore at your peril. Going without Salah and Mane in GW35 & 36 could hurt vs the casuals who have no WC left!
Just my initial thoughts.
Leave any questions below – I will attempt to answer post curry!
Jesus?
Jesus was great, outscored both Higuain & Bats.
But his race is run 😉
All great points. I agree on most points. Enjoy the curry.

Thanks for taking the trouble, good thoughts and hard to disagree with most of that. Terrific post.
Leicester fall into the same category as Liverpool I would say.
Your thoughts about Man City make sense. Up to about one hour ago I was set on Kun up front but started thinking about SGW players, Liverpool and Leicester in particular, and how hard it will be to be ready for 36 with both Kun and Sterling in the side.
Good point about Pog. He’s been great to me and the decision I made to take him not Martial, all those weeks ago, was absolutely critical. But now may be the time to wave goodbye, especially if I can get a nailed Spurs player instead for 34.
Kralin,
I’ll have no problem in ditching Vardy. He has been great but his two hauls have come vs Fulham & Huddersfield.
My gut says celebrate tonight if you own him or even better if you capo’d him. But my view is that you’ve seen the best of his returns.
Yes, probably, who knows.
One of the perils, as you well know, of the wildcard in anticipation of the bench-boost, is the inconvenient week that comes before the bench-boost. A side set up for the week after can often struggle the week before. That’s why I’m mildly reluctant to rid myself of the likes of Pog and Vardy, with their appealing home fixtures in 34. Pog is the easier one to shift as a Spurs’ midfielder can step in.
My Vardy theory will be put to the test next week – Newcastle won’t be a push over, certainly not like Fulham or Huddersfield were.
You’re 100% right on the GW pre BB – Its a challenge though and hopefully the rewards are there for the ‘planners’ that we are! Sort of
Agree with a lot of this. An exceptions. If going with limited City, surely its Aguero or do you feel that way because of his injury?
Yeah I like both Aguero and Sterling
Dreamers, I’m set on Kane & Jimenez which leaves just one place up front.
I haven’t ruled out Kun, far from it, I’m not that far down the road re drafts, but I may struggle budget wise to have both Kun & Kun.
Sterling and Salah could well occupy one place in a hokey-cokey with Salah in for 35 & 36 and Sterling 34, 37 & 38. Possibly.
Much yet to consider.
Cookie, have you just went from no Kun to double Kun?
Cheers Cookie. Thanks for your analysis.
It’s a shame United aren’t firing WHU DGW35 (CHE) hud Car looks good fixtures.
Tottenham’s game against HUD comes between their two matches against MCI in the Champions League so they may be rotation. Four out of 6 home matches.
How about Kola for Arsenal?
Ederson is nailed. He looks like an option alongside a cheapie such as Ryan.
Wolves and Watford can make it into the Europa league for 7th spot I believe so whoever drops out of the cup looks like worth investing in. I like Doherty as an option too
Wildcard activated. Here’s a first draft if you’ve got chance to have a look. No doubt it will change
Hey Horse,
Appreciate your thoughts.
I like your squad mate. Those 2 Pool fixtures in 35 & 36 do scream Mané & Salah so that’s an issue.
The rest looks good. I maintain what I say above re Vardy, we may have seen him peak.
Kolasinac? 5 out of 7 away suggests he needs to assist or score to justify inclusion.
If you can get Duffy ovet Dunk – he’s worth the extra 0.3mln.
Re United – they do end well fixture wise and maybe by then Pogba, Rashford, Lukaku, Martial or whoever may have come out demanding a spot or indeed Shaw at the back. I’m happy to go without until now.
Cheers Cookie. I hear what you’re saying about GW35 and 36 for Liverpool. I may well triple up with Robo in for Kola and Deeney in for Vardy as well as Duffy in for Dunk. I will have a better idea of the Wolves/Watford mix after tomorrow’s semi final. Triple caption in GW36 without Salah seems a bit hairy though
Horse, Deeney was the name I had in mind with a view to
changing to Rashford for the final 2/3 fixtures.
Wouldn’t normally share personal photos on here but I wanted to because I’m bursting with pride at our little team having finally played its first ever official league fixture today after months of training / friendlies. I was uber nice to them too; little do they know that they have years of hell in front of them! It’ll be character building
Happy for you innit
Well done Init, keep it up!
Love this. Well done, the start of a great journey
Nice one Initt
Poor little blighters!!!
Brilliant Init, hats off to you and well done to them.
Brilliant ! How did they get on ??
We actually got beat 2-4 but it was against a side who’ve played league games since August and it could conceivably have been a draw but for a few mistakes. Which will be ironed out on Monday….
Seeing massive strides though and it’s so satisfying. Big day today as the parents and kids will all remember that forever as their first ever proper game.
They’ll all hate me in about 5 years when they get to know me properly but so very proud to have lead them to today.
Superb.
And an iconic kit as well!
Best of luck to the young team.
Nice one! Tactical tip:
1) “Who’s best?” – “Me, me, me!” – ”OK, you’re midfield.” – “But why aren’t we strikers?” – “Cos you’re so good you’ll score loads from midfield.”
2) “Right, next best?” – “Me, me, me!” – “You’re our defence, then.” – “But why?” – “Cos we need decent players in defence.”
3) “Right, you’re playing up front!” – “Why? What??” – “Just try to distract the goalie so our midfielders can score.”
Jesus can’t think of a scarier gaffa! Potential world beaters from fear alone!! 😉
Great ! Nice to see a bunch of budding footballers…wish you (Init) and that little team a very bright future.
First WC Draft…. Camarasa to Knockhaert for GW34 (not ideal but low on funds).
Really questioning Sterling given fixtures, CL and his price. Is dropping him a real option?
Anything’s an option – entirely up to you. Can’t you just move him on and bring Kun in for Lacazette? A bit of City may not go amiss.
Exactly same team as mine macro but i have Aguero
Given my constant moaning these past weeks, you’ll be pleased to know I’ve managed to pull out a monster GW by the looks of it this week. Currently on 72 (-4) with 3 to play. Massive 400K green arrow, its been a long time coming. Westwood and Vardy (c) the heroes. In fact, I think my team is very similar to the site team bar Westwood.
Well played. About time you got some luck
Hey guys,
hows this wc draft looking. 0.7itb still
think i’m bb next week
I have Lacazette instead of Aguero, but my MF has Sterling,Mane.Son, ward-Prowse and Dendoneker
Nice looking team there photek, not much I can comment on really! But I’ll try to give you some food for thought:
Gunn and Ryan are a decent pairing and I’ve seen them in a lot of draft WC34BB35 teams. Have a think about Foster.
At that price, you can’t argue with Bennett and Valery. And Laporte makes sense. Have a think about Duffy (instead of Dunk, not in addition to – I think triple BHA is excessive. Of course if you went for Foster over Ryan then you could probs do Dunk and Duffy) on the basis that he has more goals, assists and bonus points (5,2,9) than Dunk (2,1,6) despite playing slightly less minutes. Nothing wrong with TAA but this means you can’t have Mané and Firmino in GW36. Is Mendy worth a punt? Probably too early.
You’re keeping Salah, fair enough. There’s a lot of sensible chat about keeping one Liverpool player in a WC. You have two. Hojbjerg and Deulofeu are decent enablers but I’d prefer JWP and Doucoure (I feel particularly strong about Doucoure being a potent silly great differential over the next couple of weeks). I fear for Deulofeu’s minutes as he’s underperformed recently and now has competition in the form of Andre Gray. You’ve got the cash to upgrade Son to Eriksen (if you consider that an upgrade). You don’t have Sterling. I like Jota.
Forwards look great. This is a week where I’d like 4 forwards, so I could add Lacazette to those three. Keep an eye on Aguero. He wasn’t in the FA Cup squad.
Thanks GentleBen, some very valid points and good food for thought. I appreciate the time and effort
Very good points.
Excellent analysis.
Agree especially re Doucoure.
I can’t emphasise enough – if people have Dunk, pls try and find 0.3 to get Duffy instead. With these two, you really do get what you pay for.
Yes agreed re Duffy. That was one minor tweak I made last night, amongst all the endless tweaking and wishing my TV was 130 mil. The Brighton defenders are a bit more than enablers, given the GW34 fixtures.
Defensive enablers can be found via Southampton, perhaps.
14(-8) for me. No Vardy has hurt me a lot. Should be the worst game yet. Auba, Ozil and Hazard(c) still to play with Alonso lurking in the shadows. Don’t expect much though. A 30+ week shall be fine I guess.
