We have no less than 14 games to contend with this week which means that 8 teams have a double. If this is news to you at this stage then you’re waaaaaaay behind the curve. Man City go first again as they host Spurs in what is one of their two perceived ‘tough’ games and it’s fair to say it could be a title decider, in theory. We then have 4 games at 3pm; Jekyll and Hyde Bournemouth host a similarly unpredictable Fulham, Huddersfield bend over for Watford, West Ham and Leicester argue over which one could now care less and Wolves will be fearful of the Irish Ronaldo aka Duffy as Brighton visit the Midlands. Newcastle celebrate being ‘safe’ in the late game against Southampton who are hoping to have a similar party of their own anytime soon.

There are 3 games on Sunday but oddly 2 of them clash at 4pm. Everton and Man United is the early outlier before Arsenal enjoy home comforts against Palace and then finally Liverpool get their chance to respond to whatever City did by hammering Cardiff.

Monday completes the set of 10 ‘normal’ games with Chelsea hosting Burnley and many a fantasy manager will be hiding behind the settee having sold Hazard for someone far less expensive just because they have two games in a week.

Speaking of which… the ‘doubles’ begin on Tuesday with Spurs v Brighton and Watford v Southampton followed on Wednesday by Wolves hosting Arsenal, before Man City’s second ‘title decider’ in one week (unless they already stuffed the first one up!) as they visit Man United.

The games in full…

    Pissing Watford!

Averages are in. 37 (top 10k) and 18 for the rest.

More woe and despair (well avoidable mediocrity at least!) – after announcing that I was going to get in Deulofeu and Gray (in place of Jimi & Camarasa) also necessitating a downgrade of one o’ my defenders which would have involved a – 8, I stayed with Jimi (and Hojlberg – is that how you spell his name?) as someone advised me that this move was unreasonable! Oh well – we all know what happens when the population is surveyed about its opinions!
In any case, I also have reason to believe that things may look in an upward direction, because that’s the type of guy I am! smile Tis not over till the fat lady sings – or at least until Aguero scores a hat-trick against his fellow Mancunians! smile Bye to one and all – happy Easter, Orthodox Easter, Pessah, and the upcoming Ramadan – as I believe in ‘inclusivity’! Cheerio! AJW.

Plenty of action / despair / wailing and woe / joy / missed penalties / lost illusions to come this GW yet.

      Smash says:

Well Del was a doubt and yep Gray is still shit

      • Kralin says:

It wasn’t a day to remember – perhaps mercifully, given the trap a lot of them could have been – for the budget strikers. I wish I could trick the game into giving me Llorente for Tuesday, however.

        • Smash says:

Yeah I’ve not had a great day. But then I’ve not had much luck for a while. Still not sold on Llorente but hopefully he does well Tuesday

        • inittowinit says:

He’ll start, get an assist (a chest or nod down), wink at you and then bugger off. It’s what he does best. Could still be an interesting option for the rest of the season though, all that said, given their CL aspirations. Son up top will be their preference for the semis you’d have to imagine. And they’ll certainly fancy their chances of making the final.

        • Kralin says:

          The GW’s barely begun (fortunately).

It’s been an odd day for me – Lloris/Valery both (perhaps fortunately) going AWOL. I feel I’m hanging on in there rather than soaring away. But the general average is low this week so far.

I’m hoping Wolves show up v Arsenal.

So my -4 of dunk to janmaat turned out very well

      Kralin says:

The GW’s not over yet. Those chortling over owning Dunk tonight may be roundly (even traditionally) cursing him in a few days. And as Dunk himself proved, a week is a long time in fantasy football.

      • AJW says:

Have the TC on Aguero – the year of living dangerously! 😉

        • AJW says:

And let’s face it – a banal 35 points at this stage of the game is not a sign that one should ‘fall on ones sword’!Blessings to all (I suppose!)

        • Kralin says:

I have a soft spot for Peter Weir films. There have been some good ones along the way.

That TC may well work out. Seems like events got a bit too much today but City have a few days now to get Spurs out of their system.

        • AJW says:

Was just so disappointed about how ineffectual the whole Wolves’ team seemed to be. As if they were in 1st place, on 78 points with a week to go till the end of the season. They must have had too much ‘churros’ and sangria on the Costa del (Ass) Sol last week!

        • AJW says:

A veritable ‘Gallipoli’ for Squirrel City though! Glad to hear you’e a cinephile!

        • Kralin says:

You’ll be witness to some heroic things, Wolves’ wise, by the end of the week.

        • Kralin says:

35 is well above the average (I think) so you should be fine.

      • Brookyboy says:

He’s due an own goal isn’t he ? smile

        • Kralin says:

Given that Spurs may well be out of the CL places by the time Brighton – no doubt cocky with their wonder point today – saunter in, I can see an almighty thrashing being handed out.

Maybe having Bong back made all the difference today.

And if Dunk or Duffy somehow score – at the right end – it will be a narrative that we never stop talking about. Actually if they score at either end.

        • Brookyboy says:

I think they have probably spent the last couple of days practicing defending after the last 2 games ! Probably helped that Wolves are on the beach it seems.I can see a massive Brighton bus being parked at Spurs new stadium next week. One more point and Cardif have to win 2 of their remaining games or get a win and 2 draws.

        • Kralin says:

I think Brighton may fluke a point against Newcastle, who are safe now I think. Cardiff have too much to do with almost impossible fixtures. Not that Brighton’s are that good.

Spurs will have to beat Brighton (unless Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea bodge things tomorrow / Monday, which isn’t impossible I suppose).
