Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 35
We have no less than 14 games to contend with this week which means that 8 teams have a double. If this is news to you at this stage then you’re waaaaaaay behind the curve. Man City go first again as they host Spurs in what is one of their two perceived ‘tough’ games and it’s fair to say it could be a title decider, in theory. We then have 4 games at 3pm; Jekyll and Hyde Bournemouth host a similarly unpredictable Fulham, Huddersfield bend over for Watford, West Ham and Leicester argue over which one could now care less and Wolves will be fearful of the Irish Ronaldo aka Duffy as Brighton visit the Midlands. Newcastle celebrate being ‘safe’ in the late game against Southampton who are hoping to have a similar party of their own anytime soon.
There are 3 games on Sunday but oddly 2 of them clash at 4pm. Everton and Man United is the early outlier before Arsenal enjoy home comforts against Palace and then finally Liverpool get their chance to respond to whatever City did by hammering Cardiff.
Monday completes the set of 10 ‘normal’ games with Chelsea hosting Burnley and many a fantasy manager will be hiding behind the settee having sold Hazard for someone far less expensive just because they have two games in a week.
Speaking of which… the ‘doubles’ begin on Tuesday with Spurs v Brighton and Watford v Southampton followed on Wednesday by Wolves hosting Arsenal, before Man City’s second ‘title decider’ in one week (unless they already stuffed the first one up!) as they visit Man United.
The games in full…

Welcome to our Fantasy Football leagues section.
The League Codes for FF247 for the 2018/19 season are as follows –
Evening
49 declared at the end of day one.
Pissing Watford!
54 after bonus. 16 players left, could be pretty ok even if there are a few disapointments so far…
That sounds good to me Allan.
Well played.
You should go to the docs with that.
Nothing worse than a Hornet down there Init.
::’-(:
Or :’-(:
Emoji issue.
So….. 😯
48 after bonus. Happy with that! Several…loads…a dozen or something… players left to play.
Averages are in. 37 (top 10k) and 18 for the rest.
Sounds about right.
My wildcard definitely backfired. But hey could of been worse.
The GW has barely started. Loads of twists and turns to come. And points.
It could have been.
Beautiful.
Thanks very much.
For Inittowinit (and Vardy owners in general)
Are you thinking about keeping Vardy for the rest of the season? On paper the fixtures are terrible but arguably only the City game is the real challenge. Tricky one, because he’s one of those players who never really seems to let me down.
I doubt non-owners will be thinking of getting him in.
(Unfortunately) he’s Salah collateral for me. That aside I’d have kept him, he’s terribly consistent.
Yes…he was going to make way for Deeney for me this week, before Deeney went off.
If Kun were to get injured then can reconsider.
That was my exact plan too. Obviously isn’t now. Kun (be)coming a cropper would help massively.
It depends on if I can get Salah without ditching him. Going to cross that bridge after the end of this GW (if Sterling gets injured then it’s a straight swap as I have £££ in the bank).
I can get Salah if Vardy becomes someone cheap. I was musing on Vardy – Llorente and Eriksen – Salah, which has symmetry if nothing else. But I’d be fretting about Llorente’s playing time. And Spurs’ league form has been utterly terrible.
Whereas I could do Kun – Firmino and still get Salah. And keep Vardy.
I have him and he was earmarked to go for Firmino this week. I’ve got to think he won’t match Bobby in the Huddersfield game. I still think I’d prefer Firmino over the three.
Shame. Vardy is awesome.
He is, isn’t he. Seldom lets you down. It’s a can I’ll kick down the road until Thursday.
Yeah I could still go Mane instead of Firmino and with that Vardy stays.
Thursday’s problem!
More woe and despair (well avoidable mediocrity at least!) – after announcing that I was going to get in Deulofeu and Gray (in place of Jimi & Camarasa) also necessitating a downgrade of one o’ my defenders which would have involved a – 8, I stayed with Jimi (and Hojlberg – is that how you spell his name?) as someone advised me that this move was unreasonable! Oh well – we all know what happens when the population is surveyed about its opinions!
In any case, I also have reason to believe that things may look in an upward direction, because that’s the type of guy I am! Tis not over till the fat lady sings – or at least until Aguero scores a hat-trick against his fellow Mancunians! Bye to one and all – happy Easter, Orthodox Easter, Pessah, and the upcoming Ramadan – as I believe in ‘inclusivity’! Cheerio! AJW.
Plenty of action / despair / wailing and woe / joy / missed penalties / lost illusions to come this GW yet.
Well Del was a doubt and yep Gray is still shit
It wasn’t a day to remember – perhaps mercifully, given the trap a lot of them could have been – for the budget strikers. I wish I could trick the game into giving me Llorente for Tuesday, however.
Yeah I’ve not had a great day. But then I’ve not had much luck for a while. Still not sold on Llorente but hopefully he does well Tuesday
He’ll start, get an assist (a chest or nod down), wink at you and then bugger off. It’s what he does best. Could still be an interesting option for the rest of the season though, all that said, given their CL aspirations. Son up top will be their preference for the semis you’d have to imagine. And they’ll certainly fancy their chances of making the final.
The GW’s barely begun (fortunately).
It’s been an odd day for me – Lloris/Valery both (perhaps fortunately) going AWOL. I feel I’m hanging on in there rather than soaring away. But the general average is low this week so far.
I’m hoping Wolves show up v Arsenal.
So my -4 of dunk to janmaat turned out very well
The GW’s not over yet. Those chortling over owning Dunk tonight may be roundly (even traditionally) cursing him in a few days. And as Dunk himself proved, a week is a long time in fantasy football.
Have the TC on Aguero – the year of living dangerously! 😉
And let’s face it – a banal 35 points at this stage of the game is not a sign that one should ‘fall on ones sword’!Blessings to all (I suppose!)
I have a soft spot for Peter Weir films. There have been some good ones along the way.
That TC may well work out. Seems like events got a bit too much today but City have a few days now to get Spurs out of their system.
Was just so disappointed about how ineffectual the whole Wolves’ team seemed to be. As if they were in 1st place, on 78 points with a week to go till the end of the season. They must have had too much ‘churros’ and sangria on the Costa del (Ass) Sol last week!
A veritable ‘Gallipoli’ for Squirrel City though! Glad to hear you’e a cinephile!
You’ll be witness to some heroic things, Wolves’ wise, by the end of the week.
35 is well above the average (I think) so you should be fine.
He’s due an own goal isn’t he ?
Given that Spurs may well be out of the CL places by the time Brighton – no doubt cocky with their wonder point today – saunter in, I can see an almighty thrashing being handed out.
Maybe having Bong back made all the difference today.
And if Dunk or Duffy somehow score – at the right end – it will be a narrative that we never stop talking about. Actually if they score at either end.
I think they have probably spent the last couple of days practicing defending after the last 2 games ! Probably helped that Wolves are on the beach it seems.I can see a massive Brighton bus being parked at Spurs new stadium next week. One more point and Cardif have to win 2 of their remaining games or get a win and 2 draws.
I think Brighton may fluke a point against Newcastle, who are safe now I think. Cardiff have too much to do with almost impossible fixtures. Not that Brighton’s are that good.
Spurs will have to beat Brighton (unless Arsenal, Man U and Chelsea bodge things tomorrow / Monday, which isn’t impossible I suppose).
Everybody here seems to brag about how well their gameweek has started, despite some unexpected events.
Just to make it clear: I hate you all
Hopefully not. Hopefully not. Rise above it, Frenchie. We all love you like a brother.
I’d not call the start of my GW a stunning success. Players going AWOL, both literally and on the pitch. The GW has barely begun. Whatever my OR stands at tonight is irrelevant.
Fair enough Kralin, well that’s why I put a smiley at the end: I don’t know what will happen, I mean for all I know Rashford will score a hat trick and I will brag tomorrow.
It’s a just a shame when you plan so carefully, listen to all the news, play your bench boost and then some players decide to not show up for no reason. The French guys actually, Lloris and Valery. Ffs
I own Lloris and Valery too and was startled and annoyed to see them miss out earlier. But there’s only a certain amount of power a crystal ball offers. You just have to take it on the chin and move on. Both players will hopefully make triumphant returns this GW.
For context the average so far is 18.
Hit the booze. Take the pain away.
Trente-neuf is not too bad Frenchie! Don’t be too déçu! You’ll be doing well by Wednesday. I’m sure.
Ehehe we love you too Frenchie!
I’m with you Frenchie.
Feel well and truly Duffed up.
One word in the diary did all this…. 😉
22(-12). It hurts. So bad.
Use it as a lesson for next season Constantine – don’t blow that WC so early next time.
Yeah Cookie. I agree, it’d be better to save the WC till the late end. Been very unfortunate with some of picks with hits though. This season has not been sparing for me anyways.
It’s certainly been a strange few weeks Constantine – even the last 7/8 days has been surreal with some of the scores and surprises.
Its tough to see a season float away after months of care, planning etc but it is to be enjoyed as the game it is.
True. Still have some eccentric picks coming tomorrow. Who knows what shall the future bring!! DeGea, Ozil and Auba still to go. Something miraculous might be on the charts.
18 players still to go though.
Constantine – as much as I want Arsenal to lose tomorrow, I would dearly love Ozil to score heavily for you as a reward for the patience you have showed in him.
I hope he gets sent off to teach him a lesson :hippo: :big-lol:
Best thing is though Constant; you’re still on here and fronting that disappointment up. And that’s because you know you won’t be mocked for it amongst friends. We’ve all been there and had bad weeks.
Cool, you’re not going to mock me
I never have, did, would or will.
What this week’s Site Team’s anonymous author does though, who knows
Oh lordy!!
He has some resignations on the table to deal with
I did laugh that those people even considered it as being an option that was open to them.
It’s been 4 years here Initt. All of you have indirectly become a part of my(our) daily lives. Obviously it’s only a game as Cookie mentioned, but the togetherness that this game and you guys have brought in, is something to be cherished and enjoyed. Cheers mate.
Thanks mate, and that in a nutshell is also why we all do what we do to ensure it remains that way.
