The long game

You may have noticed that there are a lot of games this week. If you haven’t and this is the first you know of it then you may be in a bit of trouble here. There are 15 in total, spanning 7 days in total, with at least a game on each day. 8 teams play twice and 1 other (Man Utd, aka Bruno) play thrice.

We shan’t bore you with our usual pithy comments about each one, as 15 of those would probably be pushing the envelope a bit. Other than to say that come the end of it Champions will most likely have been crowned, some CL places will have been sorted and at least 1 more team will probably have been relegated.

And of course, as is fitting with this season; GW35 ends on Thursday at about 10.30pm and GW36 begins about 20 hours later on the Friday. The line-ups will be interesting then, if nothing else!

The games in full…

  1. That was a good first round of the GW. Hope everyone did well as the average suggests.
81 points for me with 14 left to go. 50 places off top 1k. Hoping to end the season in triple digits

  2. Thought I could manage with I transfer next week. this is what I know have. I had both red card players!!
    Anybody hjelp?
    1 FT 0.00 ITB
Could take a hit or 2

    • Unfortunate on the red cards. I would go -8 Mount/Vardy/Watkins to Lingard/Antonio/Bamford
Their nice games in 37&38 should repay the hits

      • * Keep Watkins. It’s only a 1 match ban so he’ll serve that v EVE and be available to play CPL in GW36

  3. Only managed 60 so far. Should have saved my BB as I have 29 on the bench!!

  4. Castagne + Greenwood + Nacho -> Dallas + Son + Antonio/Bamford? (-8) Yay or Nay?

    Martinez
    Castagne Shaw Phillips
    Bruno Jota Salah Greenwood
    Watkins Nacho Kane

    Sanchez Rudiger Lingard Coady

  5. Bruno to Son + Fofana to Dallas -4ph …leaves me with only 8 starters

Or Bruno to Son + Fofana to Dallas + Nacho to Antonio or Bamford? (who do you favor) -8. (17pts behind mini league leader, don’t want to mess things up)

Thanks guys. Your help has propelled me to my best OR – 22K!

    • Doubt Foster starts so did not count him in.

    • Usually reluctant to do a -8 but I think they’re good transfers so would do it. Not much between 2 strikers but I’d probably do Bamford just about. As you already have Lingard, I’d get some Leeds coverage.

    • Bees, I wouldn’t lose Bruno.
Man U have a couple of promising fixtures to finish the season and they will want the second place to be secured. Son will be essential but you need to find a different route. That brings the question, how much do you trust Salah despite the so called easy fixtures.

      • It is a right dilemma Ivan. Bruno has not exactly been racking up the goals either… So hard to decide.

      • Regarding Bruno and the Man Utd assets, with the Wolves game being on the 23rd and the Europa final on 26th you’re probably only going to get one game out of your assets. Man Utd realistically only need one more win to seal 2nd place. So there’s options with 3 games vs Bruno who is probably going to get 1 or 1.5 games maximum you’d think.

  6. Relegation battle is over. Will there be any motivation for teams from 9-17th spots?

    • When you see Leeds beat Spurs 3-1… Looks like there is, at least for some teams.

      • Leeds is an exception……they do not have an alternate mode of game. They will run as long as they are on the pitch. smile
