Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 37

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 37. Both the title itself and the final relegation spot could be decided this week, depending on the results. Conversely we could very well be saying the exact same thing next week. The difference being that if not this week then next week they definitely will be.

We begin with the televised game that we’ve all been waiting for all season. Cancel your plans and settle down as Burnley, who have nothing to play for go to Everton, who have nothing to play for. This is not quite what Friday night games were invented for!

To be fair to the TV companies every other live game this weekend does actually have something riding on it beginning with Spurs trying to guarantee themselves a CL spot as they visit Bournemouth in the early Saturday game. There are then just two 3pm games as West Ham host Southampton in a dead rubber and Wolves go for 7th against a resurgent Fulham.

Cardiff then stare relegation in the face at 5.30pm as Palace pay them a visit before the first part of the title saga gets underway at 7.45pm as Liverpool go to Newcastle.

Sunday sees us with three games as both Chelsea vs Watford and Huddersfield vs Man United begin at 2pm in a battle to see who wants CL qualification the least. Arsenal will chip in with their own bid later at 4.30pm as they host Brighton.

Man City will then see us out on Monday by either bidding to stay in the title race or indeed winning it, depending on Liverpool’s result on Saturday. Leicester will be the team looking to scupper either ambition.

The games in full…

This was gonna be my team for the final gameweek. The plan was to just take out one of the wolves and bring in whoever….

Now son is suspended, Gunn is benched, salah is more than a doubt and wolves are playing Liverpool, but after last nights performance from Liverpool Jimenez and jota might could be played?
What the hell to do here?

      Rosco says:

It was pretty well publicized that Forster would get a game, every chance Gunn gets his spot back. Just move Son on and you’re GTG!

Very similar situation to me. I’m hoping Salah will be fit and maybe bring in B. Silva for Son and shift a Wolves.

If Salah is out though. Maybe bring in Sterling and play the wolves boys With Son going to someone.

Hard to say before we know about Salah

If salah is fit it’ll be ok i guess…

And what about shaw? I was pretty sure that if i would bring him in he would bring me two clean sheets. But then I understod that United is the worst team since the dawn of time…

      What was i thinking?

Gunn will be back I guess. They gave some fringe players a chance and it weren’t pretty. Last home game of the season I’d expect them to play full strength team

So GW38 draws near. Much rotation and some strange results and usually 1 game turns into a crazy goal fest but which one this year?

  3. 87
    Horse says:

With Arsenal drawing there are very few teams with anything to play for next GW.

    Elleffcee says:

Salah to have his head injury assessed on Monday.

    Loud Atlas says:

I’m on 24 points with Sterling, Laporte and Vardy to go. Cap Jota flopped and have the Son issue like everyone else. Shaw’s nailed on cleanie didn’t materialise but on the plus side I have TAA 😀 !

At least we can rule out Son from our FPL deliberations until GW3 of 19/20 :woot: .

      Kralin says:

Snap re the score. Not a great week to be behind the average. My highly reasonable gamble on Man U keeping a clean sheet did not come off. I’m not going to bother reading about how crap they must have been, unless they had 60 attempts on goal or something.

Kun (c) to go and Vardy. A 4-4 thriller would be all right. More likely to be 4-1.

      • Loud Atlas says:

This GW’s a bit of a downer after two 111+ GWs but I suppose the glee had to stop somewhere. And with 50%+ captaining Kun (including your good self) then I doubt it’ll get any better. I’m hoping for a Vardy masterclass, basically!

The MNU game was a disappointment; the summer can’t come soon enough for them. They really need to finish on a high vs Cardiff.

        • Kralin says:

Yeah. Mustn’t grumble. And I haven’t fallen back too far, yet, but have an uneasy feeling about tomorrrow.

Hopefully Vardy will continue his rich vein of form.

    Smash says:

So with Son suspended Llorente anyone?

    • 90.1
      Elleffcee says:

Nah, Everton are not that bad at the moment.

    • 90.2
      Rosco says:

Sadly I already own him!! Might actually play him this week!

    • 90.3
      Kralin says:

Not the worst idea – Son to Redmond / whoever then Jiminez to Llorente.

However, as it looks like I’m going to have to furiously back-pedal and get Sterling if I can afford him or Laporte – both of whom, I am certain, are going to punish me terribly tomorrow.

      • Smash says:

Might just gamble on a United backlash and bring in Pogba and Rashford. Will need a downgrade somewhere maybe Travers I for Patricio

        • Mitro says:

          Evening smash

I watched the Utd game and pogba was unlucky not to score! Rashford looked poor though.

        • Kralin says:

I have t’Pog so fingers crossed. Sounds like with a fair wind he may have scored today, not that that should come as a surprise given the opposition.

        • Smash says:

Yeah I watched it both were pretty poor. Struggling to see many stand out players this week though. Definitely players who have home games I think with the exception of City

        • Mitro says:

I reckon vardy, pogba, Babel or bilva could be options!

        • Kralin says:

Yes. The Son absence – which is an utter ballache – may force me into a Southampton enabler – either Long or Redmond – and given the opposition, that seems ok. Have Valery and W-P.

If Mane or Kun get injured I’ll have to take a hit.

I’m going to hide under the duvet and assess things after tomorrow.

In theory Pog and Shaw v Cardiff is fine.

If Firmino and Salah are out of Liverpool’s final game then the likes of Shaq and Origi come into play. For someone chasing that’s as good a punt as any.

        • Smash says:

Yeah I’m looking at Vardy as well as a block to my rival
