Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 37

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 37. Both the title itself and the final relegation spot could be decided this week, depending on the results. Conversely we could very well be saying the exact same thing next week. The difference being that if not this week then next week they definitely will be.

We begin with the televised game that we’ve all been waiting for all season. Cancel your plans and settle down as Burnley, who have nothing to play for go to Everton, who have nothing to play for. This is not quite what Friday night games were invented for!

To be fair to the TV companies every other live game this weekend does actually have something riding on it beginning with Spurs trying to guarantee themselves a CL spot as they visit Bournemouth in the early Saturday game. There are then just two 3pm games as West Ham host Southampton in a dead rubber and Wolves go for 7th against a resurgent Fulham.

Cardiff then stare relegation in the face at 5.30pm as Palace pay them a visit before the first part of the title saga gets underway at 7.45pm as Liverpool go to Newcastle.

Sunday sees us with three games as both Chelsea vs Watford and Huddersfield vs Man United begin at 2pm in a battle to see who wants CL qualification the least. Arsenal will chip in with their own bid later at 4.30pm as they host Brighton.

Man City will then see us out on Monday by either bidding to stay in the title race or indeed winning it, depending on Liverpool’s result on Saturday. Leicester will be the team looking to scupper either ambition.

The games in full…

Klopp has just confirmed that Firmino & Salah are out for the Barca game. That obviously makes them doubts for the final game of the season.

    Afternoon all. Got 1ft
    Thinking son to redmond
Maybe Jiménez to someone else for -4
    What do u think?

Help needed. Consolidating my cash league no. 1 spot so don’t want to do anything crazy.

Obviously Son has got to go. Don’t expect Gray to get many minutes but I’m more worried about the Southampton players not playing and the Brighton lot coming in with City away.

    Hi,
Wondered if you could offer some advice re. my GW 38 transfer(s), I have 1FT and 0.1 ITB.
I’m convinced Salah will play on Sunday, he can’t play against Barca because of the fact he suffered concussion, so it’s a medical precaution.
I was thinking of transferring Jiménez out for a Southampton asset, but their rehearsal against WHU didn’t go too well.
I’m thinking of just dropping Jiménez to the bench and starting with Doucouré – does that sound like a good plan?

    Thanks.

I fancy a few goals in the Wat WH game, so playing Doucoure may not be a bad move. Could consider transferring out one of Jota or Jimenez. I would also play Bednarek over Bennett.

      • Stone Frog says:

May be consider something like Jota to Redmond with the transfer and bench Jimenez.

        • redmecca says:

          Thanks SF.
Even after their poor showing against WHU, Southampton players do have a few points in their favour:
          1) Wanting the give the home fans a decent display in the final game of the season;
          2) They play Huddersfield….
The other option is Jimenez to Long or Ings and bench Jota, I guess…..
Do you think Wolves will be overwhelmed by Liverpool?
I’m not so sure – it could be an end to end game.

        • redmecca says:

What about Jota to Deulofeu, double up on Watford?

        • Smash says:

I’d be wary on Watford. It’s a week before the cup final

        • redmecca says:

          Ah yeah. Thanks Smash.
I’m now considering Jimenez to Rondon….

Wow we almost made it to the last week of the season. I hope all had some fun somewhere along the way. I am thinking Son>Fraser but unsure of what to do with the last FT. With Salah out the Wolves/Liverpool match looks a little less daunting for the Wolves so maybe I keep Jiminez but get rid of Doherty as not to lose points on goals conceeded? Not sure here. Maybe Son to someone else? Last GW though so I have to spend the FT and hope they pay off. I am currently killing in my ML but am in the “playoff” games for a couple of H2H leagues that I would not mind winning for bragging rights. What do you think?

    GoalMachine says:

Plenty of questions – lets start.
    (1) Lloris (vs EVE) / Foster (vs WHU) – whom to start?
    (2) VVD, Wan-B, Bednarek, (Yoshida, Doherty) – double up on SOU def? Which 2 other than VVD?
    (3) Salah, Sterling, JWP, Son, Jota – will sell the last 2 – not sure for whom? JWP has a good match-up, but not sure if he will start.
    (4) Aguero, Gray, Jimenez – game time of Gray? Worth taking a hit or start Gray?

In essence, I need to transfer out SON, either of Jimenez/Jota for FREE (2 FT) and may be Gray (for a hit). Or, keep double WOLVES (they are starters). Not sure what is better.
