Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 38
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Gameweek 38. That’s your lot folks! Well, it will be in about 3 hours anyway… GW38 always seems so brutal. We are used to game-weeks spanning 3-4 days, sometimes even 6 or 7. And then when it really comes down to the final reckoning we are all lined up in front of the FPL firing squad and shot at for 90 short minutes as if we’d just been caught in Malaysia with a gram or two in our back pockets. And it’s a bit of an odd one to call as nearly all matters are sorted, barring a couple of highly unlikely goal difference swings. And we are talking huge ones here – a Liverpool draw and a Chelsea 16-0 win. And a Saints loss, a Swansea win and a 10 goal swing. The Saints do however face Man City so you just never know! But being realistic it’s all done and dusted. The main talking points will probably centre around rotation and regardless of what nonsense the managers trotted out in their press conferences about ‘playing until the end with professionalism’ there will be rotation aplenty. There’s usually a fair few goals on the last day too. Here’s hoping your amongst them.
Many thanks to all those who take the time to stop by and comment on Live Match Chat each week, it’s the fun end of the FPL week, indeed it’s the action end of it. We appreciate every single comment :worthy:

Oh I better welcome all these new members or I’ll get told off so here goes welcome to all the new faces , bring on the WC to bed you all in
That’s very gracious of you, Silvers. Thanks.
Kralin, your mate Nomde, Gallow or whatever you fancy on the day is over on Twitter and going mad in the FFF Group Chat.
Get him on @Gallow111 if you want.
We all know Gallow very well. An old friend from back in the FFC days. Be great if he could join us but he’s said he’s happy on Twitter. I think he liked the anonymity that the Nom account afforded him on FFF. Until he blew it wide open himself last week apparently?!
Just spent last season with him in the Ryder Cup team and the subsequent DM group on Twitter. Top bloke.
Thanks, I had some vague awareness there was a Twitter thing going on but I waffle on too much for Twitter, in fact I ignore it completely, so will give that a miss. Maybe he’ll drop in here now and again.
I’ll miss his high-octane / bordering on truly bonkers management style though.
a few of us had worked out who he was Inittowinit but we politely pretended to be surprised when he ‘outed’ himself last week.
top bloke I hate him tho, swore me to secrecy over that and then blurbed it all out on fff and I thought he was still under cover , was my wingman in Ryder and I don’t think I can repeat the name here or be banned, as I still don’t know the rules on some words lol, but a great guy to have in your corner
@inittowinit
He is a nice guy, just need to find the right coat with a label
“undercover” on it.
Thank you
Welcome to all the new members of this fantasy forum.
This is a so friendly fantasy community where rmt are so welcomed and responded to with great advice on any fantasy football matters.
Shame the season has ended.
Jamie
Elleffcee,
Sorry for being thick but what article and post number is the head to head league promotion and relegation detailed?
Jamie
Think it was on my Newcastle pre season article!
It was. It’ll have its own article and place next season. No idea why it didn’t this. I blame IT
J, go to the hot comments below, its says ‘ £300 Regulars League ‘ when there go to the last page, its all there.
And because I’m trying to be nice for once:

Looks like you clinched promotion, pal.
Thanks AT.
Jamie
Thanks elleffcee.
I will send the email tomorrow.
Jamie
Whoa ! Whoa ! J, hang fire with the mail. Wait until the fantasy footy starts up again. You won’t be forgotten. As for our newbies, we have a regulars H2H league system up and running, all welcome to join. Into the 5th division i’m afraid, unless a load drop out and everyone will move up.
Jamie, if you send that email any sooner than one hour before Elle can sign you up, there is zero chance he will remember. In fact, he has already forgotten this chat. 😉
Elleffcee,
I was meaning to collect the prize money for finishing second in the regulars league not to register in division three.
Jamie
Who said that ?
I’m sure he means 2nd in the main Regs league as opposed to any H2H one.
Didn’t even realise there was cash up for grabs! Bloody typical I’d finish 6 tho 😉
Thanks ever so much to everyone for their help on this site over the last season. Sitting at 6k with 2 weeks to go and a bench boost to be played in GW37 I was hoping for 3k but ended up going backwards and finished at 8k. Disastrous finish to the season and glad it’s all done and dusted.
Has anyone looked at the ‘premierfantasytools’ website? They’ve got a calculator that works out your all time FPL rank (last 5 years) but you have to be in the top 50k this season for them to work it out. Surprisingly I was 1250th. Pleased with that…
Anyway have a great summer everyone!
Nice one twinkle, thanks for stopping by. Shame you went the wrong way at the end there but still an excellent season.
Yeah I’ve seen that tool. Can’t quite get past the bit where they say ‘all time FPL rank’ and then does it over just 5 seasons…
Cheers. A very deflating end to the season but hey.
I suppose it’s difficult to work out the ranking if people started in different years.
Similar scenario to the premier league records that keep being broken. You’d think that football never existed before the premier league.
I’ve had this discussion with them on twitter previously. Personally I think it should be based more on averages with a minimum requirement of 5 years if that’s what they consider fair but whatever.
I concur. Much better way to work it out.
I think it makes it up – I’m at 20000ish and I have two seasons at and over the 1 mil mark where I gave up early on
Thought those were your better ones? 😉
Exactly! 😉
1250 is the stuff of legends. I’m in the 7k region (though have extenuating circumstances).
It’s a nifty tool.
If anyone wants to have a dabble it’s here, although I do still fundamentally disagree with how it’s worked out!
My last 5 years disregards a number of other good years and also includes 2 of my worst ones including the worst.
Horse is in the top 200.

You must have been a joy to be with in 2015/16 😉
2015/16 was the year where I delayed bringing Mahrez in plus one of their defenders and er Vardy as well. Left it far too late. Won my ML but was miles off the pace that season.
I’m seeing a direct correlation with kids being born / young / not sleeping and FPL rankings nose-diving!
2015/16 My glory year, 19th overall and never to be repeated probably! 😉
19th, blimey, giddy heights indeed. Fantastic.
I Just did my MLS ranking there it said, I invented the game. 😉
Hahahaha
Lol
270th with 2 bad years, haha, 2 bad years…. Tremendous ranking.
2012-13 was a disaster at 320k but the other 5 were 16k, 43k, 3k, 3k and 8k. I’m sort of going in the right direction.
Reflecting on this past season the two players I didn’t bring in early enough which damaged my ranking were Grob and Milivojevic.
I still have this fascination of having to spend all my money in the hope that the good expensive ones will outscore the budget ones. It doesn’t always work!
Probably felt like that whenever one got points but if you look at the overall picture you still have to go down to 18th in the points chart to find the real budget player which is indeed GroB and Mili is only 30th. I guess the trick is having landed on one of those as your budget 4th as opposed to someone else, not necessarily having one of those instead of one of the more expensive guys.
Its being widely reported now that Arsenal are are set to appoint Unai Emery as successor to Monsieur Wenger.
Good appointment. Makes a damn sight more sense than Arteta anyway.
Yes indeed – this is a crucial time for Arsenal. Struggling to make top 6 means they have to get this appointment right.
As reported earlier today : “Arteta had some reservations about the job due to the lack of transfer control on offer.”
Hmmm…
Rejected by a bloke who’s never managed a game!!
Emery ticks all their boxes then. I doubt he had much say in who brand PSG bought. ‘There’s your players, go coach them’ etc.
And he knows how to have a team fall apart in a big moment. So what’s not to like if one is an Arsenal fan…
We just need Mitro now and it’s Arsenal bingo.
It’s also being widely reported that Manuel Pellegrini to West Ham is pretty much a done
deal with only minor details left to be agreed.
He’s too nice to manage that shower!!
They should be forced to reappoint Fat Sam. The irony in that fallout was that they deserve him and he deserves them.
Unfortunately, that’s actually another good appointment. Assuming they stick to whatever assurances they have given him for budget and control. Which of course they won’t.
