After two bumper game-weeks, perhaps GW3 was merely a reality check. It matters not though as GW4 is upon us already, with fresh promise. It’s quite the condensed affair too, beginning on Saturday and ending on Sunday. Almost old school. Almost.

It begins with Leicester hosting Liverpool in the early game, giving many a Salah captainer a weekend long headache should he fail to produce. Five 3pm games follow in quick succession. Brighton will attempt to keep the Mitro show at bay. Bournemouth will hope to somehow halt Alonso’s inevitable march in to everybody’s fantasy team once again. Zaha will be looking to put one more nail in Hughes’ coffin. Wally will attempt to make amends for Richarlison’s stupidity. And Arnie will make a last ditch attempt to stop Pellegrini being fed to the Wolves.

The evening game should pique some interest as Man City play host to Ashley’s mercenaries. A classic case of an evening captain over an early one once again, in reverse? Perhaps!

Sunday sees us out with three away games for Arsenal, Man United and Spurs, going to Cardiff, Burnley and Watford respectively.

    • He really does cut a lonely figure at the moment. I’m gutted in a way. He was such an influence back in his early days. As a NFFC fan he did remind me of Clough at his peak, but this more recent image also reminds me of Brian in the mid 90’s and it is as sad to see now as it was back then.

  2. Should I do Tomkins > Bennet early to catch the price changes or just wait given its the international break?

    • Not worth the risk in my opinion.

      • Cheers, I know it’s FPL gospel to wait during an international break

        • true AK47. even if you wait, there will be some occasions where a player gets injured in training after the pressies and you find out the next day when the game’s lineup is announced. (e.g. zaha)

    • I think Dendoncker comes in for Bennett sooner or later anyway

    • Is that really such a pertinent transfer that’d be worth running the risk on?

        • Forget saving the odd .1m.Leave your transfers as late as possible so you have as much information as possible.

  3. Aaaarrrgghhhh! Meditation needed to avoid FFL ruining my weekend. 42 with Shaw and Mhkti left to play…..255 overall puts me +15 vs 60 pts/GW mean linear target. However my ML and overall positions are falling. As awesome as they are, watching the Red Arrows each week can be repetative.

    2FT available. Would welcome thoughts.

    • That’s not a failing score, it’s pretty much a spot on average one being sat between an overall average of 33 and a top 10k average of 47 with 7 and 9 players having been played respectively. Other than Alonso it’s a fairly template-ish squad so probably no surprise in all that. Shaw and Mikhi can have a good impact for you today though being owned by roughly only 10 and 20%.

  5. Anyone planning to WC during the IB?

    • Thinking about it! Wanna do Salah/Bilva to Hazard/Mane but don’t wanna take a -4 to do it! Could WC and swap Pickford/Skeletenberg to a couple of 4.5s and sort Wally/Zaha/Arnie/Hudson as needed while I’m at it

    • Not planning to, unless the IB suddenly and unexpectedly decimates my squad. Are you?

    • I can never understand what is that hilarious euphoria for managers to play their WC during the first IB. I don’t think four games are enough to judge the form of players or teams. Some who had a bad start could start doing well soon and the ones who showed good performance can easily get into a slump. The next break is after GW 8 when we might have a better picture of the situation.

      • More to catch any price risers and increase TV probably.

      • People returning late like Eden, some surprises in the noobs, usually some interesting transfers (- not this year), etc, etc. set the team for 1st month, then WC to Xmas, is/was a common tactic. Each to their own I guess. I can see both sides…

        • At least we don’t have to worry now about serious competition matches during the breaks. In the past the Euro 2020 qualification games would have started in September and throughout the autumn but now with the new format they have been moved to March which will give us an extra headache when there are cup quarter, semis and others.

        • I will be holding 2nd WC as long as possible amigo.

      Just been playing around and I kinda like this, it would mean going without salah and Kane.

      • 9.4 is way too much for someone who is still essentially a rotation risk. Unless you now feel he suddenly isn’t?

        • We look so much better with him in the team, the alternative is firmino.
