Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5.
Back to reality. Or at least some semblance of it. We kick off on Saturday lunchtime with the title decider between Everton and Liverpool at 12.30pm.
The (new look) Soccer Saturday have been snookered again with just the one 3pm game to get their politically correct teeth into as Chelsea welcome Southampton.
Man City and Arsenal face off in the ‘tea-time’ game at 5.30pm
Newcastle and Man United see us out on Saturday at 8pm.
Sunday sees four games with Sheffield United and Fulham getting us under way at 12pm, followed by Palace and Brighton at 2pm, Spurs and West Ham at 4.30pm with Leicester and Villa in the late slot at 7.15pm.
We then have two games on Monday again with West Brom and Burnley at 5.30pm (interesting to see who will fork out 15 quid for that one!). Leeds and Wolves complete our GW at 8pm.
The games in full…

All prizes must be claimed within 30 days of the final GW.
88 with Saiss to go. Overall rank should be under 200k. Hope Brewster starts from the next time as he is my 7th attacker.
Niiiice! Great OR too. I’m on 66 all out.
Good stuff. On 186k with 2 left to play.
What a difference it makes to your game week score (and mood) when your captain hits.
13 points for Son doubled to 26 points for my first meaningful captain hit of the season.
Currently on 80 points once bonus points and auto sub kicks in.
Still got Pereira and Jimenez to play tomorrow.
And to top the game week off; Rangers beat Celtic yesterday.
Jamie
JAMIE!
Don’t know about you but I haven’t stopped smiling yet mate.
Yes GP, I think the pendulum is swinging back in our favour and the league title could be ours to stop 10 in a row.
Jamie
Grealish or Barkley?
A good question. Grealish takes the pens.
I’m not sure Grealish is on pens that might be Barkley
Really? How do we check that out?
McGinn :laugh2:
I think they are both good options. I think you also might get what you pay for there in terms of value
Cheers Smash, I went for Grealish.
Otieno,
An earlier question. “Why are the FPL administrators making price increases so hard to come by, compared to the numerous decreases? Puzzled.”
Horse, in his excellent strategy advice, said pay attention to TV in the early games. He builds to buy. And I’m particularly unsure why there are o many more drops than rises.
I’m afraid I don’t have the answer to that. The algorithm for price increases does appear to have changed to make it more difficult to gain TV and much easier to lose.
Ive used my WC GW5 and a hit GW2 (both pre-planned) but also ive taken an additional -8 (GW2&3) just to protect my TV. It’s currently value 101.9, selling value 100.7.
But I’m not expecting to make any significant changes until after GW8 now
Otieno,
Thanks very much. I appreciate the confirmation; I wasn’t sure if my memory was failing me. I’ve followed Horse’s path for the past few years, and it’s helped me in my mini-league. However, I do recall TV as something that was easier to accumulate.
Monday mornings price changes..
Risers,
Grealish (7.2) Robertson (7.1) Digne (6.2) Chilwell (5.7) Keane (5.1) Dunne (4.1)
Fallers,
Jiménez (8.5) Pogba (7.8) D.James (6.3) Pérez (6.2) Doherty (5.8) Alonso (5.8) Milivojevic (5.7) Trézéguet (5.4) Keita (5.3) McGoldrick (5.3) Hendrick (5.0) Stones (4.9) Ramsdale (4.9) Bailly (4.9) Kolasinac (4.8) Shackleton (4.8) Fosu-Mensah (4.4)
Thanks Padster! Couple more price rises for my boys! – thanks for all the great work!
On a wc with horrendously poor team value.
Current attempt. I’m pretty set on 4-5-1. I don’t like lack of Chelsea or villa. Not entirely convinced by everton triple up either but hard to argue against any of their inclusion.
Bench consists of: Brewster, Taylor (Burnley), stephens
Any ideas?
I don’t think the 4-5-1 offers much flexibility. Is that Stephens from Saints on the bench I’d downgrade him to KWP. I’d downgrade Digne I think and get Watkins or Antonio up top in a 3-5-2. Love the midfield. Martinez at 4.7 is prob the keeper to get
