Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did!
The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we pay good money for this stuff. Add those to last week’s run of Burnley vs Palace / Swansea vs Newcastle / West Ham vs Huddersfield, and with the greatest of respect to the teams involved there can anyone ever recall a worse run of 5 televised games?!
Deep breaths.
Onto Saturday’s 3pm fare then, and we have five games, many of which will hold a fantasy football interest –
Huddersfield will hope to improve on their poor showing on Monday night as they host Leicester.
Liverpool, sans Mane, have a potentially plum home game with a Burnley team who traditionally don’t travel that well.
Newcastle and Stoke may hold more interest in the handshake shenanigans than any on the field activities.
Watford, having had a strong start, will look to test a potentially vulnerable Man City back line in what may be a very entertaining fixture, perhaps not so much if you own defenders from either side.
West Brom and West Ham may have the antidote to the above though, just in case you get over excited.
Saturday evening returns us to the television and at least this time there is some semi entertainment as Spurs will be looking for a first PL win at Wembley against an ailing Swansea
Sunday does finally bring some strong games back to the big screen. Arsenal host Chelsea in the early one and then Man United play Everton in the late one to bring our game-week to a close.

Davies on bench for spurs
WTF Davies on the bench he’s been one of there best players this season 😉
Think it’s rotation. Playing at home gone more attacking. A pain in the ass though
Spurs fullback position is almost guaranteed to rotate whenever there’s a midweek match, at least ever since Poch took over.
Aguero with a 20 point haul. The King of FPL is back.
Stephen price seems to be goin down tonight. Any suggestion who to replace? Was thinking of Lascelles. 0itb
Ok, my wildcard team. I am done. Have a nice weekend all.
Looks good. I’d swap Obiang for RLC or Carrol personally. Pretty weak at the back though as Mbemba and Rosenior are not likely to keep places
It’s surely better having Davies not playing. 😉
Touché
What it looks like now. Hehe. Crazy, I know and I don’t care.
Evening everyone,
I know it’s still only the Saturday but I’m strongly considering using my wildcard as KDB has gone from hero to zero as he started the Watford match well but then his teammates smashed it, while a good few other players in my team aren’t doing well enough. Alonso and de Gea are also too much of a luxury and my rational behind Monreal and Jagielka is that they have good fixtures.
If you could let me know your thoughts, that’d be ace!
Hi Swirly, I’d be reluctant to pick Trippier on a WC right now. I know he’s out there now but you know the risks with that.
This next one may be a bit left field but why not slot Kun in there instead of Lukaku. You could then justifiably swap them over the following week to basically chase Palace and even then swap them back the week after that when City catch Stoke, Burnley and West Brom in a row. I’m not on a WC but it’s still something I’m considering doing. Obviously you are / may be so you’d have to start the sequence with Kun in there.
Cheers Init, have had a other play around and managed to get him in!
As well as, in place of Jesus I assume? Wasn’t quite what I meant but whatever.
Best 6.9 midfielder to replace ince?
Perhaps Gross ?
Or Ritchie.
