Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did!

The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we pay good money for this stuff. Add those to last week’s run of Burnley vs Palace / Swansea vs Newcastle / West Ham vs Huddersfield, and with the greatest of respect to the teams involved there can anyone ever recall a worse run of 5 televised games?!

Deep breaths.

Onto Saturday’s 3pm fare then, and we have five games, many of which will hold a fantasy football interest –

Huddersfield will hope to improve on their poor showing on Monday night as they host Leicester.

Liverpool, sans Mane, have a potentially plum home game with a Burnley team who traditionally don’t travel that well.

Newcastle and Stoke may hold more interest in the handshake shenanigans than any on the field activities.

Watford, having had a strong start, will look to test a potentially vulnerable Man City back line in what may be a very entertaining fixture, perhaps not so much if you own defenders from either side.

West Brom and West Ham may have the antidote to the above though, just in case you get over excited.

Saturday evening returns us to the television and at least this time there is some semi entertainment as Spurs will be looking for a first PL win at Wembley against an ailing Swansea

Sunday does finally bring some strong games back to the big screen. Arsenal host Chelsea in the early one and then Man United play Everton in the late one to bring our game-week to a close.

THE GAMES IN FULL –

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for GW5 from all at FF247!

God aweful week in FPL but somehow Newcastle are 4th in the league… bonkers!

    Matt says:

Evening everyone, thought today would be a bad one when I saw Stephens and then Mounie not playing and having to play Carroll and Naughton but that’s paid off.

You’re actually doing pretty well compared to most on here mate! Bad weeks happen though, no great shakes! A good week for the dead teams, there’ll be many who started with Kun and left their team after GW1 I’d imagine!

      • Matt says:

Yeah just having a look through the scores now and it was a bad week I just got lucky.

Your lot are smashing it! 3rd successive win, fair play! Will Lascalles keep up his scoring or is this just a purple patch?

        • Rosco77 says:

I know I’ve not long been back from the match, enjoyed it a lot! I think Lacelles will score a fair few from corners with Ritchie’s delivery but probably just a purple patch!

        • Matt says:

Ah I’d say the place was jumping. Definitely a deserved win. Yeah that’s what I was thinking with him just trying to narrow down options for Stephens.

      • Rosco77 says:

After proposing Lejuene to Init I’m reluctant to recommend Newcastle players!
We’re having a good run at present but I’m under no illusions that we’ll probably come a cropper against the big boys!

I’m enjoying it for the moment though!

        • Matt says:

Yeah I think he’s ready to kill you right about now! 😉 haha

Yeah I don’t think you’ll do that we’ll against City or that but a few games ago I thought you might get relegated but my mind is starting to change.

    Hi all,

Simple enough question for you all. Time to WC?

Pros: Get rid of Stephens, Ince, Long, Get some City players in
Cons: If I take out Stephens for someone else, then ok I have to play Ince (or take a hit). Its not terrible.

    What do you think?

    Pancho says:

    Woeful WC…
    Spurs underperforming (or getting rested)
No City cover and they score 6
My Spurs can’t even score vs Swansea and look who I have on my bench for 11 points with 3bps?!??

Looks like another shocker is on the cards….

    Gross or Ritchie?
