Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did!

The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we pay good money for this stuff. Add those to last week’s run of Burnley vs Palace / Swansea vs Newcastle / West Ham vs Huddersfield, and with the greatest of respect to the teams involved there can anyone ever recall a worse run of 5 televised games?! :rant:

Deep breaths.

Onto Saturday’s 3pm fare then, and we have five games, many of which will hold a fantasy football interest –

Huddersfield will hope to improve on their poor showing on Monday night as they host Leicester.

Liverpool, sans Mane, have a potentially plum home game with a Burnley team who traditionally don’t travel that well.

Newcastle and Stoke may hold more interest in the handshake shenanigans than any on the field activities.

Watford, having had a strong start, will look to test a potentially vulnerable Man City back line in what may be a very entertaining fixture, perhaps not so much if you own defenders from either side.

West Brom and West Ham may have the antidote to the above though, just in case you get over excited.

Saturday evening returns us to the television and at least this time there is some semi entertainment as Spurs will be looking for a first PL win at Wembley against an ailing Swansea

Sunday does finally bring some strong games back to the big screen. Arsenal host Chelsea in the early one and then Man United play Everton in the late one to bring our game-week to a close.

    Kane captain for me. Was disappointed until I saw the guy in second who I’m chasing do this ….

  2. Took out Kun for Jesus to get the Viking on a WC what a mistake that was should I take a double hit to get him back 😉

  3. Who would you buy for up to 5.1m defender for Stephens?

    Lascelles wont score every week but looks an option? Cedric?

    I’d imagine I’ll wc sooner rather than later so unlikely a long term player

    • Jones and Cedric are the best bets I think of a Swansea defender

      • Should have said Smash. I have 3 Utd already and have Naughton already.

        • Cedric might be best bet then. Teams that have looked ok in defence are Saints, Swansea, Burnley, United, Spurs and Chelsea, Brighton and Huddersfield I think

    • I was going to say jones, but can see you’ve already got 3 united. Maybe Maguire?

    • I’m scared. Back to post 69 again I think. Might be dependent on how many I drink tonight. Might wc around 1:30

        After what I saw today and over the past couple of games city have played. Kun is a must…

    • I do feel more at home with Aguero as captain. There’s always a voice in my head saying Pep will screw us though. I was badly burnt last season sticking with him and not swapping to Kane like everyone else

        I will go to bed tonight and I will sleep like a baby knowing that Kun is back in my team!

        • Ha ha it’s like pressing the reset button that just feels like home

  5. Early thoughts what to do here?

    • Double up on city and get Kun in…..

      • And make him cappo

      • Yeah I’m already tempted by that. Lukaku out for Aguero. I did mention having Aguero and Jesus before season still seems a bit crazy

        • I think we had the same conversation!

          Smash – just do it mate! smile

        • City have scored 15 goals in 3 games

        • Yeah I think we both thought about it but was that Lukaku ownership

        • The ownership made me switch Kun to Lukaku, to be fair it was the right decision for GW1 when he got a brace but city are tearing it up now and I think palace are going to get ripped apart! Kun seems different this season

    • What money and ft’s do you have Smash?

      • He has enough for Lukaku to Kun

      • I have no cash and one free transfer. I think I’m content with my team. Dislike Francis in there. Lukaku to Kun as Mitro says is tempting but no rush

  6. Long term…. Kun or Kane?

    Yesterday everyone would’ve said Kane. Today I’m not so sure!

    • Both too much?

      • Both definitely too much. I currently have Jesus and Alli. Was worried I was gonna have to crowbar Kane in there, with Jesus probably shifting. Now I’m thinking do I just do Jesus to Kun. But part of me thinks it could quite easily be Jesus with the hatty next week!

        • Double city up top?

        • I’m not a fan of that.

        • Jesus/Kun thing can easily go the other way I think. Both have good returns

        • You can see both scoring every week.

          Watch MOTD tonight and see how many chances they had

        • If I could only have one , I’d have Aguero (I do have Kane but not Aguero smile )

        • Problem at the moment is that they are winning the game and one of them it’s different which one every game is going off after 65 mins. Jesus today Aguero in the week and so on

        • I haven’t seen today’s game, but I can’t help thinking we might just be getting a bit excited on the back of one big points haul. I wouldn’t be surprised if Jesus outscored Kun over the course of the season.

    • I’m sticking with Alli and eriksen and going with Kun and hopefully I will have Jesus In a couple of weeks
