Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did!
The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we pay good money for this stuff. Add those to last week’s run of Burnley vs Palace / Swansea vs Newcastle / West Ham vs Huddersfield, and with the greatest of respect to the teams involved there can anyone ever recall a worse run of 5 televised games?!
Deep breaths.
Onto Saturday’s 3pm fare then, and we have five games, many of which will hold a fantasy football interest –
Huddersfield will hope to improve on their poor showing on Monday night as they host Leicester.
Liverpool, sans Mane, have a potentially plum home game with a Burnley team who traditionally don’t travel that well.
Newcastle and Stoke may hold more interest in the handshake shenanigans than any on the field activities.
Watford, having had a strong start, will look to test a potentially vulnerable Man City back line in what may be a very entertaining fixture, perhaps not so much if you own defenders from either side.
West Brom and West Ham may have the antidote to the above though, just in case you get over excited.
Saturday evening returns us to the television and at least this time there is some semi entertainment as Spurs will be looking for a first PL win at Wembley against an ailing Swansea
Sunday does finally bring some strong games back to the big screen. Arsenal host Chelsea in the early one and then Man United play Everton in the late one to bring our game-week to a close.

Should I wildcard or just use the free transfer? 0.4 in the bank and 1 free transfer.
Will probably use it to transfer out ince.
No need of wc, you can sort out problems in your team easily on Ft’s
Not even sure what you would do if you used wild card here.
Should I use WC on this squad.Have no FT and 2.2m itb.
Nothing wildcardish there Shane. Check on Ramsay tonight and then take a decision on him
That’s a decent team no need of wc
Fix Willian (and maybe Rambo) and you’re sorted. Save the WC.
I am showing remarkable and rare self-discipline in not playing my WC. If this continues it’ll be Christmas and i’ll have wasted it
I’m going to wait till next IB
How was yesterday cookie? Score and players left?
26 so far Snookie – Ramsey, Kola, Jonesy & Lukaku to play and Naughton to come in off the bench.
How did you go?
You have lot of players coming, 35 (-4) with Luka, Mikhi and Jones to come, have Naughton on bench but won’t come on 😛
Wish I could say the same Cookie! I, somewhat irrationally, hit WC last night, despite having a team I was actually pretty happy with. The fear of not owning Kun or Kane was just too great! I justified it by using your rationale that I might just waste it if I don’t use it now 😉
Yeah mate just blame me!!
I saw your convo with Init and others – I kind of agree with Init but at the same time I understand why you played it.
If no injuries occur I’ll prob sell Lukaku for Kun next week and keep the WC intact.
Possibly
If I was looking at it as a third party I would’ve definitely been saying ‘don’t WC’. I’m slightly regretting it this morning, but at the same time, it does feel warm and fuzzy having Kun back in the team. And I can see Kane going crazy at west ham next weekend too, which will help my justify it.
You thinking next IB? Or just see how long you can go?
No real plans Banjo
Yeah I was tempted after week 2 but I’m ok with my team
I was ok with my team – and it still didn’t bloody stop me! I’m blaming Mitro, he planted the seed.
Morning
Hey it’s done now and your wild card team looks very strong. It’s about getting the right players in now rather than gradually
Sanchez and Lukaku will both bag hatty’s today and turn it all on its head 😉
The one that worries me is hazard
The one that should worry you is Aguero i would have thought!
Sanchez for me is too expensive regardless of what he does. He’s not going to play up top every week. Plus Arsenal are struggling. Hazard possibly could come into play still building up sharpness. But it’s him or Morata really
I’m fairly comfortable having Morata over Hazard. But the same can’t be said for having Mkhi over Lukaku.
Silvers there??Can we share the pain of letting Kun go?
Morning Constantine really bad call was thinking of bringing him back but Jesus could do a job I thk what are your thoughts
hey silvers.. A bit confused really. Their game time is the real issue. I rage transferred Kun because he was rested. This might happen again. Just think that at the same value i could’ve had Morata who scored 12 points then(GW3). Also, he’s not going to get 20 points everytime. They face Chelsea, stoke, Westham, WBrom in the next 5 games, which are decent at back. I think we might have invest the same value somehwere else. I have myself covered with KDB. and he’s going to stay for sometime.
Might use my wildcard this week. How does this team look?
Pretty solid team that. Does it leave you anything ITB? It’d be nice to do Yoshida to Jones for an extra 0.1.
How’s the current team looking?
Got 0,4 itb so that’s an option
Here’s the current team…
Not convinced you need to WC that team Allan.
Maybe not. Just felt that i needed some aguero in my life after yesterday 😉
I think there’ll be a few panic WC’s after Kun’s antics yesterday, me being one of them! I have to agree with Cookie there though, I’m not sure you need to use your WC.
Allan, you can easily get Kun in without using your WC.
Plus you have Jesus and he may well be the one to grab the points next week.
The panic attack is over and i’ll save my wc.. thanks guys!
Looks a decent team at first glance Allan.
I’d get Elliot in as he immediately saves you 0.5mln and is playing.
In fact if you got Elliot and another (albeit non-playing) keeper for 4.0mln you could upgrade Wood to Rashford?
Have to admit Cookie that’s a tactic I have been thinking about. Elliot and a non playing keeper.
Allan team looks good. I’d swap Yoshida out I think he loses his place soon
I started the season with Jesus, but really wanted Kun. Jesus has been very good, but I still want Kun.
Where do I get 0.9mil from out of this lot?
Tough one. I wouldn’t want to bleed any more out your defence. I guess you could lose DDG, although I’d be tempted to downgrade Mkhi to some like like Ritchie, which would also give you funds to bolster the defence. With all that in mind, Jesus could quite easily take all the points next week and leave you seething.
De Gea is the easiest move I think there
Downgrade Mkhi cause you already have ManUtd cover in Lukaku. Thats the only thing that makes sense. Ramsey/Siggy could be good options. See how Ramsey does against Chelsea.
I like the Siggy move.
Surely that doesn’t provide the funds though??
Christ Siggy is 8.3. That’s a lot considering the way Everton have been playing
Lukaku straight to Aguero and double up ?
I’m thinking about that
Defo
Then City play Chelsea the week after……
I think both are fixture proof
Really? With all the rotation worry around CL you’re doubling up over 20mln worth of strikers?
I’m with Cookie on this
I’m not a fan of the double up option.
It’s an understandable overreaction to missing out on loads of points on an otherwise low scoring gameweek.
Everyone wanted Kane last week
Exactly
Those that are doing well don’t seem to have Kane. There will always be a flavour of the week. A lot of good strikers this year
Agreed Smash. I think the key is to settle on 3 you’re happy with.
Yeah it’s just finding the right 3 Kop
But you can only have 3 out of Kun, Jesus, Kane, Lukaku, Morata, Firmino, Vardy….. the ones you don’t have will hurt you on occasions….
Very true Cookie and think you have nailed the options.
And if you have 3 of them other parts of your team are subsequently weakened.
1st and 5th in the strikers department scoring wise
