Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did!

The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we pay good money for this stuff. Add those to last week’s run of Burnley vs Palace / Swansea vs Newcastle / West Ham vs Huddersfield, and with the greatest of respect to the teams involved there can anyone ever recall a worse run of 5 televised games?!

Deep breaths.

Onto Saturday’s 3pm fare then, and we have five games, many of which will hold a fantasy football interest –

Huddersfield will hope to improve on their poor showing on Monday night as they host Leicester.

Liverpool, sans Mane, have a potentially plum home game with a Burnley team who traditionally don’t travel that well.

Newcastle and Stoke may hold more interest in the handshake shenanigans than any on the field activities.

Watford, having had a strong start, will look to test a potentially vulnerable Man City back line in what may be a very entertaining fixture, perhaps not so much if you own defenders from either side.

West Brom and West Ham may have the antidote to the above though, just in case you get over excited.

Saturday evening returns us to the television and at least this time there is some semi entertainment as Spurs will be looking for a first PL win at Wembley against an ailing Swansea

Sunday does finally bring some strong games back to the big screen. Arsenal host Chelsea in the early one and then Man United play Everton in the late one to bring our game-week to a close.

THE GAMES IN FULL –

Good luck to absolutely everyone for GW5 from all at FF247!

  1. Good luck everyone!!

  2. Capo stats etc…

    • Thanks Init! Appears a Kane captaincy could have a much greater effect on OR than I thought it would!

      • Bit misleading as it represents a split of people who didn’t have him for the first 3 weeks and benefited from that and also benefited from his funds going elsewhere. But yeah that could (hopefully) bite them back this time. Those in there who could also still bring him in and Captain will benefit the most, assuming he works out as expected. Be interesting to know how many of that 1.5k took a hit or played a WC just to readjust and accomodate him.

        Well, I say interesting…

    • I really shouldn’t have sold Lukaku this week should I!!! It’s also a little scary not seeing my cappo in the top 5.

      • Who’d you go with Banjo?

      • Banjo, you obviously didn’t see Everton play last night?

        • Haha no I didn’t! I had a Willian problem and no funds, so got Morata to free up some cash. It’s Kane I’m more worried about not owning!

        • You have neither Kane nor Lukaku? That’s brave smile

        • Or stupid!!! I did realize that after selling Lukaku. Here’s how I’m lined up this week. If it becomes desperate I’m thinking Jesus & Chica to Kane & Hemed, maybe.

        • Jesus & Morata could easily match Kane & Lukaku.

But get yourself a couch smile

    • Wow that’s a lot of Lukaku love

      • Agreed Smash! Especially with Pool/City/Spurs all playing pretty weak opponents…

      • I wouldn’t be surprised if Lukaku batters Everton!

        • Whenever you expect from Lukaku he blanks. That’s what I’m praying for anyway!

  3. AAAARRRRRGGGGGHHHHH

Why did no one text me to remind me its a fekkin Friday deadline this week!?!?!?!

Guess i shouldn’t expect much from Pogba and Mane this week….

    • Oh well, ignorance is bliss and all that, now you know can you text Nike and tell him too, he’s still doing RMT’s from 5 hours ago smile

      • Haha. Nice one 😛

Actually I have an habit of going through posts, even if they are backdated by then, to see if I missed anything; like I’m doing right now. This site is so good even the banter is informative.
That guy I replied to wanted to choose between two players to offload, and I thought if he’s not done yet, he may now have two transfers and get both out solving the conundrum.

    • They’re calling round to yours to fix the garden fence!

    • Chins, gameweek 6 deadline is Saturday, 11.30am. :p

    • Same here, bro. Never got the chance to switch out Pogba and Gamez is 1st man off my bench.

Oh well, 2 free transfers next round.

  4. Well there goes my hope for a 0-0

  5. Jordan Ibe bandwagon!

    • If he sticks one in the net I’ll captain him next week

      • Haha like it!

        • Lol
Is Grob set for 2 PB?

        • Is so far Gavy. Would go a long way to building bridges with him again after he inexplicably put himself on my bench last week smile

        • I love Pascal Grob

  6. Anyone knows what happened to the groß? Sth serious? Just bought him haha

    • He got 5 and looks good for 1 or with luck 2 pb. I have him and will happily take it :))

      • He means did he get injured? Can’t help as I put it on about a minute after he actually went off and there’s no mention of an injury on twitter (Brighton feed) or on FotMob commentary?

        • Sorry inittowinit, that makes more sense.

        • It was a tactical switch after they went 2-1 down – didn’t spot any injury and he looked very good – brilliant cross for the goal.

        • He fell awkwardly on his ankle just before going off. He was limping. Might be ok but could be injured

        • I was only half watching, but definitely heard the commentator say he’d taken a knock. The sub was made 1 min after a different one, so pretty sure it was cos of an injury. No idea how bad though.

        • Damn! Caught out dozing off during the game laugh

        • Yeah I read some comments on live score web and there was info about some of injury.. Hopefully nothings serious tough.. He gives decent returns for that price
