Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did!

The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we pay good money for this stuff. Add those to last week’s run of Burnley vs Palace / Swansea vs Newcastle / West Ham vs Huddersfield, and with the greatest of respect to the teams involved there can anyone ever recall a worse run of 5 televised games?!

Deep breaths.

Onto Saturday’s 3pm fare then, and we have five games, many of which will hold a fantasy football interest –

Huddersfield will hope to improve on their poor showing on Monday night as they host Leicester.

Liverpool, sans Mane, have a potentially plum home game with a Burnley team who traditionally don’t travel that well.

Newcastle and Stoke may hold more interest in the handshake shenanigans than any on the field activities.

Watford, having had a strong start, will look to test a potentially vulnerable Man City back line in what may be a very entertaining fixture, perhaps not so much if you own defenders from either side.

West Brom and West Ham may have the antidote to the above though, just in case you get over excited.

Saturday evening returns us to the television and at least this time there is some semi entertainment as Spurs will be looking for a first PL win at Wembley against an ailing Swansea

Sunday does finally bring some strong games back to the big screen. Arsenal host Chelsea in the early one and then Man United play Everton in the late one to bring our game-week to a close.

THE GAMES IN FULL –

Good luck to absolutely everyone for GW5 from all at FF247!

  1. I thought Rooney looked good today, very involved. Anyone else considering him as a replacement for Chicharito?

    • It’s tough tekno after the way Everton have started but their fixtures do turn now so could be a great shout

  2. Evening guys! Decent weekend with some green arrows. Feel like I need to get in City attack asap here what do you think?

    • Downgrade Firmino and upgrade Mooy to Silva?

      • Cheers Matt, but forgot to mention I have 2.7 in the bank so can go either Firmino to Jesus or Ritchie to silva?

        • I’d probably do Ritchie to Silva to be honest.

        • Why ditch Ritchie ??? He just got you 11 points !!

        • I know Brooky, so do you think Jesus the better move?

        • Mooy to Silva ? Mooy is your main problem at the moment.

        • Yeah I forgot Mooy is the same price so I’d swap him instead of Ritchie.

        • That just works thanks ?? Silva expected to rise soon?

        • Silva forecast to go up tonight on fix !

  3. Evening lads, how did we all end up? Think I’m finishing on 69 so happy enough with that.

Which of these combos do you prefer for Stephens and Mounie?

    1. Davies and Joselu
    2. Otamendi and Joselu
    3. Maguire and Wood
    4. Simpson/Lascalles and Wood

    • Simpson and wood for me

      • Why not Maguire and Wood? Save money?

        • Yeah just feel that extra cash will help somewhere else. Maguire would be good as well tho so up to you

        • Yeah I’m leaning towards one of the Leicester lads not sure which one yet.

    • Number 1 for me, Matt.

Davies has looked excellent this season. Much better than a Maguire or Simpson. I’d prefer Wood to Joselu, but I don’t think the difference is as great.

      • Yeah I really like the Davies move but will he get rotated if he has this injury?

        • I know nothing about this injury. I thought he was just rested. Now you’ve got me worried!

        • I read he got and injury against Dortmund and that’s why he was rested.

        • I thought it must have been an injury. It was strange seeing Trippier out at LWB when Aurier came on. I might get rid though

        • Poch said he got a kick in the Dortmund game.

        • I could be wrong. Some Spurs fan will need to give us some info.

        • But he was on the bench. Surely if he was injured he wouldn’t even be on the bench? I thought Poch just got cocky and thought he didn’t need him for Swansea.

        • Yeah the fact he was on the bench suggests the knock couldn’t have been that bad.

        • That’s what I thought but then again when you haven’t got another LB he could have been there if the worst came to the worst. Will wait for a day or two and see, Spurs are playing mid week in the League cup right?

        • Ouch! A kick in the Dortmund!

  4. Madness to think of saving a FT for the coming GW and avoid getting in on the City action?

Only have enough money to do Ramsey>Sterling.

Davies > Otamendi an option as well.

    • Davies should start next week,he had a knock.Probably save but you need to sort that 4th mid out.

  5. Which pair is better?

    1) Salah & Morata
    2) Hazard & Firmino

  6. :ok:
