Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 5. We can but hope that this article doesn’t come as a surprise to you on a Friday evening and that you aren’t currently sat there thinking “either they’ve made a big mistake, or I’ve made an even bigger one!”. Well, we haven’t, and we are really sorry if you did!
The game-week begins with yet another uninspiring televised clash, as Bournemouth host Brighton on Friday night. Not one that many people will be hurriedly cancelling Friday night plans for then. If you do feel so compelled though you can always rearrange those plans for about 12:30pm on Saturday to coincide with the next woeful TV offering – Crystal palace vs Southampton. Seriously, we pay good money for this stuff. Add those to last week’s run of Burnley vs Palace / Swansea vs Newcastle / West Ham vs Huddersfield, and with the greatest of respect to the teams involved there can anyone ever recall a worse run of 5 televised games?!
Deep breaths.
Onto Saturday’s 3pm fare then, and we have five games, many of which will hold a fantasy football interest –
Huddersfield will hope to improve on their poor showing on Monday night as they host Leicester.
Liverpool, sans Mane, have a potentially plum home game with a Burnley team who traditionally don’t travel that well.
Newcastle and Stoke may hold more interest in the handshake shenanigans than any on the field activities.
Watford, having had a strong start, will look to test a potentially vulnerable Man City back line in what may be a very entertaining fixture, perhaps not so much if you own defenders from either side.
West Brom and West Ham may have the antidote to the above though, just in case you get over excited.
Saturday evening returns us to the television and at least this time there is some semi entertainment as Spurs will be looking for a first PL win at Wembley against an ailing Swansea
Sunday does finally bring some strong games back to the big screen. Arsenal host Chelsea in the early one and then Man United play Everton in the late one to bring our game-week to a close.
THE GAMES IN FULL –

Did Firmino > Aguero and Alonso > Lascelles as the enabler before price rises hit. I am now a Newcastle defence supporter. Now I don’t have to hide behind the sofa when Spurs or City play! I miss Lukaku though…
Simms
I like what those moves have brought you to.
Mkhitaryan is nice coverage of the United attack and with Salah there to, I got to say I would be happy with that.
Defence looks sound as well actually.
Thanks mate!
Any ideas why Davies didn’t play for spurs? Is that it from him now?
Thinking of kane aguero and Davies or Ramsay upgrade? Thoughts? Cheers
He was rested according to the manager.
I wouldn’t rush to remove him just yet.
How about Ramsey down to Ritchie to allow you to get rid of Hanley to bring in a back-up defender?
Ok
No aguero swap? Just thinking of city coverage v cry?
Aguero yeah but not for Kane.
Firmino maybe but that’s two transfers and a Mkhitaryan or Salah downgrade.
Cheers gallant
Morning all, from sunny Portugal! On my jollies but with such a dismal GW I’ve hit the wildcard button. Obviously this team is over budget, although am I in the right areas? Would like Lukaku but no idea how I’d get him in.
4-3-3 the intended formation. How does it look? Cheers.
OLÁ AT!
Courtois to Schmeichel saves you 0.5mln mate and fixtures are as good for Leicester as they are for Chelski.
Thanks Cookie, top shout. Had Alonso in all along but might just switch Kola to Zappa as fixtures dictate if he nails a spot.
AT, Kola works really well over the next 5 GWs
I have triple Spurs cover Davies Etiksen and Kane and triple United cover DDG Micky T and Lukaku too. I usually captain one of them as well.
Sometimes it goes well like Sunday and sometimes it doesn’t Like Saturday. I have no City cover.
Without pens I am looking at shedding Lukaku for Kun but as it’s for a hit I am waiting until the end of the week
Lads. I need a replacement for Stephens and with the price drop that leaves 4.9m.
Who do people think will get more clean sheets over the next 6 weeks; Newcastle or Swansea?
Or should I get Swansea in for the next 3 then change to Newcastle for GWs 9-11?
Hey Milburn, fixtures probably slightly Swansea but there isn’t much in it and your man Lascelles is scoring for fun!
Milburn
How about Simpson (Leicester)?
good shout that
Cheers boys. GP I didn’t even consider them but those fixtures do look good after Pool.
Id go with Naughton. Decent fixtures, and 3 home games in next 4.
Thanks B.
Hi All; 1 FT 0.1 ITB. Was thinking of doing Chic -> Aguero and De Bruyne -> 5.5 mil (not sure who yet) for a -4. Mid not so sparkling if move is done. Worth it or save transfer?
Lossel
Alonso / Naughton / Lowe
D.Silva / Alli / Mkhi / De Bruyne / Hazard
Chic / Firmino
Given your current line up I’d wait till the end of the week then go for it; errr… Mr/Mrs G Spot.
Thanks Milburn! Do you know if Aguero will rise again in price?
He’s expected to rise tonight.
Hmmm. Okay. Thanks! Is there anyone worth looking at for 5.4mil in the mid? Maybe for a bench fondler?.. but not someone who I could play week in and week out? Thoughts? And maybe this mid could rotate with Mee. That could work.
If money is an issue then it’s up to you whether you want to do it tonight but run the risk of an injury occurring through the week. If you do then Brunt is 5.5m and he rotates with Mee but I’m not sure I’d want a 5.5m player on the bench.
If you’re looking for bench fodder then cheaper alternatives are available such as Tom Carrol and Loftus-Cheek at 4.5m
Thank again Milburn! Will pounder that for a bit.
