Saturday brings us four more matches. The Hammers host City in the early game. That is followed by Fulham vs Palace, United vs Chelsea (15th and 8th in the standings) and Liverpool close the show vs Sheffield United.

  1. Some quotes from around the web by the herd, in fact, it’s more like a harras with permanently stuck blinkers.
    “Salah all day long”
    “The master at home games”
” Of course Salah, it’s no brainer”
“Captain? Who else but the Egyptian King”
“Salah is on fire, not looking elsewhere”
Give me some strength please

    • Easy to say that now

    • Thank heaven we dogged that bullet. Hopefully Kane won’t blank smile

    • In the 5 games played this GW so far, no team registered more big chances than Liverpool and no player recorded more big chances than Salah. Just doesn’t always happen there’s really no need for comments like this

      • Smash, sorry if I have misrepresented my comment but I don’t usually follow stats, just events. I am sure things can change in the coming weeks, and they will as we are living in utterly unpredictable times.

    • Choosing Salah as Cap made sense at the time smile . Win some, lose some.

      • He should’ve had two goals. I’m still angry… And on 8pts with cap’n and high ownership on the rest of the lot… bah!

    • State of this comment lol.

A bad return doesn’t make it a bad choice.

      • It was a perfectly logical choice.

For context, Ivan used to do exactly the same when Aguero was in his pomp – basically make a lot of wise-after-the-event noise in the weeks where Kun didn’t score, encourage people not to captain him for mainly subjective reasons (often based on very dubious bias), and then remain silent when he did return. It just seems to be a recurring theme – take a stance against the player most likely to return.

        • Yes Kralin, it was the logical choice. I have to admit, was massively tempted to captain him. As you rightly pointed, every star can have a bad day or two, they are not robots after all. Salah abilities are no doubt and I am sure he will be back for a revenge. It was just the excitement that I didn’t follow the crowd, which doesn’t happen very often.
One thing is for sure, I am keeping Salah by hook or by crook, because I know he will be the top scorer comes to the end of the season.

        • Weird kink

        • It was the logical choice sorry to repeat. It’s the same every GW really, go with your initial gut choice then start questioning it with deadline approaching and opinions multiplying 😉 This time I decided not to waver, pffft!

  2. 9 pt from captain & 3 others. What a disaster.

    • I sympathize Mosc – 15 points, Salah C & only got 4 players to come (Rodriguez, or replacement, Kane, DCL & Kilman). It’s like Snakes and Ladders this year!
Gotta laugh though! Sometime something will come good! smile

      • Ooops – 5 to come counting Lamptey. But Defenders aren’t so glamourous, are they? smile

      • Yes, low score this week following 90pts last. It’s laughable, but I keep coming back. No green arrow this week unless it snows in Florida.

    • 10 pts from Salah and three others for me!

To paraphrase The Frog Chorus, we all fail together :drinks:

      • 16 from Salah(C) and 4 others. “You win some, you lose some” as you said before

  3. Anyone know if James R. trained fully today?

  4. Low scoring game week so far so happy enough with 24 from six players once bonus points added.

Hopefully captain Son will boost my score.

Currently seventh place in my main mini league.

All six managers above me captained Salah for 4 points.

    Jamie

    • All eyes on the Spurs and Everton games for the other major captain choices. Good luck!

      • Yes indeed. We could be in for another shocker ,let’s hope for a Kane’s goal the least.

        • Hi ivan, I followed you with kane in the end. Yes after today’s scores even the 1 goal and BP or 2 would do.

  5. What is with Cooper? Can’t find when he is likely to return?
    Thanks

    • I don’t think it’s major so could be next week

  6. 9 from 4 with 6 sitting on the bench. This is a tough week.
