Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 6

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 6. Choo choo, all aboard the Kun train… Best hope he starts then or there will be fantasy managers throwing themselves under it at about one minute past 2pm today! Quite why a hat-trick last week indicates another one imminently we aren’t sure but let’s see what happens. It’s a bit of a strange FPL week as we actually have 8 games today (Saturday), and then just the 1 on both Sunday and Monday.

We begin with a London derby as West Ham host Spurs at lunchtime, in what has in recent past been a title decider.

3pm gets busy then with no less than 6 games on the go with the likes of Chelsea, Man City and Man United all featuring.

Saturday is rounded off with Liverpool visiting Leicester.

Sunday’s lonely game sees Brighton host Newcastle at 4pm. And sees the Toon fans getting home on Monday morning at some point, if they are lucky. Wonderful planning from the PL again!

We close the week out with Arsenal hosting West Brom at 8pm on Monday.

  1. Anyone who flip-flopped Kane to Kun thinking about flipping back to Kane?

    • I have them both. So no problem here. 😛

          Could be that Kun and Morata will be neutralized by each other’s defense…
          At least, it is what I tell myself to buy me time before I can set hem in!

    • I did that last time thinking Kane isn’t gonna fire… Got Kun… Now for Kane back for firmino with a hit…:p it’s just not my time…? not about to get a stable team..2nd hit for the season already..?

  2. It’s official!! There is someone who has a worse problem than Mitro!! Did anyone see the top scorer this week. He took a -68!!!!! Even Mitro would pause at that one laugh

  3. So Utd fixtures getting a little tougher soon enough. This week I will lose Ince (probably a Gross and Ritchie play off today for his spot).

    Should I be planning on wc’ing after next gw?

    • Why on earth would u WC. I’d just do the transfer u suggested depending on their performance today.

      • hey Milburn. Not wc this gw. After GW 7 though, United have 3 out of 4 in tough fixtures and Ive a double up at the back etc

        • I’d just use a transfer to get rid of 1 personally mate but you know what Jose’s like in the big games and he’ll want to keep it tight. If I WC’d I’d probably be getting your team in.

  4. Afternoon, guys, how’re things? I’ve moved back to uni and settled into the new house over the past week or so, meaning I’ve had little time to come on here, a shame! Plenty’s been changing in FPL lately.

    It seems to be the Big Striker game so far. Firmino needs to go?

    • Hey james! Long time!

      Firmino can probably wait for another GW with Newcastle ahead. He has the potential to go big any GW though. If no other pressing issues in the squad, then Vardy/Morata are tempting.

      • The B, evening, hadn’t even thought about Vardy until now. Both are great shouts… if you can afford the switch!

    • Hi James, that’s good news. I had the game on in the background last night and from what I saw he was fairly ineffectual. In fact in writing that I thought I’d best go do a sense check in case I had missed something. The below is the rating from the Liverpoool Echo, so no I didn’t!

      That said it’s one game and snatching a goal would have glossed over it all as it always does. What are you thinking of doing?

      • That says a lot! Cheers, init, it’d be too tempting to sell him on a normal week. However, with the IB looming and my WC already played, saving a FT so Firmino can have a crack at The Toon is probaby my plan.

    Kun Kane morata

    Or

    Kun Kane Lukaku

    • Any combo of those should work, i would pick Kun Kane Morata at teh moment

    • I think Kun, Kane and Morata but I have the other combo

    • Have the 2nd currently but thinking about switching to the 1st after next week. It’s a small saving but could mean a fairly decent upgrade if invested in the midfield.

    • Hit my wildcard last night & the exact question I am asking myself. I think I am leaning toward morata over lukaku.

  6. Nice to see some great scores on here, although it has only further compounded the frustration I’m feeling with regard to how bad my own season is!

    My team looks good on paper but every week it lets me down. Switching to 433 on my WC hasn’t worked, and in Alonso & Firmino I have £15.5m tied up with little to repay my blind faith.

    I’m thinking about taking a -4 in a desperate attempt to change things around.
    Looking at Alonso + Firmino to either Mbemba + Kane or Morata?
    Or alternatively I can hope Firmino comes good with the return of Mane and do Alonso + lee to Mbemba + Silva.

    Would be great to get some thoughts on my options before I rage hit a -20 as I’m clearly incapable of making rational decisions this season when it comes to my own team!!

    • Hey Rosco. Well your above me. I’ve also had a rough start. No need to panic things can change very quickly. Yeah I do like the Kane move but saving the transfer ain’t a bad idea. If you take Firmino out you won’t have any Liverpool coverage. I still don’t think City can defend and yeah I expect them to score goals I still expect them to start conceding so Alonso could easily get something

      • Hey Smash, Brighton just scored… there goes my Elliot CS too!! It keeps getting worse!

        Last week I almost saved my FT but ended up doing Kane – Kun and ended up 4 points worse off!

        Maybe I should just save it and give Alonso and Firmino one more week and work with 2 in the international break?

        On a side not how do you remain calm in times when you’re not doing so well? Think I get far too invested and probably had delusions of grandeur after last season!

        • I seem to have bad starts most years. My really good seasons though I have started better. Season still yet to settle really

      • Seems like I’m being punished for that gaff both in FPL and today as a Newcastle fan today… I’ll get my coat…

        • He’s not even on the bench today, he’s getting further away from the pitch each week! I fully expect they’ll bring him out and publicly kneecap him before the next game. I’ll keep playing him though, just in case smile

    • Rosco, don’t do anything rash you will only regret it. Tricky one next week for Alonso though against City might be the best decision to loose him but wait until this GW is over & the CL matches before committing.

      • Yeah I’ll just sit on my hands till later in the week and deal with it when I’m less emotionally invested!

    • Hi Rosco. Your team looks pretty decent. If I was you I would sit on my hands until the Chanpions League matches are out of the way.
      Seems to me that a lot of FPL managers myself included are happy with their one GW and the next they want to carry major surgery.
      As Kop says Alonso has good fixtures after the City match.
