Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 7

Gameweek 7 gets going with a lunch time affair. The slowly improving Hammers take on the slowly deteriorating Man United. That fixture is followed by six 3pm matches. Arsenal take on Watford, Everton tangle with Fulham, Huddersfield hands over 3 points to Spurs, City put 5 past Brighton, Toon welcome in Leicester and Wolves look to impress again vs Saints. All them fixtures are just the appetisers though, for the match of the day. The late game sees Chelsea welcome in top of the league Liverpool in what we all hope will be a back and fourth battle. Should be interesting all that attacking talent going up against each other. Salah vs Hazard, also Mane vs Hazard and if that wasn’t enough, Firmino vs Hazard.

All the fun didn’t end on Saturday. Well, actually, it did!! Cardiff vs Burnley?! Really? One game on Sunday and this is what we got?

Monday sees an end to the gameweek when Bournemouth tackle the hell out of Zaha. Lerma to get a yellow via love tap to the shin on Wilfried? No doubt!

I’ve been a United fan for decades, through the good and the bad, and some teams were really bad. But we stood behind them because they TRIED. We got relegated ffs, manager and players too old with crap tactics. The following season, EVERY away game were capacity crowds, still a record to this day. Sack Pogba & Jose today, if Pogba sues withhold his registration through all the appeal courts. Get Fergie & Big Sam to sort out that squad until the end of the season. I don’t care about the results, I want the mentality sorted, or the next generation coming through will be exactly the same, and the next, and so on ad infinitum!!!!

Hear, hear Zorro! I doubt Jose will see Christmas at Old Trafford.
It’s a high time for him to go.

Agreed! For the correct mentality, you need homegrown players as the core of the team, you need to reproduce the class of ‘92! Giggs, Scholes, Beckham, Neville bros… That’s what you need instead of buying indifferent players from abroad for big money!

      • secretzorro says:

The big players should be the icing on the cake. Remember RVP, he said my biggest regret will be never winning the Prem with Wenger. Fergie said, get your arse up here and we’ll win it together. And they did, still beats me how with those donkeys in tow. I would seriously take a relegation if it meant we could return to old standards. You all know I hate Liverpool with a passion, centuries without winning the title but look at the team and the passion those fans are having under Jurgen and even if they win nothing (as usual), those fans will be excited awaiting next season. I’m jealous.

Liverpool are playing some exciting football, and it took them to the CL final as well! Very exciting! I’d rather have a good attacking side to root for that wins nothing (but no doubt has a chance to win) than a defensive side that wins meaningless cups and so forth… (meaningless for the big team) Funny enough when Mourinho celebrates a Carling Cup trophy it’s like he’s at Wolves 😆

      • You don’t need home grown players who give a shit, you just need players who give a shit.

Madrid have 1 player who is home grown that is a regular starter over the last couple of years, the right back.

If you have been able to keep Ronaldo 10 years ago, history probably be very different for both clubs. Sometimes it comes down to the genius of one player or their will to win and accomplish great things. I realise he basically forced his way out, but I find it hard to believe there wasn’t some way he could have stayed.

        • secretzorro says:

He begged to leave us Mito & SAF said I cannot replace you now, give me 1 more year & you can leave with my blessing. At the end of the next year he left, apparently they’re still friends today. That’s the mindset we need.
You are right though, anyone who truly cares is what’s required & then pay them what they want. Stop trying to buy loyalty, reward it handsomely.

Mate, as soon as Sir A went it was bound for a period of slump. Allowed for an assortment of decisions not necessarily for the benefit of football. Such is the life in the cyclical world we play fantasy at hehe but in the real world Jose is in some peril that’s true.

      • secretzorro says:

I know Van, but we need a manager with the gonads to rule the roost or we’re doomed to failure, and Woodward needs to stick to the commercial side. We have, SAF, David Gill & Sir Bobby on the board for heaven’s sake! Give it to Conte (yes really) & tell him to man up & any conflict with the players, they go. And he reports to Gill only. Late for training, 2 weeks wages; posting on social media without permission, 2 weeks wages EVERY post. Out before the night of a match, 2 weeks wages etc etc.

        • VanDan says:

haha 1984 anyone? I do agree about the social media bit though, shut your effing keyboard unless you’re posting about your latest stupid avocado on toast escapade on instagram. As immersive as it might be at least it doesn’t harm your club.

        • secretzorro says:

There was a footballer on the radio the other day, can’t remember his name now. He was saying that when he retired from football he was fecked. Didn’t know how to pay the mortgage, or the school fees. Didn’t know the phone number of his gardner, nor the password of his overseas bank accounts etc etc. Someone else did everything for him.
So 1984 for the youngsters ain’t such a bad idea.

Well the week is going worse again with none of the scorers or assisters in my team – and all are expected scorers Sterling(Sane), Kae(Trippier), Vardy from PK.
