Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9. We get started early with our FPL weekend with a Friday match up of West Ham’s Jose ‘2 point’ Hernandez vs that guy with the weird B or double ss, Groß from Brighton. Saturday then sees the struggling champions Chelsea facing off against the surprising Hornets. Five 3pm games follow that lunch time affair. Huddersfield host the ‘scared of Liverpool’ Manchester United, City go for 10 goals vs Burnley, Newcastle takes on Hodgson and all his memes, Stoke show their face vs Bournemouth and Swansea tangle with the Shakespeare-less Leicester. Sunday brings a conclusion to GW9 with Everton and their soon to be sacked Koeman versus the will never be sacked Wenger and his castrated XI. That is followed by the best fixture on paper when future Real Madrid star Harry Kane trolls his GW8 FPL captaincy backers by scoring a brace vs Liverpool in what hopefully is end to end stuff.

    I brought in Aguero and captained him this week.. Quite happy with my ROI… but here’s the thing. He runs into space like an old man…watch his hips, he’s only 29 and a lethal striker when the ball is at his feet but I’m not sure of his production for the rest of the season after watching his movement today. Car crash and all.. I get it.. I’ve bruised or broken ribs before (you never really know unless you get an x-ray) and it’s not a fun recovery, but I think Jesus gets the start next weekend, is favored by Pep and I’m considering Aguero->Jesus this week. Crazy talk or……?

      constantine says:

      Agree..but he looked good with the shots he took. It’s just that we are right now comparing him with the likes of Jesus and Sterling/Sane. But, if he’s going to start every game and get goals every game (either by penalties or open play) i don’t think why he shouldn’t be in our teams

      • highaction says:

        It is a conundrum. I’m not saying that he won’t get goals from here on.. but you’re right Constantine, Sterling, Sane and Jesus are younger and hassle for the ball better.. I like work ethic, Alexis was my guy last year because he never stopped moving, I want Kun to do well but I don’t have the faith in him or his manager right now to deliver my points..and he’s showing his age already..

        • constantine says:

          The trust on manager things applies to every city player right now barring KDB and silva.. Rest all are bound to get rotated every now and then, including Kun. There’s another way of looking at things here. With his experience, he can always be at right spots, like he did against Watford.. Even yesterday he was at few good places to have scored. But yes, if you say that the funds invested in him could be utilized better somewhere else, can’t argue on that part. Same for Hazard, Sanchez. Hence their low ownership. Kane didn’t score in one game and his price fell within a wek, which is crazy imo. Don’t know where this is going, but i hope I’m making some sense

        • highaction says:

          You’re making perfect sense, and mirroring my thoughts. I’m not touching Alexis or Hazard until those guys prove their worth consistently this year.. I don’t own him yet, but Richarlison shows that desire (and stupidity) and will be in the squad soon. As for City, Sane shows hunger and seems to have something to prove and he might be the next guy I go for if Pep shows his faith in him.

    constantine says:

    Guys..need your suggestions on my WC team. Draft two with Diouf in. No Chelsea cover worries me. Should I do something about Eriksen? Don’t have balls to let Kane go.. Any other options?

      Smash10 says:

      I like the team on the whole. I’d prefer Morata and Moting instead of Diouf and Eriksen. Can’t see Diouf keeping up with this form

      • constantine says:

        Cheers Smash..Like Morata very much, but his form and temperament was awful yesterday. OTOH, Hazard looked much more involved and a dangerous threat to the opposition.

        • Smash10 says:

          Yeah I get that don’t think he’s fully over that hamstring problem. I think he will outscore Hazard over the season

        • Mitro says:

          Morning Cookie

          I brought in hazard Friday and do agree with what your saying but from what I have saw midweek and yesterday I think he will get some big hauls in the coming weeks!

        • Brookyboy says:

          Morning lads,i brought Hazard in last week as a 2 week punt.He will be leaving my team this week for a Liverpool mid ! 3 out of Chelsea’s next 4 fixtures are away from home and his record away from home is pretty terrible.I think he is an expensive luxury.

        • constantine says:

          Brooky..with the current form he’s in, does he not look fixtures proof, if we ignore the form and fixtures of the rest?

        • Smash10 says:

          I agree with Brooky. He’s a bit of an expensive luxury. He quite often goes missing in away games. Yeah he’s going to get points but you want more from that price. Pedro is one to keep an eye out for if he starts getting minutes again now he’s back from injury

        • Brookyboy says:

          What form ? He may be playing well but it isnt reflecting in fpl points.Id have a city mid,Eriksen and Pool mid all before him at the mo.Chuck in Gross and Richarlison and that would be my ideal midfield right now.

        • constantine says:

          By form I didn’t mean returns in the last game. Had Morata been fine and firing, he could’ve had some more gamepoints too i believe.Or may be I’m just a fanboy who wants him to do good. Agree on the part that F&F of other players is much better though

        • Brookyboy says:

          Cheers Cookie.Just a few quiet Jd’s at home taking it all in on social media ! The missus even let me watch match of the day !! smile Still in shock to be honest.As i said before after our recent run i thought we might freeze and get a spanking but we were brilliant.Committment desire passion hard work etc so props to the manager for keeping things positive !

        • Brookyboy says:

          Yes mate.I will say that Jones going off so early was a big plus and his replacement Lindelof was at fault for the 2nd goal.Also Mooy was pushed further forward playing in the 10 role which seemed to work.So anyway yeah deffo one to savour !

      Brookyboy says:

      Going back to your wc Constant im starting to think that 3-5-2 might be the way forward.The cheaper mids like Gross Richarlison etc are doing better than the cheap forwards and keep chipping in.

      constantine says:

      Brooky, how about this one with 3-5-2?Ayew would switch with Surman

    Is there a site which gives you information on the week-wise points of players for previous seasons? Just curious

    Matt says:

    Morning fellas, messing around with my team and came up with this for a -8. I was trying to sort out a WC team because I’m bored but realised I didn’t need to change too much. Are these moves worth making?

    Lukaku -> Kun
    Wood -> Abraham
    Carroll -> Richardlison
    Maguire -> Duffy
