Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Gameweek 9. We get started early with our FPL weekend with a Friday match up of West Ham’s Jose ‘2 point’ Hernandez vs that guy with the weird B or double ss, Groß from Brighton. Saturday then sees the struggling champions Chelsea facing off against the surprising Hornets. Five 3pm games follow that lunch time affair. Huddersfield host the ‘scared of Liverpool’ Manchester United, City go for 10 goals vs Burnley, Newcastle takes on Hodgson and all his memes, Stoke show their face vs Bournemouth and Swansea tangle with the Shakespeare-less Leicester. Sunday brings a conclusion to GW9 with Everton and their soon to be sacked Koeman versus the will never be sacked Wenger and his castrated XI. That is followed by the best fixture on paper when future Real Madrid star Harry Kane trolls his GW8 FPL captaincy backers by scoring a brace vs Liverpool in what hopefully is end to end stuff.

THE GAMES IN FULL

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

  1. Best replacement for Jones if he’s out long term?
    Magiure, Ward?

    • Leicester has Everton, City and Spurs in next 5 GW. So probably Ward due to next 3 straight favourable fixtures.

    • VVD

  2. Hello,
This is my first post here, keep up with the content quality, it’s awesome!
My team is in a bit of a mess after last GW disaster, I have only 1FT but £2.4 in the bank, what would you advise?
I’m ready to take some hits, and this could need a lot of them!
    Thanks

    • I would say too much invested in defense but think you wanted to play that formation, would do Mikhi and Wood to Vardy and Richarlison?

    • Not a fan of hits, so Wood > Diouf. Docoure is a decent backup on bench in case one of Jones/Davies misses next GW either due to injury or rotation.

      • Thanks.
With what I have in bank I could do Wood> Vardy or Rashford instead of Diouf?

        • Or Firmino?

        • Not picking him up when he has 6 consecutive blanks. Unless you are feeling very strongly about Liverpool…

        • That’s what Koeman does to an Everton fan! :hippo:

  3. What to do here with Jones and DeGea?

Put one of them on the bench? Put both of them on the bench? Or leave them as they are.

United will probably be defensive as hell but probably won’t get a clean sheet anyway. But DeGea could get some points from saves. Elliot or Ward might get a clean sheet…

    • Forgot the image…

    • Burnley v Newcastle has 0-0 written all over it. I’d play those 2. I’d certainly put more money on that being 0-0 than Spurs not scoring anyway.

      • Could be a 7 goal thriller

        • Is this about Kane battling the bus? Will he score? Surely, yeah, perhaps, but a goal fest? Can’t see that happening. Both teams are very good at closing the oposition atack. 1-1 at best!

  4. Any thoughts? 1FT and 1.9 itb.
My immediate thoughts are Lukaku to Kun/Morata

  5. Lukaku set to fall in price today and aguero set to rise. Should I make the transfer (Silva and Lukaku out for Aguero and Richarlison) or wait till I get more information on Jones?

    • Agree with the moves and I’d probably do them regardless of any Jones news but I’d also wait until after the Wednesday games as you potentially have 10 players with a game this week.

      • Imagine the destruction if all 10 get injured without a wild card in the bank.

  6. Evening all what are people’s thoughts on Koeman departure & who do the Everton fans want all that have been mentioned seem very defensive minded 😉

    • Klopp smile

Seriously though they should give it to Unsworth. He’s served his apprenticeship and deserves a crack. Winning the U23’s league last season is no mean feat, in fact it’s outstanding. It serves a number of purposes too. It’ll immediately get the fans back on side and the terraces bouncing again. Plus it feeds into our tradition of essentially keeping things in house. Our most successful times have usually come from doing so.

The final decision may well show who actually runs the gaffe now too. If it’s a Kenwright (chairman) decision Unsworth gets it. If it’s a Moshiri (majority shareholder) decision it’ll be a big name like Ancelotti, just as an example.
