Gameweek 11 is all about balance — five games on Saturday, five on Sunday. Nice and tidy. Almost suspiciously organised for the Premier League.

We kick off with Manchester United’s trip to Spurs (12.30 Saturday) — a lovely short hop for the away fans, just enough time to squeeze in their traditional breakfast of jellied eels before settling in to watch another away-day masterclass in frustration.

Into the 3 o’clocks, and it’s slim pickings for anyone watching via “alternative broadcasting methods.” Everton host Fulham in what promises to be 90 minutes of football, technically speaking, while Burnley head to the London Stadium to face a West Ham side buoyed by their 3–1 win over a Newcastle team who seem to have already mentally clocked into their next Champions League trip.

Things perk up ever so slightly in the evening fixtures with a shock top-of-the-table clash: Arsenal away at the Stadium of Light. Yes, really. Granit Xhaka will be itching to get one over his former employers — though that might be a tall order. Still, it’s a nice day out for the Sunderland faithful, and the city’s cheesy chip vendors will be absolutely minted by full-time.

Following that, at a frankly ridiculous 8pm kick-off, we get bottom-of-the-table Wolves visiting Stamford Bridge. Halloween may have been last week, but for those who enjoy a proper horror show, this could be a bloodbath.

On Sunday, there’s no gentle easing into things — four of the five fixtures drop at 2pm. Neutrals will be spoiled for choice, though “spoiled” might be doing a lot of heavy lifting there. The M23 derby looks the pick of the bunch as Brighton’s Seagulls flap their way to Selhurst Park to face a Palace side sitting just one place and one point above them. Elsewhere, Brentford have what looks like an easy three points against a Newcastle side that breaks out in hives whenever they leave the North East, Villa host Bournemouth, and Forest welcome Leeds in a meeting of “two teams doing their best.”

And then we close the weekend with the main event: Liverpool’s excuse-making manager Arne Slot takes the Reds to the Etihad to face a City side sitting just a point above them in second. This one feels like a six-pointer — though we’ve said that before. Will we get goals? Drama? Or the traditional tactical chess match that ends in a soul-crushing 0–0? Place your bets, people.

The games in full…

  1. Good luck fellow FPLers!
May the force be with you !
    😉

  2. Good luck this gameweek all.

Looks like Mbeumo is lone striker now? Holy. Means he’s even more of a must.

    • So many new interesting places. I also really like Slob if he continues in the same role. Rice but better.

    • Nevermind Cunha on top.

    • Boring game so far. sorry

      • Mbeumo scores. dash2

        • I almost benched him at one point crazy

        • Lol. You joking right? I see Reijnders first on your bench. Between the pair the decision should be clear. Even though Reijnders had 2 assists in the champions league. His time is unclear.

        • That’s true Razi. Just hope Neto has fully recovered and plays more than part time.

      • It’s not so bad, we could have been stuck watching NUFC vs WHU haha Woeful defending clearly but the cross was quite accurate, Mbeumo didn’t even have to jump.

        • Where you from VanDan?

        • Nowhere really, but grew up watching the Milan triumvirate hence the name, strong memory.

        • Ok. Then your van Bastejln profile makes sense.

But nowhere? You were born in earth, no?

        • Earth? Probably. Long story mate, let’s stick to football yes

    • He’ll be at AFCON in four GW’s time.

  3. Must be something to be the Courtois understudy.

  4. I have 1FT and £900k ITB.
I was looking at Alderete > Man Utd player, and Maguire but now he’s out injured again, who is the best option, as I was also looking at Man City DEF, but I can only afford O’Reilly, I could just do VDV but they have more difficult matches to come, so I want more of a possible player for my team then just on the bench.
    Thoughts please.

  5. Bruno gets a last minute assist

  6. What a horrible decision to own Bowen, leave alone captaining him! Looks completely uninvolved. Now Haaland brace or more guaranteed

    • I had him for one GW (GW9) only, and he got an assist, away to Leeds where West Ham lost 2-1, I then realised I had made a mistake.

      • For the 2nd week in a row, west ham score 3 and bowen does nothing.. though last week i played free hit..

    • Not sure what I was thinking. They have been scoring goals, but Bowen not part of it. I took C off him just before lockout

      • I think Bowen has just had enough now, he decided to stay at West Ham too long and with the issues this season, I think he’s thrown in the towel.

        • With the 1 FT, needed to sell Doku this week. Bowen to Mateta now before next gw. Wanted to give Bowen last chance vs Burnley at home.
