Gameweek 11 is all about balance — five games on Saturday, five on Sunday. Nice and tidy. Almost suspiciously organised for the Premier League.

We kick off with Manchester United’s trip to Spurs (12.30 Saturday) — a lovely short hop for the away fans, just enough time to squeeze in their traditional breakfast of jellied eels before settling in to watch another away-day masterclass in frustration.

Into the 3 o’clocks, and it’s slim pickings for anyone watching via “alternative broadcasting methods.” Everton host Fulham in what promises to be 90 minutes of football, technically speaking, while Burnley head to the London Stadium to face a West Ham side buoyed by their 3–1 win over a Newcastle team who seem to have already mentally clocked into their next Champions League trip.

Things perk up ever so slightly in the evening fixtures with a shock top-of-the-table clash: Arsenal away at the Stadium of Light. Yes, really. Granit Xhaka will be itching to get one over his former employers — though that might be a tall order. Still, it’s a nice day out for the Sunderland faithful, and the city’s cheesy chip vendors will be absolutely minted by full-time.

Following that, at a frankly ridiculous 8pm kick-off, we get bottom-of-the-table Wolves visiting Stamford Bridge. Halloween may have been last week, but for those who enjoy a proper horror show, this could be a bloodbath.

On Sunday, there’s no gentle easing into things — four of the five fixtures drop at 2pm. Neutrals will be spoiled for choice, though “spoiled” might be doing a lot of heavy lifting there. The M23 derby looks the pick of the bunch as Brighton’s Seagulls flap their way to Selhurst Park to face a Palace side sitting just one place and one point above them. Elsewhere, Brentford have what looks like an easy three points against a Newcastle side that breaks out in hives whenever they leave the North East, Villa host Bournemouth, and Forest welcome Leeds in a meeting of “two teams doing their best.”

And then we close the weekend with the main event: Liverpool’s excuse-making manager Arne Slot takes the Reds to the Etihad to face a City side sitting just a point above them in second. This one feels like a six-pointer — though we’ve said that before. Will we get goals? Drama? Or the traditional tactical chess match that ends in a soul-crushing 0–0? Place your bets, people.

The games in full…

  1. Arsenal clean sheet gone. Lol. Sunderland score. dash

    • It was always going to happen at some point, it is always too risky to have double or triple defenders from the same team, also a defender and goalkeeper.

      • Yes. I only have califiori and saka from arsenal. So that way a good result for me. Wish i just c Saka instead of useless Bowen

    • You called it Raz

      • Hehe. Was a joke. Any team can concede a goal. People underestimate Sunderland. Also, Arsenal played midweek.

  2. shock
    Saka has scored a goal!

    • He’s saving my gameweek so far.

      • Still nothing from Enzo since I got him. Which hurts.

        • Just booted him for Mbeumo. Had to take a hit to pay for it but don’t care. Will pay off in the long run.

        • One of my worst transfers in of the season can’t wait to get rid !

  3. Who would you start…Pope or Dubravka? Both shite.

  4. It really looks like Woltemade is going to drop in price tonight as people are bringing in Pedro, however I am thinking further ahead.

Woltemade to Kroupi Jr, I know Evanilson is back, but Kroupi Jr is the best option for a playing cheap FWD and with his form he’ll surely keep getting the minutes as a sub, anyway that would allow me to do Rice > Palmer, so I need to do the Woltemade move first, is Kroupi Jr the best option?

These two moves, Woltemade > Kroupi Jr then Rice > Palmer will leave me with Zero funds, am I crazy to think this is a good idea?

    • I won’t be doing Rice > Palmer until the latter is back.

      • I wouldn’t be getting rid of Rice at all

        • I could do Sarr but I have only just brought him in.

    • Patience? International break? Selling Rice really? Why being in players if you sell them after 1 bad gameweek?;Rice is doing fine. Sarr also has fork and great fixtures. We had a good reason to drop Pedro before after 9 had gameweeks from him. Lol. Little.did we know he would finally get going after.

But IB are dangerous for early transfers. Not just injury but also fatigue. And especially if Brazilians, Colombians like Pedro and Mbeumo travel to South America.

I’ll sit in my 2ft unless something really weird happens.

      • Except if you own Bowen. He must go. Now

      • Mbuemo colombian? laugh
        He is from Cameroon.
Yes why get palmer? Any indication he is 100%?
Let him start playing injury free and get his form back.

        • Aaah. Mixing up nationalities. laugh

Big difference, Africa and South America. Meaning Mbeumo will leave for AFCzoN in gw 17?

  5. West Ham and Chelsea both score 3, but neither Bowen or Enzo involved with any. Frustrating

    • Very. I know people are like really hard on Enzo. Didn’t see the game yet but he seemed very involved again with attempted assists, creating big chances and shots on goal I feel selling him is another Pedro to happen.

      • Actually worse if he starts hitting again after we sell him. Since according to the numbers he should be good soon. It’s kind of similar to umm Mateta, whom underperformed the first few games but had crazy amount of shots. I bought him right before his hattrick, which changed everything. Numbers said he was about to score big.

Moment most sold Pedro he was like 4 games without a shot on target and we kept him for 8 or 9 weeks. Lol.

  6. Terrible week just got worse. Semenyo missed penalty FFS!
