Welcome back once again, finally. It’s a 3 day GW, with Saturday doing the heavy lifting.
Burnley and Chelsea get us under way at 12.30pm. We then have 5 games at 3pm; Bournemouth v West Ham, Brighton v Brentford, Fulham v Sunderland, Liverpool v Forest and Wolves v Palace. Newcastle and Man City bring up the rear ast 5.30pm.
That leaves Sunday a bit light with Leeds v Villa at 2pm, before an epic NL derby for Arsenal and Spurs at 4.30pm.
Man Utd and Everton should be interesting as a Monday night treat at 8pm.

I’ve activated my FH
This is harder than I thought. Usually FH are when there are double game weeks.
I’ve targeted the weaker teams.
Would love some thoughts, especially with Gakpo, Watkins and the double city defence

Yeah, it’s a bugger trying to get everyone in and taking into account the ‘if, buts and maybes ‘ of it all, especially in a single GW when a goal from one of your normal players (that you’ve had to leave out) could mean your FH scores less than you might like it to.
Haven’t yet hit the button but am ruminating on it!

I would drop gvardiol and put either Doku or Foden. Doku preferably. Whole team was rested so they ll start. Would remove Gakpo. Not even sure on Salah but he is a differential now. Would still mix it up, just players from 4 teams u got.

I really don’t kow what to advise you. My own thoughts are below, but there are so many configurations for the FH and not enough spaces to fill with the players we want.

I don’t know about Spurs, the players there just seem really poor and I don’t know how they are as high up the league as they are.
I am tempted to go with L.Paquetá against Liverpool!

Well, since we’re all at it, this is a possible FH team – but I don’t like leaving out some of my Arse + Palace blokes! Am not certain about doing it, but this seems to tickle my fancy (as it were!) – hahaha!

Week 16 is when we get the top up transfers. If you FH in 16, you basically lose your GW16 free transfer.

Yeah but if it’s topped up to 5, then you’d just keep the 5, regardless, wouldn’t you? I only plan to have 1 free trade remaining, so that’d be okay, then FPL just automatically tops it up to 5, or maybe I’m not seeing things correctly.

Text on the FPL site help pages says,
“Following the Gameweek 15 Deadline on Sat 6 Dec 13:30 and ahead of Gameweek 16 on Sat 13 Dec 13:30, Managers will be topped up to the maximum of 5 free transfers, regardless of how many transfers are available to them at that point.”

Hey Bunnies just to let you know about the official line (and others who are interested in the question of what happens around GW 16, vis à vis using chips), here is a reply from the FPL help desk,
“To account for players leaving for the African Cup of Nations, all FPL managers will have their number of free transfers topped up to the maximum possible number of five for Gameweek 16.
If a manager decides to activate their Wildcard or Free Hit chip for Gameweek 16, they will still have five free transfers to use for Gameweek 17.

Read this commentary on a footy blog. Do you guys agree with the writer? Personally I’m staying away from LIV for now.
Slot isn’t actually a good manager. They won the title on the strength of Klopp. They haven’t replaced Diaz and Trent. Jota’s passing gives them an excuse for a bad day, wrong mentality to have. Isak’s mentally shot after all the love he had from the Toon was taken away. Those fans won’t let him forget this betrayal. He should of waited for Real Madrid or Barcelona. They don’t have centre back cover for Konate when he’s shocking, which is quite often. VVD is a deplorable character who only works if he has elite all around him, he believes his own hype and his arrogance is detestable. MacAllister not been fully firing. Gakpo is good but not quite good enough. Wirtz needs to have everyone play off him but Liverpool don’t play like that. Salah has slowed down a little, albeit not actually that much but just enough to slice off that individual edge at times. Szoboszlai is class but half of the time is under-utilised at RB. Ekitike hasn’t been able to put together the run he should have had in the team because of Isak. Frimpong and Bradley are all a bit unlucky what with injuries. I think Frimpong will end up being pretty good for them. Kerkez will work better in a different tactical setup, I could see Wirtz slipping him through in the future, just like Frimpong. I would sell Gakpo and Salah this summer, buy Olise and have Isak first choice on the left. and let Wirtz dictate everything. Between Gravenberch (also class) Szoboszlai and MacAllister they should be fine in the midfield. Two new centre backs needed. Guehi to replace VVD and I’d be trying to get Thiaw out of Newcastle for the other side.

Yes from what I have seen, I don’t think Liverpool supporters are terribly happy at the moment! It’s normal to have strong negative (and positive!) feelings when you’re emotionally attached to a club.
I’m going to take it with a grain of salt (although I’m not such an expert on the inner workings of football clubs!) and perhaps give Mo and VVD one last ‘ride’ on a FH. Then again, I may not….

I don’t even think Slot has been that involved with the transfers.
The Isak deal was really strange, it was as if they were compelled to buy him, like a deal had already been done, Ekitike was pretty much snapped away from Newcastle and/or Man Utd, this lead Newcastle to apparently want to keep Isak until they found someone else, but it feels that because the sniped Ekitike from Newcastle, Newcastle forced Liverpool to buy Isak at any cost as he wanted the move by going on strike but Liverpool didn’t want to pay the price Newcastle were asking, thus Liverpool end up with a forward/striker they don’t really want or need.
I think Iska has gone now in the Premier League, he stamped his feet got what he wanted and look where it has got him, he needs to go to another league and then come back to the Premier, he’s just got too much baggage now imo.
Wirtz was a silly buy imo, you need to build a team around him, but Liverpool have an established set-up and unless they sold Salah which they didn’t it was a pointless signing, even if they sell Salah in the summer (2026) it will be too late due to all the other signings they have made and will make.

It’s an interesting and sad situation. They were such fun to watch last year.
For now I am staying away till things improve.
