Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Silly Gameweek 26. Only in England could we have a ‘Winter Break’ in which all teams still play and yet is punctuated (somewhat) with FA Cup replays for four of them. We say good on Klopp for showing them the finger and highlighting the absurdity of it all. Politics aside, GW26 will be held over two weekends, beginning today on the 8th Feb and concluding a week on Monday, the 17th.
There’s an unequal split too, with four games this weekend and six on the next. It makes for an uncertain and very long GW but it is what it is. To make it even more odd we don’t have a single 3pm Saturday game on either weekend. Why? TV, that’s why. They’ve seen the opportunity and taken it; every single game is now scheduled in a TV slot.
We shall stop ranting though and let you crack on with enjoying the longest of long GW’s…

I would assume that both clubs have winter break plans for next weekend.

That would mean the City and WHU players will not get a break, which is the point of the winter break.

Best option would be to move the league cup final until after the season ends.

Well, why not have WHU poised – and play the Man City WHU game 30 minutes after the league cup final ends? Or simultaneously? 11 versus 22.

They won’t move a major final for a league match.

I wouldn’t call the league cup a major final, there are too many games for the top clubs that are in Europe (Champs League and Europa League) as it is along with Prem and FA cup matches.
It would have removed about six games I think for Man City, why there needs to be two legs for the semi-finals I don’t know.
Liverpool have had the World Club Cup games to play as well and the clubs in the Europa League have played I don’t know how many extra games, Wolves first game was 25 July 2019!
This is before the players that play for their Nations have those games considered.
They either need to extend the Prem season or drop the League Cup imo.

Like I said. If it’s not appreciated, I’ll move on. Didn’t know about the mute option and I think it’s a weird thing to have on a site like this where activity already is minimal. Plus in the few years I’ve been here , I’ve rarely seen a harsh discussion.
Anyway, I can honestly say that I look different at the site now. The fact sometimes a comment gets taken down, I get. But completely muting people, really means I could be talking to myself. Takes it to another level. If that’s the case, I will think twice before posting here again. It’s as simple as that. When you’re not appreciated you move on.
