Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Silly Gameweek 26
Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Silly Gameweek 26. Only in England could we have a ‘Winter Break’ in which all teams still play and yet is punctuated (somewhat) with FA Cup replays for four of them. We say good on Klopp for showing them the finger and highlighting the absurdity of it all. Politics aside, GW26 will be held over two weekends, beginning today on the 8th Feb and concluding a week on Monday, the 17th.
There’s an unequal split too, with four games this weekend and six on the next. It makes for an uncertain and very long GW but it is what it is. To make it even more odd we don’t have a single 3pm Saturday game on either weekend. Why? TV, that’s why. They’ve seen the opportunity and taken it; every single game is now scheduled in a TV slot.
We shall stop ranting though and let you crack on with enjoying the longest of long GW’s…
The games in full…

My gw up in smoke. :big-lol:
Yikes. Though had the game gone ahead in crappy weather it could have been terrible anyway, with a freak Fab goal being the difference between the two sides. But commiserations.
I actually feel for people who TC Mane then maybe took a hit to get Kun it – and I daresay bringing Kun in for someone who’s now almost inevitably going to score.
Smart move vice-ing on another game though Elle.
Yikes, let’s hope Shu game goes ahead. It’s not much consolation to have Rico coming on.
Any chance that this game will be played later and still make it in to this gameweek? It is a extremely long gameweek after all….
It is but the Man City and WHU are scheduled to have a break and won’t be able to have one if that happens.
Well, now they are having a break this weekend. They don’t need another one next weekend, do they?
But they haven’t had a break, they’ve been preparing for today’s game.
With Kun and KDB in my team, I’d just like to see City play this GW :wink2:
If they rescheduled the game to midweek, City still wouldn’t have to play until February 22nd and West Ham even longer, 24th of Feb
I remember in the dark distance past Middlesborough having a triple GW37 with two midweek games on Tuesday and Thursday! We could be on for a repeat of this with Man City this year?
Correction it was Saturday 29th April, Monday 1st May and Wednesday 3rd May back in 2006!
Gosh SF, that’s a memory! Possibility of that, I suppose!

Lund benched
Wilder is my new Pep nemesis :butcher:
At least Rico plays, he may be making quite a few appearances of the bench this week.
With Lundstram benched and the City match off I’m looking at having 8 players this GW. Throw in the fact I have 5 GW28 blankers and 3 players who no longer start / injured I have 7 players for GW28. Think it’s time for a WC for me. Which players do people think I should prioritize with the DGWs and blanks in mind?
hmm 3x Liverpool, 1-2x Lei,Wolves,Chelsea&Sou, a goalie and a cheap but nailed on bench
Ya 3 x pool players for the next 6 matches. I’d think about 1 Newcastle, cheap and will play. I did lunds to Baldock
Had the City game gone ahead today, would you still be considering using your WC?
Great question. Just about to type the same.
Great minds GP 😉
Yes, I almost played it last week and held off a week
If you can hold off until after 28 and just take a -4 or even -8 now if you need more players for GW28.
You could go for a different chip approach and FH28, build your team for GW31 and then wildcard GW32, but does really a bit on Che beating Pool in the cup.
I’ll elaborate so you don’t think I’m knee jerking. The plan was an educated risk to bring in two city, if they scored big then that would offset 2 x -4 in the next two to prepare for 28. However, without the city game I have no points to offset the needed hits fir 28 hence the WC necessity
Well if you were close to it anyway why don’t you set it up and see how many transfers it would cost you. Then we’d have an idea if it’s worth it.
But you may well just end up taking hits fir the DGW to get players in, may be better to take a -4 now and 2 FT to get 10 for GW28.
Yeah I know, this postponement has really through my thinking. Trying to think rationally but I know I’ll be getting a huge red arrow this week which will influence my decision making
We don’t know much about the DGW so it’s hard to anticipate that (exactly).
But I’m currently looking at Leicester, Liverpool, Southampton and Wolves as having very good fixtures in the short to medium term. Most of my moves until I get round to wildcarding have those sides in mind. Everton are flickering a little in the background – I had a notion of KdB to Richarlison at some stage.
Surely trip city after 28 will be a must with 2 dgws to fit in.
Not necessarily. Pep is likely to prioritise the CL.
Maybe not 3 so. Personally I’ll have at least two
Ederson is probably the one to keep in mind with respect to DGW, but do you really want all that cash in goal.
If the matches where close together maybe, 5 matches over 3 weeks? Not many would match them points
Ederson is one I’ll be warily eyeing.
Trip city is a thought but with Pep rotation you’re always going to be worrying if a DGW becomes a single or even a blank for your players
No, I don’t think so because triple Man City means 3 x attacking players* = lots of money. Most managers will still have 3 x Liverpool then as well.
*Ederson notwithstanding
