Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Xmas Special GW15+16

Welcome to Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Xmas Special GW15 & 16.

Given that GW15 begins on Saturday and ends on Sunday and then GW16 starts on Monday we hope you can forgive us for not squeezing in any other articles. In fact they are so closely related we have simply decided to put up a joint Live Match Chat for the pair. Seems lazy, and it probably is, but it also makes sense. Crack on and chat about both, basically.

Not to complicate matters all you really need to know is the following;

GW15 begins at 11am on the 26th.

GW16 begins at 1.30pm on the 28th.

The games in full…

Keep track of all the action, the goals, the talking points, right here at FF247 Live Match Chat, an interactive chat which encourages you to keep involved and share your thoughts and emotions as the matches take place.

Good luck to absolutely everyone for GW’s 15 & 16 from all at FF247!

Thanks for reading Fantasy Football Live Match Chat Xmas Special GW15&16.

Question everyone. This may have already been discussed but I’m too lazy to go looking. How come City didn’t have to forfeit last night?

Don’t teams have to forfeit if they can’t field a team? Like there was the Leyton Orient example but I know there is a rule that teams only forfeit until round 4 (which doesn’t seem fair as I think it should be through all rounds).

Plus there have been games in Scotland where teams have had to forfeit due to Covid, Falkirk and Kilmarnock are two teams that come to mind.

Also didn’t Napoli have to forfeit against Juventus? Although I believe that Napoli one is going to court to be overturned so not sure what’s happening there. Pretty sure there have been more examples but can’t remember now.

Cup game was different with Orient it was set out in the rules of the early rounds of the cup rightfully or wrongfully. As for yesterday they did ask the Premier league for permission to call it off and they agreed. Again rightfully or wrongfully. What I don’t get is why they don’t just test them all today and play the game tomorrow once they know what players are safe

      • They are being tested this morning.

I would imagine they need Everton, police, ambulance and council agreement for staging this soon after Smash. Also, remember this game was to be played in front of spectators so they have to take that into account as well and offer those with tickets enough chance to attend or refund.

        • MattX says:

Yeah there has been testing this morning and there are 14 cases but that is players, coaches and staff supposedly so how many players I’m not sure.

I agree with GP that it’s not as simple as just playing it tomorrow as the police are involved and need shifts organised plus ambulance shifts. This is why the fault, for lack of a better word, is on City and that should result in a forfeit. Like Everton were all set for the game yesterday and everything was organised, fans were due in seats but City had to pull out due to cases. That doesn’t seem fair on Everton that they should lose out on funds or anything without some reward.

On Orient, as you mention, the rules were up to the fourth round was the agreement because of the condensed schedule. That was agreed pre-tournament so everyone knew ahead of time.

The Scottish matches being forfeited have all now been appealed and the 3-0 wins now rescinded pending appeal to be heard in January – this shows how it would likely go in England as well should this be implemented.

The Napoli one I couldn’t believe. Their own local authority forbade them for traveling and Napoli communicated this to the league – the league didn’t see this as a good enough excuse and awarded Juve the game. Unreal! But it’s the individual league’s discretion so I don’t think this could be argued in England.

For City to be made to forfeit would be harsh considering it has not been proven they as a club have done anything wrong and have taken positive steps – let the league know early and close their training ground and ordered additional testing today and tomorrow – to combat.

Also, what difference is there at this point to what happened with Newcastle which meant their game was postponed – don’t remember many calling for Newcastle to be made to forfeit.

They’ll all be investigated as standard anyway so we’ll know more then but that’s as much as I know or could find out this morning.

      • Just found out that Juve 3-0 default win is cancelled and the game to be played in May after Napoli appealed.

      • MattX says:

Cheers GP. Hadn’t heard about the appeals in Scotland and Napoli so that’s understandable as I didn’t see that as fair. Especially the Napoli because as you said that was mental!

The thing I’m not liking though is the PL and the EFL seem to be running differently. I saw yesterday that Rotherham are being made play tonight or they will get a points deduction even though their squad has a load of COVID cases. This is where things are annoying me as it seems the lower teams are being punished while the bigger teams aren’t, yet we all know the resources the bigger teams have so should be able to deal with COVID better.

Should definitely be some investigations and it will be interesting to see. I think it’s just the FA being inept and contradictory all the time that’s a joke!

    Taylor Dallas Justin Stones Balbuena
    Grealish Salah KdB Bruno Son
    DCL Bamford Brewster
    2FT 0.1m itb

Now… Grealish to El Ghazi seems to be a side grade, but saves money and El Ghazi is doing more for FPL currently
KdB Im giving up on…. so was thinking of KdB and Brewster for Soucek and Vardy
Can then consider Balbuena upgraded to Cresswell

Dont have to do them all together, obviously (considering the KdB and Brewster move for this GW)

    Open to other plans?

I at using the FH for GW18

Smash, you man is a free agent now.
Do you think he might return to EPL for a season before retirement?
