PRE-SEASON HUB 2020/21
Introduction
Gone are the days of Premier League teams jetting off to China, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia for their pre-season preparations – at least for this pre-season. Here’s hoping things in the world are again on the right side of normal this time next season and I for one will never again take the Premier League Asia Trophy for granted.
In this shortened period between the 2019-20 season ending and the 2020-21 season beginning (consider that Manchester United & Manchester City players will not even be through passport control with their families as they head on holiday whilst Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham commence a stretch of their legs with their first pre-season matches), I will again document the ins and outs and ups and downs of all 20 Premier League teams pre-season on this article as we hurtle towards the new season.
Below is a guide to the matches CONFIRMED so far – there will be more. For instance, as you’ll see, there are clubs who have not yet announced any matches. Seeing as all games will be behind closed doors anyway, I would expect the clubs to be transparent about their matches, not least to let their own supporters know what’s going on and I’ll be there to take advantage.
As is the norm – if you feel comfortable in doing so – please record any and all pre-season news here under the relevant team comment. I’ll round up each day with anything missed relating to line-ups, goals, assists, injuries, playing positions etc.
You’ll find a comment relating to each of the 20 teams below.

EVERTON
Everton Team (starting at Blackpool)
Is it a back 3? I see 5 defenders.
Kenny Holgate Branthwaite Digne maybe as a four.
Also Kean as CB.
Sorry….its Moise Kean. Right? I thought Keane.
T’other Keane is off to Barca apparently!
This is the Keane I saw hit two 20 yard passes over Coleman’s head and straight into the executive boxes
That says something about Barca!
Do we thk Branthwaite could be starter this season
Within 3 minutes Blackpool 1-0 Everton
Whatever it is, it’s not working. 3-0 after 11mins 😯
DCL got 1 back
Scoreline 3-2 in halftime (DCL: 1G, 1A and Siggy: 1G from PK)
Siggy scored a brace (set-piece), 3-3 now.

So, Siggy an option now? Would like to have him, if he’s on pens.
One for the watchlist I guess.
However I don’t trust Everton as far as I could throw the the lot of them. Which is a shame because I love their manager.
I’ve never been one to read much into pre-season friendlies.
Siggy’s been a great asset in the past but I’ve a feeling a few defenders will get more points than him, come the day of reckoning. But should he look like the Siggy of old then yes, why not?
Richarlison is the only Everton player I’m interested in at the moment – and I’m not that interested.
Probably not. He’s been slow and off the pace for quite a while now. At 7 million he’s not even cheap I think there are better options elsewhere. Unless Everton get some players in they might struggle to start with even with a world class manager
Thanks guys. It’s old love for the Icelander that’s showing. But, yeah, 7m for him seems tad too much. Cheers

LEEDS UNITED
Guys, what do you think of Bamford? Can we have him as 2nd striker in a 3-5-2 with Mitro?
That would be a very thin front line. You may end up with some meagre weeks as a result.
I want to have a look at Leeds first before committing to any of their players.
I think, even if going pretty cheap in that area, that I’d want an Ings/Jiminez/Richarlison at the very least.
I appreciate forwards are one area where people are saving the pennies at the moment. However if Kane say gets off to a flyer I can see the three premium mids wheeze ending doublequick, with midfielders flying out of sides on their arses as quick as one can say supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.
Great point
Thanks Kralin. Good points made there. I’m thinking of strengthening the forward lineup now. Like Kane+ Jimenez and Mitrovic(default selection).
