PRE-SEASON HUB 2020/21

Introduction

Gone are the days of Premier League teams jetting off to China, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia for their pre-season preparations – at least for this pre-season. Here’s hoping things in the world are again on the right side of normal this time next season and I for one will never again take the Premier League Asia Trophy for granted.

In this shortened period between the 2019-20 season ending and the 2020-21 season beginning (consider that Manchester United & Manchester City players will not even be through passport control with their families as they head on holiday whilst Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham commence a stretch of their legs with their first pre-season matches), I will again document the ins and outs and ups and downs of all 20 Premier League teams pre-season on this article as we hurtle towards the new season.

Below is a guide to the matches CONFIRMED so far – there will be more. For instance, as you’ll see, there are clubs who have not yet announced any matches. Seeing as all games will be behind closed doors anyway, I would expect the clubs to be transparent about their matches, not least to let their own supporters know what’s going on and I’ll be there to take advantage.

As is the norm – if you feel comfortable in doing so – please record any and all pre-season news here under the relevant team comment. I’ll round up each day with anything missed relating to line-ups, goals, assists, injuries, playing positions etc.

You’ll find a comment relating to each of the 20 teams below.

Last one until we get a week’s worth of preseason matches under our belt…

The wild west of prive risers and fallers may be upon us at the start of the season. Starting with Salah, PEA and Son and holding through GW3 could see 1m loss in TV with the mass transfers out for Fernandes and KDB. Should we plan to ditch these players quickly. We can always bring them back at a cheaper price with the WC after a few weeks.

      Smash says:

Yeah I think Son to Bruno will need to be done on the Saturday night probably

      • Kralin says:

I’m not convinced that will happen given that there will be mass movement towards whoever does well that day – and what if it’s Son?

Or maybe loads will just wildcard instead, especially if GW1 doesn’t go well for them.

It’s not the easiest one to call. Rashford could have a brilliant pre-season and maybe he’ll be the one a lot turn to.

I see saliba and vinagre in almost every team. And i realize that i dont know much about them. What makes them so popular?

      Tornado says:

Their price, teams they are part of and high probability of being amongst the starting XI in their respective teams at the beginning of the season.

      Chipster says:

They are cheap and likely to start.

Vinagre appears nailed for the injured Jonny (who’s reportedly out for several months) unless Wolves sign some cover. Don’t know much about Saliba but have seen chat elsewhere on this site that he’s expected to start (plus we’ll have the shield game soon to see if he does).

If they are more or less likely to start then i see what it’s all about. And alot of seems to think that they will….
