PRE-SEASON HUB 2020/21

Introduction

Gone are the days of Premier League teams jetting off to China, Malaysia, Thailand and Australia for their pre-season preparations – at least for this pre-season. Here’s hoping things in the world are again on the right side of normal this time next season and I for one will never again take the Premier League Asia Trophy for granted.

In this shortened period between the 2019-20 season ending and the 2020-21 season beginning (consider that Manchester United & Manchester City players will not even be through passport control with their families as they head on holiday whilst Everton, Liverpool and Tottenham commence a stretch of their legs with their first pre-season matches), I will again document the ins and outs and ups and downs of all 20 Premier League teams pre-season on this article as we hurtle towards the new season.

Below is a guide to the matches CONFIRMED so far – there will be more. For instance, as you’ll see, there are clubs who have not yet announced any matches. Seeing as all games will be behind closed doors anyway, I would expect the clubs to be transparent about their matches, not least to let their own supporters know what’s going on and I’ll be there to take advantage.

As is the norm – if you feel comfortable in doing so – please record any and all pre-season news here under the relevant team comment. I’ll round up each day with anything missed relating to line-ups, goals, assists, injuries, playing positions etc.

You’ll find a comment relating to each of the 20 teams below.

    Stone Frog says:

Just taken a look at likely captain favourites given the fixtures and whether you can run with just 2 premiums. Fernandes/KDB rotation works fine from GW2 for a while or Fernandes/Salah.

Hey guys, it’s great to be back after that short break. Any views on this team, will be trying to work Bruno and kdb/sterling in after a week or two. Any better option than almiron for the money.

All too expensive. What if Aguero hits. hattrick in their first game. Chaos

Morning all Changed again what do we thk of this I was going to run with Pea or KDB & Davis potential 260 points changed to Son & Ings potential 170 + 200 are we getting to hung up on three premium players still have Captain options & Son & Ings have good fixtures thoughts please

      constantine says:

Hey Silvers. I think KDB is a must. Pep would want to get the trophy back. Who knows, we might have to fit Kun/Kane with KDB soon enough.

      • Silvers says:

How are we Constantine do you thk Salah & Bruno are a must just don’t thk we can have them all ha

        • constantine says:

Everything’s fine here Silvers. How’s pubbing going?
Salah is a must. As of now Bruno also looks required. I think we can have max 4 big hitters.
KDB being the third. I think in coming days, we’ll have to choose between Salah/Mane as well. We can see a cheaper alternative in Greenwood and save some bucks to use them elsewhere. If Aguero/Kane goes hitting, we’ll be destroying our teams to accommodate them.

Morning all. My latest draft. Would do Auba to kdb/sterling/Bruno gw3. Would mean prob likely to be without Bruno for a while though. Any thoughts?

Hi all… been racking my brain and still not happy.. would really appreciate some feedback on my team currently thinking the below for GW1 and switch Son and Auba for KDB/Sterling and Bruno for GW2 onward… any suggestions/feedback would be great… thanks in advance

      MattX says:

Hey RVP. That is definitely the popular plan. I like the majority of this team bar Richarlison. I’m not too confident of Everton and there are better options than him

      • rvp1 says:

Thanks Matt any suggestion for the richarlison replacement their fixtures don’t look too bad West Brom, palace and Brighton I’m the first 4 GW but you’re right I’m not 100% about him

        • MattX says:

Well if you can squeeze another 0.5 then Ings or Jimi would’ve my choice. Downgrading Gomez could give you that money as Liverpool’s fixtures don’t really warrant a double up for me unless it’s the full backs or VVD for their attacking returns.

Gomez doesn’t get many attacking points.

      Smash says:

Yeah just account for them being more expensive come week 3
